  1. It isn't much of a theme. I don't even like hockey. I could care less if the Bruins never win another game or take 10 titles in a row. Last night, the Yankee game wasn't entertaining, I was throwing stuff in boxes and then I passed the hockey game when it was 2-1. I saw 3 goals in a short span and they had me.
  2. He cant be a backup option for Denney. If you lose Denney, you not only lose the player, but you lose the cash
  3. No, unfortunately. I was packing stuff up, then I clicked over to the Bruins game and couldn't take my eyes off it. I don't like hockey, but that was pretty sick
  4. BTW, Clarkin and Gotsue are headed to Tampa tomorrow. Looking pretty good for signing
  5. Cole told the Yankees he would sign with them assuming the money was right. The Yankees had every intention of throwing the moon at him. Boras was his advisor and he said to wait until August to start throwing figures around. By the time August came around, he wouldn't talk money and said he was in love with going to UCLA. The Yankees never offered him anything. This isn't a case of a kid wanting the moon, this was a case where a player flat out lied and never talked money at all
  6. Dellin Betances likely would have failed out of Vandy and he knew it. He fell because of the Vandy commit, but he got first round money
  7. The past two starts, he was on the black and his breaking ball was better located. In this game, his breaking ball is leaking over the plate
  8. That being said, it sucks CC is having a rough game, but we aren't hitting Colon.
  9. In his defense, only 2 balls were hit hard, both homers. The two guys who scored on the 3 run HR got end of the bat hits and the run driven in on Norris' double was a bloop in front of Overbay. Also, I think Norris read the SR. He saw the get-me-over slider and pounded it. CC does that well vs patient teams and the A's are typically patient (at least their GM preaches it). I don't think he was expecting Norris to jump on that pitch
  10. Yeah, we're playing with fire here. But what are you going to do? I'd personally like to see us bring up Zoilo Almonte. Switch hitter with power and speed. I'd rather see what we have down there than continue with these retreads who are either out of position or should be out of a job
  11. Cole lied to the Yankees outright. Gray was picked in the 10th round and offered $500K or so. I am sure that if the Yankees offered Gray $1.5 mil last yr, he'd be in their system
  12. They need to do something with Lester. Last 5 starts... 30IP 38H 23ER 18BB 22K He's walked 3 more in his last 5 starts than he did in his first 10. His mechanics are off. He's flying open instead of staying closed, leaving his ball up and when he flies open quickly, he's missing up and away. They might need to skip him or DL him with a phantom injury to undo his mechanical issue
  13. The guys that are signed via INTL and draft process don't replace those who are proving themselves in the upper levels. Those are typically the guys you want in a trade at the deadline. For all you know, every one of your draft picks could be future HOFers or a bunch of s***
  14. This is a Bill Belichek shot in the dark. If he hits, he'll be set for the next decade too. I think Tebow has the innate capability to be a good QB, I just think his mechanics suck so much that he needs time to work on them in an environment where he isn't jerked around. And if he isn't making progress, the Pats can convert him or cut him without losing anything
  15. I saw that on scout.com. The resident draft guru there doesn't think he signs for overslot. I tend to agree. His slot is worth $1.5 mil plus, that's life changing money
  16. You don't miss by the amount he is missing without some sort of mechanical issue
  17. This looks mechanical for Lester. Farrell looked like he had him fixed and now he's back to the same stuff.
  18. It's 830p and I have work to do, so naturally, I am procrastinating
  19. Jagielo is in Tampa right now and is expected to sign shortly. Judge is in Oakland right now, taking BP with the team. He expects to sign soon. Kendall Coleman said he will sign shortly as well

  21. WMB has always been a power first guy with lots of K's and a minimal amount of walks. Last yr, he was buoyed by a .335BABIP. This yr, he's been pretty unlucky with his BABIP of .237. 7 walks and 54K's in 174ABs isn't gonna get it done in Boston. I have a feeling he stays in AAA for awhile.
  22. 11th rounder Kendall Coleman, a lanky left handed power hitting HS OFer has stated he will be signing with the Yankees.
  23. I think the ST competition will involve 3 players for 2 spots. Middlebrooks has been beaten out by Iglesias right now, which is why he's still in the minors. There is a possibility that Bogaerts beats out WMB for 3b next yr. Or, there is a chance Iglesias takes SS, WMB moves to 1b, and Bogaerts takes 3b
  24. I think Sheffield and Boldt are going to be near impossible signs, to be totally honest. They are both going to require first round pay for injured players, which the sox would be stupid to hand out. And taking less than that on the player's end is stupid as well since both have injuries that typically lead to complete recoveries and with some time in college, they could eventually get their first round money
  25. Jose Iglesias has a BABIP of .508. He is going to crash down to earth
