They have to in case of a rain out, so the people who purchased opening day tickets get to go to opening day. It sucks but if you had tickets you'd think otherwise. -
Harang makes little sense unless Lackey is out long term. If it's a couple starts then that's what Aceves is for. Besides isn't Harang a flyball career NL'er? No thanks.

OK that's not bad. Looks like they could be getting some rest late in the season which is good if they are setting up for a possible PO run.

Ya 2 starts seems kinda short for an arm worry. Maybe it was just a deep muscle cramp type situation. If that's the case missing 2 starts only makes a little more sense.

When is the first inter league series in an NL park?

idk I think in the inter leagues games it will go off SP matchups, RHP Ortiz plays 1B and Napoli sits, vs LHP Ortiz sits and Napolia plays. It's 20 games spread out through the whole season. It could work out that these just end up being rest days from some players.

Well you stated how Napoli was off to a slow start defensively and how Nava was doing surprisingly good. What were you trying to imply? Nava is not going to see any time at 1B when Ortiz comes back. Given everyone being healthy he is going to be going back to the OF full time and may occasionally see 1B in some emergency spot. I do agree he probably ends up platooning with Gomes in LF during AL games. I think at this point it's a pretty good guess JBJ will be heading back to the minors for more seasoning.

Nava is doing good, but he's not going to force Napoli off 1B. Nava is going to go into a platoon in LF most likely with limited 1B action unless someone goes down.

I saw a Edes tweet that said Lackey was "upbeat" about the injury. Maybe it's nothing serious?

Probably mentioned earlier but Jacoby flashed that 30 HR power last night for the first time since he got tea bagged at 2B last year.

Only is the Gomes/Nava platoon isn't working. JBJ will only be on the team is there is a starting role available. It doesn't make sense to have him as part of a platoon/bench player.

It won't matter in a couple weeks when Ortiz is back. Nava's playing time at 1B will go way down. He has impressed enough with the bat to probably be part of a platoon in LF with Gomes once they send Bradley back down(I love the OF the way it is but he's not hitting and someone has to be bumped when Ortiz comes back).

I was at a baseball tournament all weekend, what's the latest on Lackey? I have never been a fan of horse face, but he garnered some respect points from me for coming in this season in such good shape, hate to seen any player get hurt.

I think I'm more interested in this series then the last one. I kinda figured the Yanks would struggle with their lineup and the Sox could take a couple from them. Toronto is supposed to be the measuring stick in the AL East this season(even though I have predicted it not working out with that roster). Should see some Sox HR at the Sky dome.

Ya they can coexist together, no issues there. Def more of the Boras factor leading at least for me to think they wouldn't be together after this season. I actually love the OF defense right now. One thing I noticed in the Yankee series is how often there was 2 OF waiting under a fly out. Teams are really going to have a hard time getting anything to drop in with this OF. I bet if JBJ wanted to he could run to RF on a flyball and join the other guys waiting for the ball -

He's playing great D and putting the ball in play at the plate. Pretty much what I was hoping for out of him.
