  1. A Fatigued groin? Ive heard it all now....
  2. It has been said that Hughes and Bailey were they top pitching prospects in the minors, Hughes showed some promise before pulling a hammy and rolling his ankle in his best Pavano impression. It should be fun to see what Bailey brings to the table. With these two out of the minors, who are the top pitching prospects now?
  3. 2 seasons.... First season is a total adjustment period, learning new parks, learning new pitchers. Year 2 should see some vast improvement.
  4. And your probably one of the posters that suggested Cora play for Pedroia too...
  5. Pedroia doesnt need to bring any pop. His swing was very long at the beginning of the season, he looked like he was trying to crush everything and he struggled badly. No hes going the other way and shortened his swing up and now is doing well. He doesnt need to swing for the fences...
  6. This is what happens when you ignore the knee jerk reactions to a bad start. We've been saying all along he has just as good of a bat as Lorretta(better actuallu know at the moment) and a better fielder. Some people on here are starting to act like Yankee fans, if the player isnt a name or an all star or leading the league in batting categorys you want his head on a platter and have some big expensive name brought in. Hopefully this will be a lesson to all in patience. Not saying he will preform like this all year or even his career, but this shows you whats hes capable of on any given day.
  7. Also Wake, Mirabelli, Timlin, Pinerio, Romero, JT are FA after the season, so were talking closer to 50M off the books. Besides the Sox arent a small market team, if they want to pony up the money to get a certain player they will do so. Them signing Drew won't effect future signings if they really want a ceratin player.
  8. Schilling by the end of the season will not be the #1 or even the #2 pitcher in the rotation. Besides his outing against Cleveland, he hasn't pitched well against above AVG. lineups. He might just be going threw a funk right now theres no telling. But Beckett has clearly passed him and Matsuzaka is not far behind and would probably be ahead of him if he didnt have so much to adjust too. I would much rather see them bring in someone like Buherle then give 15M to Schilling as of right now. Of course this could change, but I have trouble seeinf Schill getting stronger as the year goes on. He's a #3 or #4 guy right now, and probably wont get any better then this. If he wants 15M, Id let him walk and try and bring in Buherle or someone else that will help for the next couple seasons and not just one. If he wants 13M, well I know its only a difference of 2M but I suppose that wouldnt be too bad considering what some guys are getting paid(Meche). Just aslong as he doesnt pull a diva act and realizes hes not the ace of the staff anymore, not the opening day pitcher, and hes going to start #3 or #4 in the rotation. I'm not sure hes ego will beable to handle that, so who knows if he even will want to comeback if those are the circumstances...
  9. Jesus you guys would bitch about anything. Yes his numbers are down, but were in the first couple months of the season. Everyone wined that he wouldnt give it his all in the OF, and whats he do? Go balls out aand crashes into the wall and dings himself up, now everyone bitches hes not in the lineup. You either want a guy that sacrifices his body and misses some games or you want a guy to not go at everything like his ass is on fire and play everyday. Decide which player you would rather have and stick by it. Give the guy sometime to adjust for crying out loud. Hes in a new league(spent hole career in the NL), hes playing in one of the most pressure packed enviorments imagineable, and hes got people like most of us on his case if he doesnt hit .330 and hit 30 hrs. Atleast give the guy a season, instead of killing him after 3 months. I know he can be questonable, but were stuck with him for 5 yrs or so, so man up and stop wining, were in 1st place and the team is doing fine without him, anything he contributes is a plus...
  10. Yes I know it was serious, I winced everytime they showed it on replay, just adding some humor to a tough situation is all...
  11. I watched it, it was legal, he just added a little umpffff to it. And later Lowell knocked Minky the Fahk out!
  12. Big Z hit him with a 2 piece and a bizkit!LOL Dammmmm you got knocked the Fahk out!
  13. wereup in the 50-60's for a pick, but we got Lester an Pedroia that late, its suppose to be a deep draft.
  14. fIf Wake can manage a .500 record, then hes accomplished what he is supposed too, anything extra is gravy. Everyone is acting like he was the ace and has fallen of drastically, its Fahking Wakefield! Come on people him pitching 2 or 3 bad games in a row is normal. I think everyone fell under the assumption he was going to pitch all season like he did at the starts of this year. To think this is just absurd and you should smack yourself in the head.
  15. Who cares if he ends up playing 1B. Youk can move to 3rd. This guy is a potential 30 HR hitter. Jacko normally I would agree with the catching being thin deal. But Atlanta already has there franchise catcher, and a 1B. Everyone knows they have no where to put the guy. I think this fact would equal out any advantage Atlanta would have by saying catching is fairly thin threw out the league. Salty at 1st and we could still see Kottras as catcher. And if he doesn´t work out the Salty can be the catcher. I think you have to make this deal, Crisp,Bowen one of Hansen,Delcarmen,Murphy,Cerrano, Gabbard, Johnson, I believe a combo of these could and should get it done. Now only if we could make Theo think this as well....
  16. Wakefield has always been a hot cold pitcher. He is either great or he is awful, usually no in between. He was lights out at the beginning of the season so it is only natural he turn ice cold at some point. He will bounce back like he normally does. If your looking for consistancy in a knuckleballer, you might aswell look for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...
  17. I think it be great to be able to leave Jacoby down in AAA all year. The more polished he is when he eventually comes up the more he will beable to contribute. When he comes up he should becoming up to stay. Let him blossom in AAA, and bring a Moss or a Murphy up. There speed is decent(Ellsbury is much faster obviously), Defence is good, and both have a little pop, and thats always good to have coming off the bench. Bringing up Ellsbury right now is like banging a virgin. Its fun, it does the job but theres no on the job experience with them. Get a girl who has had some practice and refined her skills and its a much better ride? Mods, hope this isnt too explicit, if so feel free to edit:)
  18. Guys this is completely random but Id thought id throw it out there for discussion sake. Espn was talking about the Yanks being out of it and they might look to unload a little bit. One of the only guys without a no-trade clause(partial, he has a list of 12 teams that are ok) is none other then Damon. What about a reunion with Ol Johnny boy? I for one wouldnt unless the deal was absolutely loopsided on our end, such as the yanks pick up a big chunk of his remaining salary and we only need to send a low level guy back(I know its horribly onesides, but thats the point). If Lowell leaves at seasons end Youk could move to 3rd and maybe Damon moves to 1st? Just food for thought.......really thats it.......
  19. No problem dougn, Things to keep in mind before posting: 1. Grammer, capitalization, Punctuation 2. Spelling helps( Im a horrible speller anyways) 3.Make sure you thread is int he proper sub category(which your ok on) 4. You can throw any topic out there but alot of people like it to be some what relivant and us getting Lorretta back is just absurd at this point in time. So just don't be shocked if you get some backlash, but its all in good fun, look forward to your posts, just as long as there no written like 5 yr old...
  20. Out of everyone in the league you chose M. Loretta? I can think of about 100 players I'd pick up before him. Besides Pedroia is hitting above .500 the last week so why the hell would you get Loretta? You better bring better s*** then this or you r gonna get crushed on this board...
  21. Bowen, Crisp and one of the following Hansen/Delcarmen/Snyder/Gabbard... A minor league SP with big time promise, Veteran OF that prolly would perform better away from Boston and a young RP with some ML experience I think would be a nice deal for 1 prospect with minimal ML experience but also big time upside...
  22. If you need a beaned batter then JT is your man, that dude is nuttier then Squirrel turds...
  23. Youk will most likely only get on the AS team if he is a coaches pick...
  24. Why shouldnt JT face Wang? Hes had to face Santanna and Halladay 2 times each this year and if im not mistaken he has a winning record in those outings....
