  1. Sorry if this has been posted, but it made m laugh
  2. Not too much fun I think most of us where saying how the Tex sized deal that was being rumored was insane. This deal isn't insane, it's probably an overpay, but it's nothing compared to if he really got a Tex deal. Ex1 has done a good job of selling me on the financial aspects of the deal. I still have my worries, but realistically what long term deals don't have risk :dunno:.
  3. Yes you where right. It wasn't for the years and $ we where debating, but in the end Crawford is in a Red Sox uniform. I still think the back half of the deal is risky, but I won't say I'm not looking forward to seeing what he can do in the 1st half of it. Also(not directed at you), this pretty much cancels any "the FO is cheap" talk for the next few years. The Red Sox will have 2 players making 20M+ AAV. Something they have never had before. I'm still catching up in the thread so this may have been mentioned and I haven't gotten to it yet. But this may make Ellsbury more expendable. Anyone see him and a couple prospects going to LA for Kemp or AZ for Upton? Just a thought.
  4. And Crawford hates lead off. I'm guessing he hit's 3rd or 5th.
  5. ^ This I said NWIH it would happen if it was going to take the 8-180M that was being rumored. This is a lot less, but still a ton of money and I don't like this deal past year 4. I'm hoping Crawford ages better then i think he's going to.
  6. They definitely have their obstacles to overcome. But their replacements they have are yes young and unproven, but look to have a good amount of talent. They may not be the Rays of the last couple years. But I don't expect them to be the Orioles either.
  7. Brignac is not a bad replacement.
  8. I don't want them so sign him. But I pretty much figure they are going to anyway. The Yankees adding Lee doesn't make them invincible. They have a 2nd year guy in Hughes, AJ off an awful season and blank. I'll still take Boston's rotation.
  9. Nice pick up for the Padres. They should sign Hoffman and see what they can get for Bell once a couple more of these reliever sign and teams start to get desperate.
  10. I want no part of that. Lee is very risky one the back half of that deal IMO.
  11. I'm hoping they can pull it off. I think Beltran could fit perfectly in this line up.
  12. Ah yes I see that now. Maybe TB? Someone is going to give him a chance to close.
  13. I like the thought of trying to add Jenks. But someone is going to give him a closers job. AZ maybe?
  14. Ricky Henderson didn't play the on turf. But Vlad and and Andre Dawson did. How where those knees in their 30's?
  15. He would be an ok option for LF next season. He may not put up 2008 number, but he will probably enjoy a nice spike in offense like most RHH do playing at Fenway.
  16. He is on the Red Sox.
  17. It's that bubbling primordial Canadian blood of yours
  18. Things seems to be really heating up with Lee. Looks like the Rangers are trying to clear money. Probably to up their offer for Lee. And an eventual Hamilton extension.
  19. I think he's worth a shot. They could carry all 3 Catchers on the roster is Martin can step in at 3B once a week.
  20. Ok, not the Angels. Starting to run out of suitors.
  21. meh...Doesn't he cost a 1st rounder? I hope it's less then Benoit got.
