    Back when the team had backbone, he looked to be a major improvement at 3b. Now that this team has faded to nothing, I would rather we finish lower. Even a shell of ARod can hit better than our 3bs. We have the worst production from 3b in the entire league, and it isn't close. Our 3b's have a .572OPS

    I care about the game, but I have said before that I don't really give a s*** about the whole steroid issue. I still believe that a large amount of the players have taken substances that give them an illegal advantage, so it's more if you aren't cheating you aren't trying. In the end, I wish they all could be clean, but I am a realist. But if we can get a complete and total cheater out of the game and an absolute bear of a contract off our books, then I'm all for it.

    BTW, I have a scenario for you. Let's say Buchholz comes back, throws 5 good starts in September and then is serviceable in October, assuming the sox get there. Do you trade him?

    He's gonna get a 5yr $50 mil deal. Would you rather pay him $10 mil for a third of a season or pay him $10 mil for all of 2014? I think this is a procedural move. He gets league minimum this season to get acclimated in the minors and then starts his contract next yr

    This is yr 4 of Lackey's contract. But because of last season, the sox now have a league minimum option for his 6th year. You've got him for what amount to $16 mil over the next 2 seasons (2014-15). If he produces at this level for those yrs, he'll be a f***ing steal.

    You don't throw a guy who just got off the boat into a pennant race. This Cuban guy will need some time in the minors before he can contribute. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a team sign him for 5 yrs starting in 2014.

    Olt looks like he's just turning his yr around as well. He had some vision issue initially. They are gonna be really hard to beat in the postseason, but they did just purge a TON to get a rental they cant get anything for at year's end. Makes you wonder what we could get for Cano...

    Soriano went on a 1 week tear, otherwise, his season has been pathetic. He's a mid .700s OPS guy who might steal 20 bags, but brings pathetic defense and strike zone discipline. We're just throwing s*** against the wall and hoping it sticks. I bet this is the bell sounding Hafner's final days in the Bronx. Once Jeter comes back, I think Hafner gets DFA'd

    They're taking advantage of the same loophole they did with Wells and having the Cubs pay for nearly all his salary next yr while taking on his salary this yr. He's better than Wells, but can we f***ing stop trading for guys way past their prime? This trade just reinforces the fact that we're staying under the lux tax for next yr and we're gonna suck
