  1. He got his taste of the Majors. He needs some seasoning at the plate. He will be back eventually though.
  2. Ya it's really nice. It must have all the naysayers stymied. According to those guys, these pitchers where done and never going to amount to anything ever again
  3. Damn, that could have been epic
  4. JBJ is in a pretty extended slump. Having him sit is not the end of the world. He's going to be in Pawtucket as soon as Ortiz is ready anyways.
  5. He was no Cal, but a 12 year career in the bigs is nothing to sneeze at. Craig Griffey has to have Thanksgiving dinner with a Brother that's going to walk into the HOF and a Father that played 19 seasons with a slash line of .296/.359/.431. They probably don't even acknowledge that he played in the minors hahaha
  6. Holy crap really? I honestly didn't know he had a brother that played, but when I read that my instant mind visual was Schwarzenegger and Devito in "Twins" Please tell me Ozzie Canseco was a short fat guy rolling around at 2B
  7. The Oki-Mortensen comparison is a good one dojji. Guys with funky deliveries and mid to high 80's stuff can be tricky after seeing mid 90's stuff all day. He's a good compliment to a power BP.
  8. Craig Griffey, I win lol
  9. I had to read it 3 times Funny how quick things change
  10. Might as well shut him down and get him healthy while the BP is working well for the most part. I'm not excited to see Wright. I really wish Bard could get his s*** together.
  11. Youkilis is healthy now, let's see how he is doing in July-August Crawford's biggest asset was his speed on the base paths, but it was negated by his inability to get on base. It's still one of the most mind boggling deals ever imo.
  12. Halladay was in the top tier. I would put him in the 2nd tier now. He is a great compliment to Lee and Hammels. But I don't consider him an ace anymore. I think he's the 3rd best pitcher on his team.
  13. I wouldn't argue too hard about him being in the "Aces" group. He'r right there. I probably held his age against him and bumped him down a notch.
  14. It very's. You can talk about Aces in the league or the Ace of a team but just because he is the Ace of his team doesn't make him in Ace in the league. An Ace to me is a guy you expect to win every time out, a shut down guy, someone who ends losing streaks, a horse that sort of thing. In the league right now imo are Aces(in no particular order), Verlander Kershaw Cain Felix CC(was prior to this season for a long stretch) Price Weaver Hammels That's it. The next group are guys with Ace type stuff and have shown stretches of dominance but still have inconsistency's/ injury issues the keep them out of my top group, this group are guys like, Strasburg(he could arguably be in the Aces group, I just held him off because of his DL history) Grienke Gio Lester Darvish Lee Cueto I think Buccholz is almost in this group but he has to show he can give you those kind of innings year in and year out, I think you could add him in the next group with guys like Shields, Wilson, Latos, Bailey, Johnson of the world. I'm probably missing good SP on these lists but they aren't complete just used to give an idea of how I judge what an Ace is.
  15. June game will be way more enjoyable then watching the game tonight in a blizzard lol sucks but there is a silver lining
  16. I doubt there is a double header. They will tack a game on the next time the Rays are in town.
  17. You can ad Dickey and Buehrle to that list as well
  18. Probably wind up being a pitchers duel lol
  19. I'll take 2/3 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  20. Ya that's a rough outing, happens tho.
  21. It's more then likely to come true, anything less then a WS Championship and he will say " I told you they couldn't make a deep run" and if they managed to win it all it will only be because they lucked out.
  22. Lost season- not competitive- 4th or last place= all the same thing,
  23. Just one of numerous quotes I can find all over the board with you poo pooing the team before game 1 was even played, __________________
  24. You were calling it a lost season before it even started, that's why you said "play the young guys".
  25. So getting into the playoffs is a lost season? I know it's early but the team has shown they can be competitive and not the Houston Astros. To look at this team before the season started and think the season was a lost cause was ridiculous or agenda driven. It's a quality roster. Thank you for the lamest response ever
