I think the BP will be filled later with a FA or two. I expect them to do at least one trade for the BP as well. They needed to get this done and out of the way first.

Cashman take notes. This is how you deal with a player who has actual leverage. And a guy with 1 year left before he hits a FA pool where he might be the best player is about as much leverage as a guy under contract can get.

So 10-15M this season followed by 5 years of 20M annually. Fairly close to what I predicted, maybe even less. But Jacko can't understand anything outside of the Yankees way of negotiating with players. He thinks the only thing your supposed to do if hand them a blank check.

I put it up some I can point to it later and remind Jacko not every team signs Yankee land contracts. He will get 5-6 years maybe 7. He's not getting 8, so it's not going to be 180M+ deal.

Haha sorry, well I think my point was Agon is worth elite money. Crawford and or Werth is not. That's why I was willing to wait.

What' everyone think the extension may be in terms of years and $? I'm thinking something like, 2011: 11M 2012: 18M 2014: 18M 2013: 18M 2015: 20M 2016: 20M 2017: 20M 2018: Vesting option for 20M, 5M buyout. So 6 years/130M or 7/145M

Agon stabilizes the line up as it is currently constructed. They don't HAVE to get Werth or Crawford now. Yes they should still try, but they don't look as desperate now. What makes this even sweeter is there is no possible Boras factor to deal with extending him! LOL Seems like the Sox always have to go through him.
