Playing at Fenway and in Bostons lineup he could probably hit .275/.370/.500 with 20+ HR and play a decent OF.

Navarro is probably ahead this year. But by next he will be 3rd. Or he will get traded before then.

It's not because of Agon. It's because Werth signed for 126M and now Crawford is looking for 8-10 years for 180-200M deal. That's nuts for a speedster that has played his whole career on turf. He doesn't want to lead off. He's not batting 3rd for the team. And that's way too much money for a 5th or 6th hitter. I don't care how flashy he is.

Ya I saw that too. But for some reason I think he is still under control passed 2011. All the articles I have read have been saying how weak next years OF FA class will be. That doesn't make a lot of sense if Ethier is in there. After the big 3 1B, he would easily be the next best player on the market. He cam up in 2006. So that puts his 6 years or so of MLB time after 2012 season. He likely signed an extension that bought out some of his arb year, but not all of them.

Crawford is no longer an option. They aren't giving him 8-10 years at 18M-20M per. I know you have been having fun with the daily reminder. But I think your going to have to retire that one. If they won't go 8/180M for Agon, they sure as hell aren't doing it for Crawford. Find another man crush

Maybe not this week, but for the ret of the off season I can see I think a trade for a LF. Willingham, Beltran and at the more pipe dream end of the spectrum Upton are possibilities. Maybe try and sign Magglio away from Detroit. Crawford and Lee are pipe dreams as it stands now IMO. Look for BP arms. Scutaro was being discussed. Might have to wait for Hardy and or Bartlett to get moved before someone is really interested in Scutaro. Look at a couple of the Type B's or guys who weren't offered arb. No type A's please. I would try and sneak Salty through waivers(pull him back if he gets claimed, which I believe they can do) and get him to AAA and try and bring in Martin. I think having all 3 would be much better then having only 2/3.

I was embarrassed for the first time being a member of this board yesterday after reading through a lot of those posts. And it wasn't just from the usual tools. A lot of quality posters here pulled the biggest chicken little I have ever witnessed in my life. I saw complete 180's from guys when it came to Theo and the FO. Absolutely killing him because in their minds and the minds of Heyman and Frodo(ORS props) NWIH was Agon coming to Boston with out an extension in hand. They didn't even consider for a second the possibility that the trade would still go through and the Sox could have 11 months to work out a deal I'm glad to see everyone has seemingly got their sense's back.

LOL Carl Crawford will not be in a Red Sox uniform. He might not have a job if that is what it's going to take to sign him. a700, is he worth that? Any one up for trading Papelbon and Dice-K for prospects and to free up some $, and throwing a package of prospects at KC for Grienke. I know it's a bit out there. But considering his situation and the fact Theo already has pulled off one nice trade and still has plenty of chips(+what he would recieve for the previously mentioned players) it might not be too hard to pull off.

I still think they should get Willingham. I doubt he will cost that much and the Nats just lost a lot of leverage with the Werth signing. Considering that and what Agon just went for, Navarro may be enough to get him.
