    Bird s 3 for 3 with 3HR and 6RBI tonight. His ceiling is immense. 14HR with 6 weeks to go in his first long season as a 20 yr old. He very well may hit 20. He is probably going to be in Tampa to start 2014 and will probably start moving faster

I doubt you'd find many Yankee fans who think this team can contend and it shows in the attendance. We came into this season thinking the Yankees needed one big month out of the replacements and we got it. Now, we need a big season, and they don't have it in them

    Ellsbury can smell the cash and he's gunning for it. He isn't in line for what he was getting had he continued his 2011 success, but he's looking at a $15+ mil per yr deal on the open market

    So Pedroia isn't leaving Boston if the sox try to lowball him? That's asinine. The guy will get a big contract and he deserves it. My guess on the open market would be $17-$20 mil per annum extension. Seeing as they have him through 2015, I'd say more in the $16-17 mil range for 6 yrs would do.

    O'Brien is an elite hitter who has been in the system for a year. He'll finish his first full pro season in AA and will be a big league option come end of yr 2014

    They're all over the place with reporting his injury. Initially, it was AC joint pain. That's superior to the shoulder capsule. Then it was bursitis, which is lateral. Now they're talking about trapezius pain, which is posterior. There is only on thing with attachments superior (supraspinatus), lateral (infraspinatus is closest to the deltoid bursa), and posterior (teres minor) and that's the cuff.
