  1. I think he will pitch and be ok, maybe not 100%. But you have to give Jacko's opinion some level or respect on this. Yes it might smell of Yankee Eau de Toilette, he has a medical background, and I'm sure hidden under the fragrance, is some medical knowledge.
  2. Good read, thanks for the post:D
  3. The Sox old FO let thought Clemens was done, that FO was the reason they sucked and where horrible for a stretch. Boggs wanted to win a WS, at this point the Yanks where the creme of the crop, and again the Sox old FO let him go. Damon left for an extra year added to his contract, it was finacial, and I am pretty sure he didn't bad mouth the FO and vis versa. The only players who bitch about the FO are the ones that where bigger then life stars in the Boston area, and basically didn't get what they wanted, Pedro wanted a 4 or 5 year deal, Manny wanted an extension or have his options dropped. Neither got what they wanted and complained about it all the way outta town. Alot of those guys sound like the ex-girlfriend/boyfriend who complains a year or so after the break up about the significant other. Bad mouth them, say they where never actually happy blah blah blah. But we all know the reason for this, there still in love with the other and are bitter about not being together anymore. Maybe not in Mannys case because of his mentality, but Pedro was bitter. The media in Boston has an annyoing habit of trying to smear or some how diminish players who leave Boston, but its the local media, just take it with a grain of salt. Maybe this is just how they cope when a player they liked leaves, so they say bad things about them to help heal there bleeding hearts. As far as running Tek and Youk out of town I doubt it. They will offer them the deals they think are right for them and the team, and if there not good enough then they will part ways. The Sox will continue to win, and the Yanks will continue to over pay for those type of players the Sox won't. The Sox FO has shown they have the balls to get rid of the Popular players for the good of the Whole team, if this is the way, and it leads to WS titles every few years, then so be it. You can hold onto the players Gom, I'll enjoy the titles:D
  4. This was only assuming they managed to rid themselves of Damon and Matsui. Hes a hi reward/ low risk type of guy.
  5. This was there plan going in to every off season when Steiny was in charge. And with the new stadium and no revenue sharing, the Yanks will be ready to throw tons of money at there problems even if its not the smart thing to do. I bet there payroll approaches 250M next season hahahaha.
  6. Milton Bradley in NY?:wtf: Hahahahaha That's a match made in heaven.... Besides he like playing for Washington in Texas. He has some daddy issues and Washington seems to sooth Milton's complex disorder. If Washington is gone then Bradely will roll out for the biggest pay day. Gom your on Meth:shock: if you think he signs for 8M a year. He's coming off a career year and hes gonna wannna get payed....holla...... My God, Sheets, I wouldn't sign him with some other teams cap space. If he can't stay healthy in a big contract year, theres no hope for him. I honestly think CC has little interest in NY. With NY's ownership issues( Hank is an Issue), plus the overall age of the team, NY isn't the big destination it used to be in years passed. Plus he likes the NL, and if he smart he will stay there and continue to dominate. Bring back Abreu or maybe go after Dunn who can play RF and 1B. or do both and play Nady in CF. Maybe Blaylock at 1B, if he become a FA. If I gave a crap about the Yanks, this is what I'd be preaching, Get younger, Dump Damon, trade Matsui. Let Moose go and collect the picks. He is up right now, but you can't go into next season expecting this years numbers. Perge the BP, sign some out of the FA pool and see who performs well come spring and go from there. Sign Burnett(15M), Garland(12-15M) to sure up the roation, keep an ear to the ground and see if Lackey (15M+) or Penny(10-15M) gets out of there option years and become available. Here's a real dark horse for CF. Rocco Baldelli.
  7. Yanks are out of the Playoffs, and there fans are starting to eat each other, hahahahaha:D
  8. Lester #3, so he opens home. Beckett is still the #1 Just on the chance he turns it up again this post season, Game 1 is very important. If he can come in and dominate, it could get LAA thinking(we all know what happens when hitters over think) and get them playing tight. Dice-K is the best #2 option, because he will break up the power style of Beckett and Lester. I really think it's important to go with just these 3 for the rotation, a 4th starter at this point is Wake or Byrd. And to be frank, there not the best options at this point. I can barely stand to watch Byrd in a regular season game, the thought of watching him in a meaningful playoff game gives me anxiety. The Sox best chance is throwing there 3 best guys at LAA.
  9. Never went to Yankee Stadium, but to sum it up from what I've heard, lots of history, smells of flat beer and urine. Looking forward to seeing the new stadium tho. I heard there was no mention of Torre during the video montage.... Real classy Hank. Seriously, if he is that immature and petty, the Yanks are in alot of trouble. I say it's more likely he runs them into the ground before they win another Championship LOL
  10. Maybe he should think about surgery. I know back surgerys are risky, but RJ came back from one and hes over 40. Also A700, Lowell has played 112 games in the first year of his new deal, I haven't seen you rip him. I mean you could have and I could have missed it. All I'm saying is you like to jump on Drew very quickly, when in truth, alot of Sox players have missed significant time this season.
  11. Or bring it up. Your a glass half empty guy aren't you? LOL Yes he has his fragile times. But if you know this then it should be expected and you should not be bothered or surprised by it.
  12. The Sky is falling, the sky is falling........ By my count he avg. a shade under 130 games a season so far in his Sox Career. Granted its not 162, but not many reach that number, 145 would be nice. Have you ever had a herniated disk? I'm 26 and had one and couldn't move for two months and it still bothers me till this day. It's unfortunate, but you can tell he wants to be in there. When early on in his career he sat for questionable reasons. This is different, I think Drew really enjoys playing in Boston, and has changed his out look on the game. If he could be in there he would be. So instead of kicking him while hes lying next to that dead horse you been beating since he signed that 70M contract, hope for a full recovery and be thankful with what he can contribute in the future. He might not be in there in October, but if not for Drew, the Sox would not even be close to the Playoffs, he carried this team for a good 4-6 weeks. In other news, does anyone have the details on Drews contract, maybe he won't hit his required games played and the Sox can opt out. Then maybe A700 can sleep at night.
  13. Yankee prospects are like Notre Dame football recruit classes at this point. They get bumped up and hyped because they are in the "Yankees" farm system. Cano, Wang, and Chamberlin are the only players to come out of the system and held their own in the ML since the Yanks last title. Everyone else has stumbled/fizzled to some extent. And if there where any big time guys, they would have got a shot by now this season. The Yanks and Sox are two of the very few teams that can put a big $ guy on the bench and let a rookie compete/play(Lugo/Lowrie). Yanks pitching prospects outside of Joba and Wang over the past 6 years or so have been nothing at all to right home about. Jacko, you can say as many times as you want that your not biased. But you are my friend. And I too have been known to be biased for certain players and what not. But to honestly think Cashman has restocked the perverbeil well(farm system), is folly. If there as good as you think the Yanks wouldn't have to give out huge contracts to FA. They would fill from within, and when the time is needed and benifits the club, spend the $ they save from the younger players, on Quality players and not on over priced/ over the hill Names.
  14. If those 3 names are in the pen next season and see significant innings, the Sox are in trouble.
  15. Beckett is going to be re upped this off season or early next season, I think this is a non issue. Probably in the area of 5 years 70-80M. Dice-K is lock upped long term, Lester/Buccholz/Masterson should all be relatively cheap for the next few seasons, although if Lester puts up another season like this next year, he will be looking at a long term deal soon. I don't see them going out and putting big $ into the rotation. Sheets has great stuff, but has an injury past, so that means most likely NYY over pay for him. Burnett also has great stuff but he too has an injury past. If he takes a 3 year deal(which I don't see him doing), then maybe he lands in Boston. CC I think stays in th NL if he is smart. Besides those 3 I'm not sure what other big names are out there. I don't think the Sox bring in any 2nd tier guys unless its a Colon type deal, short, low risk, hi reward type deal. The Sox aren't going to save any money on Lugo. In fact, they most likely will have to eat a huge portion of his contract to move him. Or he becomes the most expensive utility player ever. Boston is one of the few teams that could do this. So really going into the off season the biggest ? are C, and BP help. Those are the areas I expect to see some money thrown at or prospects given a chance/ or traded for.
  16. Would it be out of the realm of possibility to see them trade for Salty, and sign Tek for 2 years. Salty stays in the minors next season, and becomes the back up in 2 years, then takes over. Nothing beats a little competiton, Kottaras, Salty, Brown and whoever all playing for the chance to replace Tek.
  17. Pass on Gil Meche.... Thats a Yankees type move. Meche makes more then Beckett, that will go over like a fart in church. Although I believe Beckett gets re-upped this off season or early next season. But Meche makes far too much for what he has to offer. I'd rather they brought in Burnett for that much $.
  18. You can't be serious. Kottaras is not a projected 30HR switch hitter. Kott might be better defensively, but not out of Salty's league. He's young, put him with a good coach and he could be very good behind the plate as well as in the box. And what are they dreaming of offering for Kottaras over at RoyalBoard?
  19. I backed him against all the doubters here. The same people saying Cora should get more time. And against the few on here who thought he was expendable and Lowrie could easily take over.
  20. I wouldn't mind that deal. Bowden +1 atleast tho IMO.
  21. Ok I'm done, looking back on some of these threads is good stuff...
  22. doooh!dooooh!
