  1. Ummm if it isn't broken, don't fix it. 14 runs a game should suffice IMO Crawford should not be in the top 3. His style of hitting seems to run very hot and cold so far. And he's never had a great OBP.
  2. I don't know what your talking about. I specifically remember people saying the season was over after the 2-11 start. How can they have surpassed the Yankees if they aren't playing games anymore? I think sir you are delusional and should seek out psychiatric help immediately.() They are playing some good ball right now and the offense is really starting to look smooth. Inter league play came at the perfect time for the Red Sox IMO. The offense should really be tuned in after beating around NL pitching.
  3. Bringing Pedro back has a "cool" factor to it I have to admit. But I doubt he would be ready to pitch before Dice-K and Lackey return. And I don't know if Pedro wants to toil around in AAA waiting for a spot :dunno:
  4. Expect great defense from Iglesias and anything with the bat is a bonus. It may be a bit too early. But they really don't have many options right now.
  5. If anyone goes it probably would be him. Although I'm kinda undecided if that would really do any good or not. Who would they bring in? I think the numbers will even out eventually.
  6. Magadan will get the axe before Tito ever will.
  7. Why not see if Drew is interested in a one year deal? And does anyone know which shoulder Kalish hurt?
  8. Nice to see Scutaro hitting decent when he's in the line up. Should increase his trade value
  9. As maddening as Salty can be to watch, they really need to just let him keep playing and see if he finds his groove. The internal options are not ready and if they go that route it's more of trying to catch lightning in a bottle then a sure upgrade. And from the sounds of things it doesn't appear to be a better option via trade or FA. Bengie Molina is intriguing. But I think they should give at least until the beginning of July. If it's not looking good then, they will have a month to complete something. If there is anyone available that is.
  10. Crawford hitting Home Runs, Jacoby getting on base in the lead off spot and Lackey pitching gems? American League, you are officially on notice. Watch out
  11. Doesn't matter what the pitcher does if the Catcher can't get the ball close to the bag for a tag. Just like it won't matter how good the catchers arm/accuracy is if the pitcher lets him get a huge running start because he's not holding them on properly. It's not all on one or the other. Some responsibility falls to both players.
  12. It's been awhile since any team has respected any Catcher's for the Red Sox ability to throw out base runners.
  13. Wait they are still playing? I thought the season was canceled after the 2-10 start?
  14. I've heard commentators numerous times talk about the fact that Scioscia calls the pitches during the game. But I admit I could be wrong As far as Salt goes, he's one of those guys I really wanted to see work out and although I think it's a bit early to cut him off completely, I will say he can be frustrating to watch. And I can see why some people want to see a replacement. Ex1, I was thinking the same thing about Tek. Maybe it would be best to let him call the game from the bench. At least try it out for a bit and see how it goes. Maybe taking that off Salty's plate may help him focus on the other aspects of his game.
  15. It's just going to take a bit for the lineup to settle. Once everyone has an established spot it should gel.
  16. No way. If the bring anyone into the booth with Remy and Orsillo is should be Ecks! I love it when he was in there And as one of the resident "old farts" as you have put it previously, why are you quick to put Wake out to pasture? He's been pitching in blow outs in meaningless innings. It's not like he taking save opportunity's away from Paps. Yes I know he's taking up a roster spot but if the guy wants to gut it through the season and has been around as long as Wake has he should get the chance to do so. I'm sure one day soon you'll be the odd man out and will be having yourself pushed out to pasture and I bet you won't like it one bit
  17. I've wondering the same thing since the ink dried. I'm not totally against Crawford. But I never got that enthusiastic about the signing. I thought he really only brought what Ellsbury already gave to the team. And he didn't cost 140M+. Boras probably had a boner for a week when that deal was given out. He has his basement comparison all lined up now But I hope he comes around obviously because I want the team to be good. Just like I always hope Lackey pitches well when he's on the mound. But I will probably never like either deal.
  18. Posted this in another thread, but thought it might be better suited for here: Lester has been solid. Lackey has been typical Lackey. At least IMO. But you all know I don't expect much from him. Buchholz has been meh. But nothing to be worried about. Beckett has looked great in his last 2 starts and has shown he is still capable of dominating games. And Dice-K has been great or awful. Again no surprise. BP has looked ok. Jenks had a pretty bad outing the other night. Bard and Papelbon have both looked strong. I like Aceves and what he brings to the team. Wakefield seems like a good mop up guy. I haven't seen much of the other guys though.
