  1. While tapping on this phone blows, I've gotta weigh in on one thing. The Yankee medical staff buttf***ed the Tex issue. Recovery for the surgery he requires is 4-6 months. I get they didn't want to commit to that, but throwing him out there isn't one of those 'well, he can't hurt it worse' situations like Pedroia has. He can hurt it worse, he could rupture the tendon entirely, which would be potentially career devastating. As it stands, that hasn't happened, but Jose Bautista was the example of why the surgery needed to happen in March. The guy tried to come back last yr to no avail. If Tex was operated on in March, there'd be a good chance he'd return before the playoffs and possibly as early as August. Instead, they f***ed around with 'rehabbing it' then shoved the ******** line of how he was 100% pain free and forced him to avoid swinging a weighted bat as a countermeasure and now we have a 1b who is still in pain and still needs the procedure required in March and now we're looking at a completely lost season. The issue spurring this rant is a comment from Cashman about Tex still having pain today in the wrist. Fix the f***ing thing and put this issue to bed. If they try to rehab him again, he's risking tearing the tendon completely
  2. You are too lonely. My CPU is packed and typing on this blasted iPhone is no fun. I move in on Friday, and will probably take a week to move in. I'll be back around then
  3. A good closer with longevity will help you outperform your Pythag. A good closer in the playoffs is imperative.
  4. Webster has insane stuff, but he looks very shaken on the mound. He'll need confidence to become good
  5. You don't remember things well, do you? They have meds for that now. Regardless, Zoilo continues to hit well. Ride the hot hand
  6. Just an FYI, velocity is only a part of raw stuff. I'd want to see movement in there too before jumping to that conclusion
  7. So Myles looks like he's either posturing or not signing at all. Whenever you drop the "not acting in good faith" line, it doesn't bode well to business discussions continuing
  8. There is no doubt in my mind that Bradley starts in CF on opening day for you. Ells is as good as gone. One thing they have to work on with him, though, is his study of the game. One of the pregame interviews, Eck said that the kid made a comment about not watching a lot of tape, and being a see-the-ball, hit-the-ball kind of hitter. Learning and researching makes it a little easier out there and is a necessity of the professional hitters, so he'll need to work on that to reach his potential
  9. And people wonder why I want to see these kids give it a shot. David Adams is better than his .200 AVG and Zoilo isn't as good as he is today, but both of these guys have a big league future and we need to see if its with us or elsewhere. I'd rather see these kids fight for it than watch Vernon "the corpse" Wells or Reid "I suck" Brignac play.
  10. that's how it was when I moved in college
  11. It has nothing to do with sensitivity, more about correcting inaccuracies
  12. 1. I logged on since the sox blew another save and we were talking about Paps. 2. I made said prediction when Youk, Granderson, and Teixeira all came back. That prediction wont be made again unless we are somewhere near you guys and all our players come back healthy 3. I am moving. It's called packing. When you move from one large house into an enormous one, you need to pack up your s*** and move. It takes weeks. And before that, you must haggle the sale of your home and the purchase of another. This is no act. I don't actually move for another week, but much packing still needs to be done
  13. If you can get a young Varitek and Lowe for Bailey, you'd take it
  14. The question is, could he be better Vernon Wells?
  15. BTW, why aren't we signing Manny Ramirez? Yeah, he looked washed up in Chicago, but I am sure he took a s*** ton of PEDs over the last 2 yrs and would be a hell of an addition if his roided ass can hit like a fraction of what he used to. Why the hell not? I don't care if he can only play 30 games before getting a lifetime ban for PED usage. We could use 30 games of offense from anyone right now
  16. 3 runs on a bloop single, 2 walks, wild pitch, sac fly and groundout.
  17. The funny thing is, this Yankee team seems to pick and choose which games they are going to win. They come out of the gate dead or firing and there is no inbetween. First game yesterday, they were swinging well from the start. Today, they look dead with no sense of life in their ABs
  18. The sox have their ace in Buchholz for now, and while Lester has been lackluster, Lackey and Dempster have given you quality innings. The downturn is in the pen, and the sox need work there. Getting Lee would help, but if you're going to go for the biggest impact, a proven closer is where its at
  19. I just don't get how Wells is still playing. He's hitting under .100 since the start of May. That's not a slump, that's the average of a layperson taking the dish.
  20. He signed with the Yankees as their biggest offseason acquisition, hurt us when he played, and now is done for the yr while getting $13 million of the Yankees dollars. I'd say that signing worked out great for the sox
  21. The sox are 26th in the MLB in save percentage at 59%. They have blown 9 out of 22 save chances. One of the reasons why this hasn't been a big issue is that the sox are 26th in save opportunities, meaning they are bludgeoning teams when they win rather than a lot of late nailbiters. When you want to see why the Yankees are sticking around, they are 1st in save % at 90%. That is the reason why a clearly inferior team is still hanging around with you is because they take care of business when they get a lead. If the sox had an AL average save percentage, they'd have won 3 more games and theyd be 6.5 games up on NY and 4.5 up on Baltimore right now. If Bailey keeps slumping, the upgrading their pen is a priority. If you got Papelbon, I'd say the sox win 100 games
  22. Papelbon is only guaranteed $12.5 mil per through 2015. If the sox nab him at the deadline, they'll be on the hook for 2.333 years and about $30 mil. That sound a lot less daunting than 4yr $50 mil with a $13 mil vesting option. And, the option only vests if he finishes 15 games in 2015 or a total of 100 games between 14 and 15. Meaning that, if you don't get your money's worth through next season, then he's removed from the role and a FA after 2015. It isn't exactly crazy money when you see what Soriano is making. The only crazy thing about it was the length, which has significantly shortened up to now. If Bailey continues to suck cock and the 9th inning becomes the sox yearlong bugaboo, then a deal for Paps is not just an option, but likely IMO
  23. So he's "slightly" under slot when I said he'd get full slot value. That's not much of a victory for you. What was a clear loss for you was your prediction on Clarkin
  24. BTW, just wanted to point out that you were wrong. Apparently Clarkin agreed to slot practically right after the draft, but couldn't be finalized until he graduated HS and passed his physical, which he did last week
