  1. Welcome to Talk Sox:D We all like a poster with spunk, but these types of statements will cause your more grief then anything. Just a heads up, so your not surprised if you find alot of posters not taking you seriously or retaliating back.
  2. Honestly, I am expecting little to nothing from Schilling this season. I know the competitor in Schilling wants to go, but I think he might have finally reached the age where your body just says no. You might get a couple good starts from him, but I just don't think he can do it consistantly. Got nothing but Love for him, but any pitches off the ML mound from him has to be considered a plus and not a guranteed thing.
  3. Nothing real solid, but on ESPN Radio, the SC segment just said Wang is expected to miss and " Extended " amount of time. Jacko is spot on with his worrying about it being a lisfranc. Thats is something that could sideline him for a good portion of time. If it is, this could be a massive blow to the Yanks. The three scenarios that could happen are, -Hank goes crazy and guts the Yankees farm system and brings in some big names off the trade market, -They could stand pat and see where it goes, -Or they could throw in the towel and start to try and trade off some of there older veterans to contending teams. This injury could really show what the Yankees front office direction for the future is. If Hank hit Cashman over the head with a frying pan and hits the "Panic" button, the Yanks farm system could plumate into the realm the Stieny had it a while back.
  4. I do not deny sometimes I cringe a little when it comes to those circumstances and Drew. But for the most part I haven't had too many issues with Drew. When he wasn't hitting he still was playing good D and that does count for something. But when he has been really needed(Stretch run last season, Papi being out of the lineup), he has produced at an All Star level.
  5. I believe I'm one of those 5 that stood by him as well, we look like genious's Kilo:thumbsup: LOL
  6. I can see Kobe tea baggin ol Curt on the way to the rim, but the Curt would sit him on hir rear end with a fastball upstairs, then we can watch Kobe throw his back out trying to hit a splitter:D
  7. I'm at such a loss....please give me a second.......... Ok now that I have picked myslef up off the floor. Dude.... (Insert best pot and kettle joke here), This coming from a Yankee fan is absurd, During the Yanks title run they had a plenty of coverage. Infact up until 2004-2005ish, ESPN's baseball analyst where manly always picking the Yanks to win. Everyone had them running over Detroit on the way to the world series in 05. After that series, everyone seem to take a collective step back on the Yanks. And begin to say that they where never going to win again until they changed the way they did things. But before then the Yanks where always in the press nation wide whether it be the big trade or the big signing. For awhile there all off season long the baseball coverage was pretty much who will the Yanks get this off season. Granted today there is even more media then ever, so of course it will seem like the Sox are getting more coverage, theres just more of it out there. And when you win and your an interesting topic, then you will also see more air time. The Sox proportion wise are getting no more then what the Yanks used to get. But don't get me wrong Jacko, got nothing but love for ya trying LOL:thumbsup:
  8. Throw in the fact that when the Sox Pitching prospects get to the ML, they have for the most part provided good quality pitching. The Yanks Pitching prospects(not named Joba) have provided very little at the ML level. In fact for most, there value as Pitching prospects has fallen. I think this says something about each teams system. If I'm a GM I'm weary of Yankee pitching prospects.
  9. I aslo think that SP is not the issue for the Sox at the moment. MRP and a bat if Ortiz can't go the rest of the season is the issue of the moment. I mentioned in the Ortiz thread that a few writers out there believe the Sox will go after Dunn if Ortiz can't play. Not sure who's out there who could really be of some assistance at Middle relief.
  10. We all know the Tribe is starting to fall back and there have been rumblings that the Tribe might be willing to move CC at the deadline and try to contend with what they have left. I'm not surprised about this considering the price tag he will have hanging from him next off season. I figure the Yanks will be in on him of course, but there was something I heard that made me kinda go huh. Jayson Stark on Mike and Mike this morning said the tribe was willing to listen on offers for CC and have already begun to seriously scout other teams farm systems. What surprised me was that he said that the Guardians scouts are scouting the Sox farm system very hard. More so then any other organization. I found this odd because of the Sox depth at pitching and there young pitching, is there really a need for CC for 1/2 a season? Would the Sox even be interested in him at this point? And how much would they be willing to deal for a half season rental. Also say they do trade for him, I don't see them giving him the big $ contract hes going to go after. We didn't do it for Santanna, i don't see them doing it for CC. So I can't see them giving up what the Tribe is gonna want for him. I just thought it odd that Stark was so adimit about the Guardians interst in the Sox farm system. Whats everyone else say on this matter?
  11. I can't believe some on here are so willing to give up on Dustin Pedroia so quickly. Of course your probably the same that where barking to play Cora more last spring. Listen he may not hit .300 every year. If he can hit .280, and play the D he does then whats the issue? Is Lowrie going to be that much better hitter or fielder? All I'm saying is, the guy deserves a little slack. He has bounced back before, lets let him try. Hes not hindering the team at the moment.
  12. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3429644
  13. So whats the projection of the SS the Sox took in round 1? And how soon can he replace Lugo? I Kid I Kid......
  14. Ya taking it out on a guy thats hitting .500, 2HR, 6 RBI, 6 runs and great D over the last week.... Drew was right in the middle of the rucuss as well LOL I'm sure it was a heat of the moment thing and they probably already squashed it by now.
  15. Ya taking it out on aguy thats hitting .500, 2HR, 6 RBI, 6 runs and great D ober the last week.... Drew was right in the middle of the rucuss as well LOL I'm sure it was a heat of the moment thing and they probably already squashed it by now.
  16. Anyone out there hear anything about this? I saw it happen but, not sure if it was asked about in the post game interviews.
  17. If Ortiz can't come back and contribute, or needs season ending surgery, I think the Sox will be in on Dunn, if hes made available. Yes it will cost a couple good prospects, but he be a nice DH. That and he will be a FA at the end of the season(type A), so you most likely get a nice pick for him.
  18. Ortiz out sucks. That said the Sox are fortunate enough to have pretty good depth. No we don't have any one person to replace Papi, our line up still won't look bad. Casey at 1B could indicate Youk, or Lowell seeing some DH. Manny at DH for the next month isn't bad. He will save his legs and our OF D will be at it's peak with Ellsbury in LF, Coco in CF and Drew in RF.
  19. Manny is wearing a #34 arm band:lol:
  20. We all knew you would eventually get there but congrats on joining the 500 HR club. Your a bit of an odd ball at times, but that just seems to make you even more interesting and fun watch. you play the game like a kid, and really thats how it should be played. Thanks for everything you do Manny!
  21. I believe its more of this. Second year players a good majority of the time regress a littlle when theres more info out there on them. Now we will see if Pedroia is able to adjust like the good hitters in the league.
  22. I posted the splits before this series. Its under Red Sox on the road thread. It's nothing spectacular, just sosmething I threw together quickly.
