    Btw, as a former pitcher, mixing rosin with a handful of sweat gets you a sticky substance consistent with pine tar, and rosin is legal.

    Pineda thought the Sox would adhere to the accepted practice of pine tar usage and not call him out. Thing is, if he'd have his it in his glove, nobody would care. But blatantly throwing it on your neck is stupid. Looks like he needed it for grip on the cold night. Maybe he thought nobody would see it because it closely matched his skin color? Not sure, but dumb nonetheless. I'm surprised girardi didn't protest every pitcher who came into the game for the sox.

    Lackey has been torched two games in a row. Pineda has been dominant. The great thing about baseball is that all can change game to game. If Lackey isn't on point, he's dead. This new look Yankee squad is more well rounded than previous seasons, and harder to beat

    I wish I could have watche the game. Aside from two at bats, it looks like Tanaka has his way with the sox hitters. I was expecting a pitchers duel, not a blowout. I'll take it! Pineda on the bump tonight
