  1. And Jimenez is losing it. Time to pull him
  2. Decided to look this up, since it always seems the sox are always trailing early in games. The sox have scored 37 runs in the first 6 innings of games this yr. This is game #20, so they have averaged 1.85 runs through the 6th inning this yr. The sox have scored 27 in the final 3 innings, or 1.35 per game. But if you average it out, for the first six innings, the sox are averaging 0.3 runs per inning, but for the final 3, they are averaging 0.45. To contrast that, the sox pitchers have allowed 58 runs through the first 6 innings so far this yr (2.9 per game) and 15 in the final 3 innings (0.78 per game). Therefore, the sox are, on average, losing 2.9-1.85 by the 7th every game.
  3. Bundy is a rookie. He might be dominant, or he could burn out. Tillman is a guy who can burn through innings, but he isn't a true #1. Their #2 is probably Jimenez, but he's never shown the capability to be reliable aside from one season in Colorado of all places. Chen took a step back last yr and has been destroyed thus far this yr. Norris is a JAG, and Gonzalez was a AAAA player until last yr, and is pitching like one this yr. Their offense is solid, and is likely to remain solid. But I don't have faith that their rotation can hold up
  4. Peavy likely done after this hitter
  5. They don't have the pitching, IMO. Their starters are currently averaging 5.7IP per start, which will totally destroy their pen
  6. Feels like yesterday.
  7. Looks like I have a friend. Sweet
  8. Way too early. Memorial Day is the first mark, but the real mark is the All Star game, IMO.
  9. Peavy doesn't have it tonight
  10. Nava is expected to head to AAA for the Yankee series. He has one more option left
  11. That might be a bit much. The ball didn't reach the wall, and the wall is 32 feet tall. Maybe, on a hot July day, the ball hits the wall, but likely not over it
  12. Yeah, not any more
  13. He's clearly not right.
  14. That makes no sense.
  15. It's April 20th. Victorino is on his way back, as is Middlebrooks. Your captain is recovering from a thumb/wrist issue. If you can get healthy, your team will contend for the playoffs. If it cannot, then it wont be. It's that simple. The sox were very healthy last yr and in the spots they weren't healthy, they were lucky. Like losing Hanrahan and Bailey and discovering the best individual closer season of all time from an aging former starter.
  16. The Yankees have to offer more than the competition. The take home when you work in NYC is so much smaller than everywhere else. The NYC tax is 10%, whereas a place like Seattle has no income tax. Anyone who doesn't expect NY to pay a premium, isn't a good businessman
  17. Put the meth pipe down rj
  18. Vidal Nuno goes out there and throws 5 shutout innings. That was pretty sweet. The kid was awesome last yr before tearing his groin, here's to hoping that continues as he is probably our 5th starter now
  19. Happy Easter everyone
  20. Vidal Nuno will get the first crack. Phelps and Warren are probably next. He tore his UCL, he should get surgery ASAP, and should be an option by midseason next yr
  21. How is outperforming your pythag a hallmark of a s***** team? I'd really like to know that. They have done if for 20 years, with 5 titles to show for it. If that is s*****, I would LOVE to continue to be that s*****
  22. Uh oh. Maybe that's why he has been outright terrible for his first 4 starts of the year. Here's to hoping it is just a strain, but I am not optimistic. He's had forearm strains 2 of the last 3 yrs, and with his elbow now barking, I wonder if that UCL is swiss cheese.
  23. Or the hallmark of a team that's been doing this for 20 years my friend. We have outperformed our pythag for nearly 2 decades. And how is that a hallmark of a s***** team? That makes no inherent sense
  24. Nova left with elbow pain. Uh oh, I have wondered why he's looked like s*** thus far, he might be headed for Andrews
