  1. Some pitching starved NL team will give him a shot.
  2. Cool, that line looks nice. But let me know when hes doen a bit more LOL
  3. Sammy had lot of negative things going for him a couple years ago. But the year away seemd to have lessoned the negative around him, and hes back to being Slamming Sammy. As far as HOF goes. Every guy with roid allegations is a tough call.
  4. Hansen lost the ability to throw his slider effectivley, this being his best pitch he was left without much to fall back on. Which led to him getting hit, which led to him having mental incapabilities on the mound. Throw in the fact the tried to tweak his pitching motion and he was just a mess. He's going to need this year and maybe next in the minors to sort out that wasp's nest. I don't really see the point in bringing up Lester, getting him all excited then sending him back to AAA when Schill comes back. Yes I know he would be on target to pitch in his home State, and after all the guy has been threw, it would be well deserved. But when they bring Lester up, it should be for good, not just a 2 start stint. Thats why my 1st choice is still Gabbard.
  5. Its not over until were 10 games up with 9 left.
  6. Lets not forget that Youk has stated recently, he not comfortable in the lead off spot.
  7. Coco gets Honorary "Masher" label for his series against ATL. Nice series, hope it continues.
  8. Tavarez ahs been a great #5 pitcher, will it hold up all season? Who knows but hes doing a decent job now and thats all that matters.
  9. Hes far and away better then alot of bench players in the league.
  10. Gabbard would be my first choice as well. His spot start earlier this yr was quality.
  11. SeaBeach, Like it was said before, this could be an attempt to get his stock up a litlle before trading him off.
  12. Zito's deal is a huge rip off, but atleast he's on the field. Mike Hampton's contract is the biggest rip-off in baseball history.
  13. Ya giving Schilling an extra few days off might be the best thing for him. Even if we had to bring up Gabbard or pitch Snyder for a spot start wouldn't be too bad.
  14. WMP/Crisp + 1 decent prospect and possibly 1 low level prospect, for a half season rental would be more then fair. I'd like them to get Buherle and then sign him for a few years if he does well. He shouldn't be anymore expensive the Schilling would be. 08 rotation would look like this: 1. Beckett 2. Matsuzaka 3. Buehrle 4. Lester 5. FA/Bucholz Thats a rotation I wouldn't mind seeing at all. I think Buerhle might sign for 4 yrs 48-55M which isn't bad for a pitcher of his ability.
  15. I wasn't saying they would bench him, just saying he can't be counted on at this point.
  16. Nommah you are the biggest fair weather fan on this board. Look at your post ripping Drew, then he turns it around and starts hitting like alot of us said he would. Now your talking as if you never thought he sucked. All the sudden he has big time power and can be a great leadoff hitter.... Your a Joke...
  17. I called this yesterday before the report came out. He looked so good in the 1 hitter then looked like garbage the next two starts. I knew he was hurt cause you don't lose 5MPH of your fastball in two weeks. Hopefully he will be able to straighten this out and it won't be long term, if it is long term, time to start looking for a SP on the market.
  18. With Schilling struggling to be mediocre on a consistant basis, JT pitching decent but you never know with him, and Wakefiled being streaky at times, should the Sox be looking for another SP? Before anyone says it, leave Lester out of this thread. He just got cleared to pitch more 75 pitches for the 1st this season. It will take him a bit to get longer in to games, and 75 pitches will get you 5 innings in the Majors if your lucky on most nights. So right now he would do more damge then good by not going deep into games and eating the BP up. Just a few Pitchers off the top of my head, if theres more feel free to mention them. Buherle- My favorite option, LHP, playoff experience. Harden- Not much on him lately, hes good but injury proned. Who else guys?
  19. And for that Schilling will always be remembered in RSN, never pay for a meal or drink in Boston ever. But hes stinking up the joint and doesn't belong in the AL. He needs to do what RJ did and head back to the NL. He could be decent there. His stuff just isn't good enough to be in the AL East. He's either pitching hurt or hes just losed 5MPH on his fastball in the last few weeks. If hes hurt and needs a DL stint, then so be it, aftet hat maybe he could pitch more consistantly, but right now Curt is not was he was in 04 and never will be again. I don't want them spending 13M+ on a guy who might be a #4 at this point. I will always be greatful for what he did, but that doesn't mean he gets to stay and play here forever.
  20. I'd like him but probably not at the price he will want...
  21. He's a dumass if he takes this job, the Yankees job is basically his if he waits it out. I am no fan of the Yanks but I would rather coach there then in s***** ass Baltimore.
  22. I don't think there is any amount of money if I was Girardi to Manage in the sespool known as baltimore.
  23. You want to tell Beckett he has to pitch every 6 days with the way hes pitching? It would F the hole roataion up, and now there just getting Matsuzaka used ot 5 days, don't throw a monkey wrench into the mix by making it 6 days, its just a bad choice. Lester is healthy, but has not pitched more then 75 pitches this yr and just got cleared to pitch more. Let the guy build his legs under him, 75 pitches will get you maybe 5 innings in the Majors, he would eat the BP up, so as of right now hes more of a liability to the Sox and ther BP then he is helping them. Give him time, he will be back eventually.
  24. Schilling thanks for 04, but don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out. Hes not worth wakefields salary at this point. He will most likely head back to the national league next season, because some team will be dumb enough to offer him 2 yrs. I like the idea of Zambrano, but not at anything higher then 15M a season. Talesin, the albatross in RF has one of the hottest bats on the team, it is very easy to see who the knee jerk reaction guys are on this site. Santanna would be cool, but not at 20M a season. Since there might not even be a spot available for him, invest other places, Buherle wouldn't be a bad option and alot cheaper. I think there going to have to make a move for a SP before the TDL, Beckett and Matsuzaka can't be the only 2 pitchers that give you more then one good start in a row, and right now Schilling pitches good in 1/3, Wake is a 50/50 guy and so is Taveraz.
  25. Good game on all ends for the most part. JD is getting on base out of the lead off spot. I like his double, it was a pure hustle double.
