  1. As long as the pitching is there, you can win the close games (SD won on Tuesday with only two hits in the entire game). Blanton only allowed four hits in the game today, and had it not been for Ortiz's shot, they might still be playing.
  2. The Kings haven't competed for a Stanley Cup since 1993, which was also the last time a Canadian team won. I think you mean Anaheim.
  3. The former "Jairo Garcia"? What, did the feds find his real birth certificate?
  4. The question is, will the Cavs steal one from the Spurs?
  5. It seems like a good idea in retrospect, but Nixon had a horrible year last year and Nancy Drew was coming off one of his best offensive seasons..
  6. Zambrano's value keeps slipping...
  7. 3 HR and 6 RBI and he was hitting .117.
  8. What Angels fans? Only a few diehard Angel fans know who the manager was before Scioscia, and they're the only ones who know about the 1982 and 1986 ALCS chokes. The typical Angel fan in SoCal can only remember as far back as 2002. Cabrera is just catering to his home base. Half of Angel Stadium was blue during the Freeway Series.
  9. Isn't Great American slightly larger than Fenway?
  10. Since starting 24-10, they've gone 4-12 since, including a 1-5 roadtrip to the West Coast and dropping 3 of 4 to Philly.
  11. And if it weren't for that HBP, there's no guarantee he'd be a Red Sox.
  12. I prefer to think of last year as an aberration for Peavy. Remember, he did win an ERA title in 2004 and his ERA in 2005 was sub-3.00. He went 28-13 in those years His K's have gone up every year except for last year (215 compared to 216 in 2005). Overrated? I think not.
  13. Have they ever said what caused the car crash in the first place? The alcohol or the fact that he was using his cell phone prior to the crash?
  14. Bill Wambsganss
  15. Did you not see the shoving match in the dugout back in 2002?
  16. The Ducks scored with 48 seconds left in regulation and Teemu Selanne scored the game-winner in OT to steal home-ice again from the Wings. Ducks/Senators, anyone?
  17. Exactly. Phoenix was leading most of the game and they laid an egg in the 4th quarter. Now they'll have to win another game in San Antonio (which is nearly impossible) to have a chance at winning the series. That being said, Utah vs San Antonio will be a snooze-fest.
  18. Before 2002, Barry Bonds sucked in the postseason. Yet he had won 3 MVPs by that point. Crespo nailed it on the head. This isn't a bad pick, but I would have preferred Nash.
  19. I think it was former Phillies GM Ed Wade. Amazingly, it was the smartest thing he said or did during his tenure in Philadelphia.
  20. I wonder how long Cuban was crying after the loss. His eyes looked pretty red to me.
