  1. JD over last 15 days- 9R 2HR 11 RBI .325 AVG. Looks like his bat might be coming around and he looks more comfortable at the plate and in the dugout. Actuaaly looks like hes having some fun.
  2. I wouldn't mind seeing Ellsbury, but I think he should be the last option, albeit hes a decent one. Pedroia is really coming into his own and looking like a solid player. He might not keep it up all season because most rookies tend to drift a little in the 2nd half, but hes really showing he belongs. Kilo, your avataar is superb!
  3. An RBI is an RBI tho isn't it? It doesn't have to be pretty.
  4. I wouldn't min getting Tex. The rumor floating around was Lowell to Minny and then a blockbuster for Tex. To get Tex, it's going to have to be a sweet deal. I have been a big fan of Bard after seeing him pitch in college, but with his lack of secondary pitches he might just be a RP. If we could get Texas to think he has a shot at being a SP, then send him and 2 more prospects to Texas for Tex. Bowden and Bucholz at this point in time have to be completely off limits. the only draw back about Tex is hes a FA after the 08 season, and Boras has already hinted at a 100M deal. If he came to Boston and proved he could be a big time producer, then ya maybe give him sonething around there, I guess he could replace Manny at some point in the lineup. Coco+cash, Hansen, 1 prospect for Salty in ATL. Lowell to Minny for I don't know what. Bard + 2 more prospects to Texas for Tex. Lofton,Rowand or Ellsbury to fill the CF hole. I know these are pipe dreams but hey there ideas arent they?
  5. Lugo's avg. sucks but hes knocked in 33 runs, that would be tied for 3rd on the Dodgers. Drew struggled after his RF crash, but now is starting to hit. Am I happy with them? Not as much as i'd like to be, but i'm not a "sky is falling fan" so I don't mind being pateint.
  6. Ok Gents and ladies, hes an idea I'll toss out there. Everyone is down on Lugo right now and calling for his head on a silver platter. Well the Buccos just benched Jack Wilson. Hes a decent SS, young and signed threw 2010( I think 2010 is an option yr). With the money being close not real close but decent, should the Sox and Buccos hook up in a swap of SS's?
  7. Ya would everyone be happy if breezed threw the season with no competition like the Mets did last year? And then fall flat on our faces to a very s*****/lucky ball club in the playoffs?
  8. He's a decent BP arm, its not like hes the 2nd coming of Paps or something. Everyone has a bad habbit of looking at short term success and getting all pissed we traded the person. Remeber last yr when everyone was all pissed about Anibal Sanchez after the no no? Now hes sitting in the minors because teams figured out his mediocre stuff....
  9. If they could sign Tex for a decent deal( not the 100M Boras is blowing up eveyones ass) then ya hed be greta for the team. At this point in time if Texas would take Bard and maybe a OF prospect(not Ellsbury) I'd do the trade. Bard has a huge ceiling with his fastball, but is lacking in secondary pitches and will most likely be a RP. Maybe we can convince Texas hes a starter and they bite LOL
  10. I hate Bonds, But its 73 and if AROD can beat it, even tho he is a Yankee I will cheer for him to do it...... Man thats was tough to type....
  11. I love Manny, he can take a dump in LF for all I care...
  12. You've written the same s*** in like 5 different threads, do you actually have an original thought in your brain or is it all copy and paste?
  13. And your the most over-rated annyoing sky is falling poster ever...
  14. I don't care if they lead of with Tek, try anything until you find something that actually has production...
  15. yaaa waaaaa hoooooo lets trade Lugo and release drew and sign trot aand Nomar back and then we win all games it will so awesome like on my MVP baseball i have like the greatest team ever....... The idiocy on this board sometimes is ridiculous...
  16. Like I just posted, man up all of RSN! Were in a s***** streak at the moment, which can be expected because if you thought they would play .700 ball all season and beat the Yankees by double digits then your just f***ing retarded. This happens every year, they start out with there ass's on fire and cool off and let the Yankees back in it. It happens every year! You would think some on here would be used to it and alomost expect it. But no, there just a bunch of ninnys on here who think the sky is falling and then end of the world is near. Theres still a ton of games to go, so stop with all the crying and cheer for your team and ALL of its players. I could care f***ing less if they win the division or not, the just need to make the playoffs, and we can go from there. Winning a WS being the WC or Division champ doesn't make a bit of difference to me, al that matters is the WS. The f***ing Yankees can win all the division titles in the world, I want WS!
  17. The Sky is falling the Sky is falling..... Jesus you guys need to show a little backbone and tough out a losing streak... Did you expect them to play .700 ball all year? If you did your just f***ing dumb...
  18. CF- Lofton, or Rowand(these are more likely options then my next few suggestions) Send Coco(plus this yrs salary and 25% of hins remaining contract.), Hansen and one more player to ATL for Salty. SS- I doubt theres anyways to send Lugo to another team without paying about 75% of his contract so were stuck with him at this point. If you can get Salty you might beable tot turn him around for a decent SS, or hold onto him either or.
  19. You know I?m trying to give Schilling a chance here but hes making it very hard. How the hell do you almost get a no hitter, thenh give up all those runs to the Rockies? I mean ya they actually might have a better lineup the the A's but c'mon Schilling how about a little consistency. I for one am glad and have stated before that the FO balked at giving him an extension. The only problem this makes is that some dumass national league club is going to offer him 2yrs 28M plus more then likely. But after last nights game I'm not sure hes worth the 13M hes getting this yr and wanted for next yr. He needs to get his s*** together and focus on pitching better every game out not 1 out of every 3. Maybe a little less time Blogging and a little more time working on something to do with pitching is what he needs. Sorry for the vent but I needed it LOL:thumbsup:
  20. Alot of you are missing the point with Ellsbury. Yes he could play CF as well as Crisp, and yes he could probably do more with the bat. But if you bring him up as a replacement this year your putting alot of pressure on a very young guy. Yes I believe he could handle it, but I would rather see him play all year in AAA and have his comfort level as hi as possible. Bringing him up now could work out greator it could end up crushing his confidence and setting his mental game(Hansen) back. I think they could find an adequate replacement for CF for this seaosn without having to rush Jacoby. Believe me I want to see this guy play, but Id rather see a guy thats polished and for sure is ready to come up take the CF starting position and stay there. I for one think they should persue someone like Aaron Rowand for the late season run. Good D, Good bat, has playoff exp. and has won a title. I don´t think they would have to give up a ton for this guy considering hes a FA at the end of the season.
  21. It's a cursed position or something. In all honesty tho SS is a position in the league right now where there isn't a deep talent pool. Besides a handful of guys theres really not alot to choose from. Yes we had Hanley and he looks like hes going to be a top quality SS, but if Beckett continues to pitch as a top quality starter then you have to make that trade 10/10 times. Besides, for those who are blaming Theo for the SS situation you can't account him for this trade. All the others are on him tho. We all know Lugo can be a quality SS, he just seems lost at the moment, hes struggling and he has admitted this(which is more then alot of players will do), he wants to play great, he wants to be a spectacular lead off man, its just not happening for him, and I for one believe its not from lack of effort. He wants to be here in Boston, and play for a top market team, I think he can handle it, but for now we just have to have some Patience(which is not a quality that most people have that are from RSN). Let him hit out of the 9 hole until he can find his swing, and when he does, if Pedroia is holding his own in the lead off spot leave him where he is. At this point I think trying to trade him is a bad move, and most likely an improbable one.
  22. Ocab ya it would be nice to have him around. Damon NO, Yes he is better then Crisp but look at him, there talking about making him a DH or 1B. He can't throw the ball and when he does( as someone else put it) he looks like the nerd in gym class who chucks the ball all retarded after hes been made fun of. Yes Damon will be pretty good the 1st couple years of his contract. But hes got Bernie Williams written all over him, and theres no way I'd want that on the team. Damon's body is going to fall apart, the signs are there. Damon going to NY hurt us short term(2 yrs) but in the long run it will be a smart choice. As far as SS goes, I don't know if there ever going to beable to find someone that can play SS for more then a yr for us. Ocab was our best bet, buttheres nothing we can do about that, They signed Renteria, which in all honesty wasn't that bad of a deal prior to the start of the season. I don't know if they will beable to move Lugo without eating a huge portion of salary, and I have no clue who they could get to replace him. But for the mean time leave him in the 9th spot or on the bench until he gets his head on straight.
  23. Pinerio makes like 4M this season, Romero was far cheaper. Plus hes a LHP, they already had 3 LHP in the BP pitching good.
  24. JD is a good player. Maybe 70M is too much, but thats what they have to pay and there aint Jack Diddly any of us can do about it. We concentrate on the financial aspect of the game in Baseball far too much. If you ask me there all over paid, but I won't hate cause Id take it in half a heartbeat and so would all you. Lets just put the money aside. Hes played decent ball. His D in RF has been decent. His hitting was hot to begin with and fell off the table. Hes a career NL guy, in his 1st season in the AL East, its gonna take awhile for him to get used to new parks, new pitchers ect. Give the guy sometime and have patience. Id rather see him start slow and finish strong rather then start great and peter off at the end of the season.
  25. Pinerio is more expensive. And he looked some what ok last night in mop up duty.
