Dice-K threw a 2 hit shutout in the first games as Andy Pettite realized he should have stayed in Houston or retired gives up 6 runs in 3 1/3 innings. The BP looks like a mash unit. Game 2 Wakefield out duels TBA for the 3-1 victory as Manny hits a 2 run home run in the 8th of off a pitcher made up of body parts of Scott Proctor, Kyle Farnsworth, and Andy Pettite´s left ass cheek. Game 3 JT goes 7 strong innings to stun the NYY fans, the Sox go on to win 6-0. The Yankees now sit 8 games back of 1st place, are in last place. Steiny is having daily chestpains and has developed teret syndrome were he cusses Torre´s name at length for hours. Finally in a last ditch effort to change the fortune of the Yankees, the beloved fans hold a mass suicide on the grounds of the new stadium. Bud Selig sees this as a bad message to the fans and shutsdown the NYY franchise.... Of course this is worst case scenario LOL

Yes A700 alot of people said this, but if you check out Pitching staff prediction thread, I had Beckett as the staff ace. Its still early and to keep this pace up for a whole season would be tough, but hes far and away ahead of were he was last year.

Props to Cerrano, I give him some crap but got tot give credit were credit is due even if this is a one time deal and he goes 0-4 next games with 3 Ks. Or maybe this will springboard him towards the potential playe alot of people see. Hes gotta start somewhere and maybe it is here...

Hes 25, he will eventually learn that if he wants to play baseball he cant chase pussy all winter and not train his skills. Right now hes not that expensive, so why not have him as the 4th OF? How many teams 4th OF are that great anyway?:dunno: Hes going to get some PT for the next couple weeks if Coco hits the DL, so lets see were hes at then. If we trade him now we get soggy crap sanwiches in return, if we wait and see what happens maybe we will beable to get crap snadwiches for him, atleast they won´t be soggy... All I know is the worst thing for a guy trying to find the hole in his swing is to not see live pitching on a regular basis, And he doesn´t play a half bad CF, hes horrible in RF and LF tho...

88 I might believe but 90, no way, The last game I watched him pitch in like a week ago he never went above 87 and sat around 84, 85 the whole time he was in there. Unless he threw change ups all game. I not joking with you bud, I seriously didnt see him reach that speed. Maybe it was just that game.

I never said you need a great fastball to be dominate, but you need something better the 84-85MPH( he doesnt throw much harder then this). You can't be a soft tossing guy and survive in the AL East. Thats why everybody was saying BZ coming to the AL East would be a huge debacle, and this guy is the Japanesse version of Zito with the same fastball and change up, but not as good of a curve.

He will never had a ML fastball thow. And that is the one factor that will keep him from being a ML starter... Maybe in the NL...

Right now I don't see Igawa as a ML starter. His stuff is very mediocre. His off speed stuff is ok, but you can't live on it forever. You need some kind of fastball to get batters of your junk pitches, and he doesn't have it. Neither does Barry Zito and he has looked terrible this season for the most part. And hes the guy they were comparing Igawa to. Cashman paying 26M to talk to this guy was a knee jerk reaction to Boston getting Dice-K and it is really biting him in the ass now. This guy will be an avg. #5 starter(maybe a decent #5 in the NL) or a MR pitcher in his career.

I hate Bonds, I dont even care he used Juice, becaus emost the pitchers he faced were juiced so its a moot point in my book, I just don't like him because he is a prick that needs all the attention on himself to feed his ego. I am a hardcore Red Sox fan, but I will not shed any tears if AROD breaks the single season HR mark in a Yankees uniform, or even the all time HR record, Id rather see him with it the BOnds even tho he is a Yankee...
