  1. If the Yankees do make the deal, it will end the Damon era in New York. I like Damon, but let's see Boras get him the 4 years, 52 million he's preaching. He's more likely to end up with a deal closer to 5.2 million than 52 million. Dipre...which one is it, by the way. The funny thing is I am defending your scouting ability, and you're calling me an idiot.
  2. To tell you the truth, I think that Damon is the better value right now for pretty much any team if you can get him for just a year or two.
  3. Ok, dipshit...according to Range factor, who had better range, the last two years? Cabrera. So...the question again: Basically, either you're an idiot who doesn't understand the game, and whose opinions on scouting are completely wrong and off-base, and your personal analysis is dogshit and should be completely ignored from here on, or the formula is ineffective and not accurate enough within the realm of acceptable error, and should be, at best, taken with a grain of salt...if that. Pick a side, lawyer boy. This should be good.
  4. The Red Sox will get a comparable LF to Bay...if not Bay himself. I wonder if the Sox would entertain bringing back Damon to play LF. An arm in Fenway for leftfield is truly not that important.
  5. No..I refuse to use ERRONEOUS stats. I'm not sure of Granderson's arm, but from what I've seen, he has more range. UZR and is way too inaccurate for my taste. You can choose to use a stat that lists Tex as a bad fielder, that lists Granderson having a one year shift of 10!...makes no sense to me. Of course, to you, if someone puts down a number, you'll accept it, ask no questions, and quote it as if it was scripture.
  6. Actually, the more I think about it...this deal makes ZERO sense from the Nationals point of view. Why trade the number one pick in the Rule V draft when your team sucks ass? Do the Nationals really feel they can't get a good young player off of a better team's scrap heap? For Bruney?
  7. Looks like this deal is back on, possibly. Supposedly, the Tigers are willing to take a little less for Granderson.
  8. I'm serious Emmz. I promised not to post videos of you, remember?
  9. Interesting note from Buster Olney: I'm really curious about this deal now.
  10. This doesn't work, I tried it. Can someone cut and paste me an example here, or send it to me in PM. I want to see the coding. I put in the ID, but it doesn't work.
  11. This deal, as structured, is not going to happen. I'm not a prospect guy, but giving up four prospects for a one-dimensional player is not worth it.
  12. The Red Sox will battle it out with Seattle and Texas for the wild-card, while being the favorites. The Sox players who will trend downward will be Lowell, Ortiz, Drew and Papelbon [whose days as an elite closer are numbered IMO]. Par for the course will be Martinez, Youk, Pedroia, Beckett, Lester. Improvements should be seen in Ells and Buchholz. A full season of Martinez will offset the decreased production of Ortiz. The wildcards are Wake and Matsuzaka. If they can pitch 170+ IP each, the Red Sox will be formidable. If they combine for 170 IP, the Red Sox may miss the playoffs.
  13. So apparently there are a few diamonds in the Rule V draft. I'd be really interested to see if Cashman can get a decent player. I looked this up, and this was really cool. There is one player who is in the Hall of Fame who was a Rule V draftee. Can you guess who it is? [Answer at the bottom] The following players were Rule V draftees, and all were All-Stars at one time or another. Pretty cool. All Stars [i didn't confim this list of whether they made the All-Star team or not] * George Bell * Paul Blair * Bobby Bonilla * Jody Davis * Darrell Evans * Kelly Gruber * Josh Hamilton * Willie Hernández * Dave Hollins * John Hudek Selected in minor league portion. * Dave May * Mike Morgan * Jeff Nelson * Scott Podsednik Selected in minor league portion. * Bip Roberts * Johan Santana * Joakim Soria * Manny Trillo Selected in minor league portion. * Derrick Turnbow * Dan Uggla * Shane Victorino (twice) Answer: Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente
  14. DeRosa wants 9 million per. I'll pass http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/asking-prices-for-beltre-derosa.html
  15. I'd take a shot at Jackson. He's got a live arm... He'd be perfect for the Mets to slot in behind Johan.
  16. There isn't? How come every time I go to the stadium, I see the NL team has a DH? When did this rule change?
  17. So basically, it's useless, I think.
  18. If so...is this a good deal?
