  1. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=olney_buster Here is Olney saying that it will take Westmoreland, Kelly and a couple of other high end prospects. The truth of the matter is this. There is no reason to trade him now, outside of injury. You could get the same package for him next year, but with less risk as you could ask for players closer to the major league level.
  2. Adrian Gonzalez will cost a lot more than anyone here thinks. I said it earlier...it would take Kelley, Westmoreland, and Clay. Buster Olney's "independent evaluator" pretty much agrees that it will take more than Kelley and Westmoreland...that the Sox would have to throw in a few other high-end prospects. The truth is, Gonzalez is under control for 2 more years at a shade over 10 million. He'd be worth roughly about 40 million over those 2 years. That by itself will cost a ton of prospects.
  3. I don think he's worth that much. In this market, I honestly wouldn't give him more than 15...and he'll make that.
  4. I would be completely shocked. First of all, next year's free agent class blows this one away. Secondly, he's a righty, which wont play well in the new Stadium. Secondly, he wants an obscene amount of money for a long time. He's a luxury, not a necessity. I'd rather take that 20 million, throw it at Sheets and Damon. They would cost about the same..and be short term.
  5. Any new news on this today?
  6. His job is to read the market, don't you think?
  7. Yeah...one series. With the Marlins. Sure does make you proud, doesn't it?
  8. He's lost his luster recently. If the player isn't a superstar with multiple bidders, he's bitten the bullet a few times recently.
  9. After all of Boras's posturing, he came back to the Yankees and asked for $10 million for two years today. By then, the Yankees had agreed to Nick Johnson for 5.5 million, and there was no going back. I loved Damon, he is a hard-nosed player, but I'm glad to see Boras get kicked in the teeth. He may get similar money to the 2 yr, 20 million, but not on a great team. He has no one to blame but his agent. f*** Boras. I have nothing against the guy, he does his job, but he's dropped the ball a few times now on all but the top tier free agents, and he just did it again. I mean, he had to read what I was reading, how the Yankees were negotiating with Nick Johnson. He dropped the ball.
  10. Emmz jumping in to defend you is not a new occurence. Stop playing like it is. As for someone getting banned...well, last I checked...it wasn't your call. I would say something to Emmz, but she blocked me, so what's the point, lol. Anyways, like I said, a Yankee regression is pretty much inevitbable. It's just a question of how much.
  11. The conversation is as civil as I can make it. My point is that even when he debates a point everyone agrees with, he just can't back it up with a strong argument. Then when he gets called out on it, she runs to save him. It's a f***ing broken record. Anyways, the Yankees offense will regress next year. It's just a question of how much.
  12. Look at the chart again...tell me what you really see? Secondly, I don't use Fox Sports hit chart. I use ESPN Insider. According to them, here is the distrubution of balls to left, center, right. 21, 17, 18. Know what that means? He's a spray hitter. Know what I know from watching the gamezzz? He's a spray hitter. Know what you can see from your Fox Sports chart? He's a spray hitter. In fact, most of the doubles and flyballs he hit to left center would have been homers if the park was reversed. Now go look at Matsui: http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/individual_player_hitting_chart.jsp?c_id=ana&playerID=425686&statType=1 Look at how his hits were dispersed? What do you see? Pull hitter...yet he hit markedly better on the road. You really can't make a logical point, yet you constantly pat yourself on the back thinking that you do. You're completely lost. Quick...hurry...get Emmz to defend you. Was that better 228? I didn't call him a douche. Yet read his posts. He either says it or implies it all the time, and when he's wrong, and he gets his Internet girlfriend to back him up with some classic tidbits like "pwned" or "ROFL" or whatever. He's just confused.
  13. My favorite is the fact that Cano is a pull hitter. Guess which percentage of fly balls he hit was lowest to the outfield? You got it. Right field. Yet he's a pull hitter.
  14. Except that out of the seven players you list, three were incredibly better on the road. I don't deny the Yankees perform better at home than on the road, but as usual, you can't make a point. Just showing that you're retarded, that's all. Matsui not known for his pulling habits? Are you serious? I don't deny your point. Just your research. It's no wonder why you can't win a debate. Go away. You were smarter when you weren't posting here. Think on that for a while, douche.
  15. Cashman is taking a huge risk by not bringing back Matsui and/or Damon. So far, our team has gotten worse this offseason from last year.
  16. Amazing that you do research and don't understand the very numbers you quote. Truly amazing. First of all, Posada, Damon and Cano were markedly better at home and as lefties. Swisher, Matsui, and Gardner [who is really unimportant] were incredibly better away. Melky is within the realm of statistical variation. The point is, the Yankees hit better at home than away. However, as usual, you've done a piss-poor job of making your point. That being said, the Yankees will see most definitely see an offensive regression next year. The question is how much.
  17. I forgot...italstallion is a huge douche. All I'm seeing in this thread is how everyone is a douche. I was making an observation. ORS, as usual, doesn't like what Jacko says, so he calls him an idiot. It escalates from there. Go back to the beginning of the thread, but it started with ORS. I'm just pointing out facts. As it is, I am not sure this deal makes any sense when you could have had Matsui for 1-1.5 million more. Haha...Emmz put me on her ignore list. What a f***ing baby...
  18. ORS is a douche. Dipre is a douche. Jacko is a douche. Emmz is...well not smart enough to be a douche, but she makes up for it in effort. How much of a douche the person is to you is dependent on your fandom.
  19. I like Nick....but I'd rather have Matsui. First of all, when you look up Disables List in the dictionary, you see a picture of Nick Johnson. So if anything, he's less durable than Hideki. Secondly, he can only play 1B, which for all intents and purposes, makes him a full-time DH. So why not Hideki instead, who has always been a solid performer, especially in the post-season? You can't go a long-term investment in Johnson, nor should you. I would love to see them bring back Damon and sign Sheets and Wang. Do that, and they are the best team in baseball again.
  20. I wonder who will perform better next year....Clay or Joba.
  21. I don't understand it. Johnson is going to get Matsui money...and I'd rather have Matsui, except that he went to LA. Look, if they want to dump Matsui and Damon and use that money for Sheets, I would understand. However, I wouldn't trade Matsui for Johnson and 1-2 million...which is what this deal really would be.
