  1. I can smell your fear.
  2. Of course I don't want to see him in a Boston uniform...but that has nothing to do with it. Look...I can make you an offer of ten yankee prospects...but if they are not blue chip prospects, it aint happening. You're offering garbage in quantity. If you don't believe so, join our fantasy baseball league and trade with me. See what I do to you. This deal starts with Buchholz, Kelly AND Westmoreland. If I was the Padres. If not, I'd go see what the Dodgers would give up, and the Angels, and Texas. Hell, the Yankees would give up Joba/Hughes and probably Montero and stick one of Tex and AG at DH and call it a day. That blows away your package.
  3. This is inherently based on the fact that UZR/150 is a valid statistical model, which I completely disagree with. If you believe that UZR is an accurate model, then yes, it would make sense. If you don't, as I do not, then Cameron's value drops off the face of a cliff. I do not believe a player's defensive value is what you see in this statistical model. Far from it. Which is why I believe that the Cameron deal is a big mistake for the Red Sox for two reasons. 1) The Red Sox FO over-value his defense. 2) This will most likely keep them from getting a big bat in the OF.
  4. I'll play SD gm. No. Unequivocably no. Why? Laptop is fine. Ramirez is garbage. Not interested. Jed Lowrie is garbage. Not interested. Bowden is garbage. Not interested. Kotchman is garbage, not interested. You're trading garbage in quantity...but it's still garbage. Let me ask you something...first of all, this is assuming you actually finish the Lowell/Ramirez deal, but I'll play along... Would you trade...[again assuming they are on different teams] Buchholz for Lowrie, Ramirez, and Kotchman? No way on earth. It's not about QUANTITY, but about QUALITY. You're not giving up enough QUALITY.
  5. I don't know Coco...asking a Yankee fan not to be incite a shitstorm on a good day for RSN....tough, baby, tough..especially when it's THIS EASY.... I might....just.....f***ing....LOVE IT!!!!
  6. The Red Sox gave him 85 million reasons, more like it.
  7. It took all of four posts for you to go from 30% to 60-70%. I love it. Only to ORS would one team calling the other the Evil Empire be called stating reality.
  8. *removed*
  9. Yankees spent 423.5 million on their big three. If I'm correct anyways, I'm doing it from memory. 30% would be about 127 million Sox this year... 85 mil for Lackey 15.5 mil for Cameron 12.5 million for Scutaro You're already at 113 million. If you pull of the Lowell deal and sign Beltre, you're already there champ.
  10. Keep in mind...the Yankees kept payroll where it was the year before. The elimination of bad salaries allowed it The Red Sox can't spend as much as the Yankees, that's a given. However, spending over $100 million in one day...well, you can't really cry poverty can you?
  11. Rumor has it that you shouldn't be posting here anymore. :thumbdown
  12. Hey mods, merge the two Mike Cameron threads.
  13. So...can we put to sleep the Red Sox bitching and moaning about the Yankees payroll? How much did they spend today? $100 million?
  14. It's a done deal.
  15. Good day for the Sox...bad day for the Yankees.
  16. Matsui is gone. I must say, Cashman watching while the competition is getting better...I'm not too happy.
  17. Not really. So far, the Red Sox have made the only offer. I don't know about Lackey and Burnett. Lackey is definitely the more consistent pitcher, but Burnett has more talent. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Lackey...but not by much. Let's see what Cashman has up his sleeve. So far, he's been outmanuevered by Theo. We added Granderson for pretty much nothing, but Lackey and Scutaro were by far bigger transitions, and the Sox have all of their depth to deal.
  18. I think you'd need to trade all three...Buchholz, Kelly, AND Westmoreland.
  19. Actually I'm home today with the flu. Not like today's baseball news made me feel any better.
