  1. The live pics make the Jersey look cool. The Illustrations do them no justice. Get over thet hat everyone. It's just an alternate hat. It's not that bad. What else would they use for a alternate logo? Would you rather have a big "RS"? And yes like I stated earlier yesterday, this could be a reason the Sox left ticket prices alone, knowing that a new apparell line was coming out. Be thankful they just did this instead of jacking ticket prices again. This is not all that bad.
  2. CC is a top pitcher. Lowe is an innings eater, and Burnett is basically a tick above a .500 pitcher.
  3. Yes they finally got rid of all those untradeable albatross deals. Only to renew them with 3 new ones(CC, Lowe, Burnett hypothetically).
  4. Is 6 more starts really worth the risk of injury to iffy pitchers? Take 6 starts them and thats about 18, plus Joba won't make 33 starts. So there could be 24 starts available to a #6 pitcher. If someone told me all the SP your start the season with will make 27 starts each while some youngsters could split up 24 starts, and everyone stays healthy. I would take that.
  5. The Yanks can't fill the DH spot with Manny, until they know Posada can catch full time. If Posada can't he will need time at 1B and DH.
  6. They are being said to ask ownershio to expand the payroll so they can sign Furcal at 4yrs/44M.
  7. I'd be elated at this set up. But now that texas has moved Laird, it's going to be harder to get Salty. They have been rumored to let Salty and Teagarden platoon this season. If we could get either or that would be spectacular. Bowden + 2 lower level guys or 1 upper level prospect would be a nice haul for Texas.
  8. Said on espnradio, that the Yanks have offered Burnett a 5yr/80M deal. You guys can have him at that price.
  9. True. But if its anything around 7+M a season it's not a bad deal.
  10. How did he fail? He got a 2 year offer from ateam that only offered 1, while there was no one else offering 2 years. From what I've read, no one else offered 1. He got an extra year for doing what he does best. He didn't fail.
  11. He was just saying that as a ploy. He probably knew he could only get somwhere between 5-10M a season for 1 or 2 years. But why would he admit that. Say you start the bidding at a Posada type deal, the Sox offer a one year deal. And you comprimise around what you originally valued your client at. Good job on his part if you ask me. Boras knows how to play that game. GM's walk away thinking they have gotten a steal because they got Boras down from his original over the moon offer. But really he got exactly what he really wanted, and doing so with little to no market for his client.
  12. I can see Tek and Tex having a press conference together, with Boras standing in the middle with a big s*** eating grin on his face.
  13. Well there go the Manny to NY rumors. Damon and Matsui will be holding down LF with Nady in RF?
  14. But who closes? And will the other have an issue with it? I mean I would assume Krod, but will Putz be ok with set up duty? Outside of that, great trade for the Mets. Maybe the best thing for Reed is a change of scenary. He has some big time expectations and fell short. Now maybe the NYM stay out of the FA OF market and concentate on getting a SP of note.
  15. Minaya got lucky that the Twins GM over played his hand with Santana. The Sox and Yanks didn't want to give up the prospects and moved on, Leaving the Mets the only viable option at the time.
  16. I admit, I was trying to sugar coat it by saying "average". I was trying to save the thread from becoming a Gom and Jacko crazfest trying to defend the infield gloves.
  17. I merely suggested the link might be better suited for your opinion/ reasoning. And when you start chalking things up to luck as part of your argument, you get the s*** stamp straight away.
  18. Ya, the Yanks infield D isn't more then average.
  19. Well me being 26, the Late 90's Yanks are how I think of them I guess. There my reference point. George was an idiot too sometimes but he seemed to keep most things under control while trying to maintain a certain image of the Yanks.
  20. Man don't make an argument while using "Luck" as legit reason. If this is the s*** your gonna provide for our reading pleasure, then maybe this site is more for your type of thinking/posting, http://www.dodgerblues.com/
