  1. Where is Dean Anna when you need him?
  2. Huge K there. CC is learning a little about pitching with reduced velocity
  3. 3 scoreless innings in a row?
  4. I see pitchers are learning about Solarte. This kid kills fastballs. I wouldn't throw him any in the zone
  5. That was homerun #408. I think he has
  6. So i see the board has changed all caps. I like it
  7. Holy f***ing s***. A scoreless first for CC?
  8. Our offense is the balls today. I am really excited to see Cervelli in the 6 hole
  9. Whacking off with pine tar would hurt like hell
  10. He's coming off shoulder surgery. I'm ok with 6 strong for now. He just flat out lost it in the seventh
  11. There's a reason why the sox didn't complain about it, they do it too! Eck on the post game said it didn't bother him that a player used pine tar to get a better grip, he just said it's usually not as blatant. I remember when another pitcher was caught using it a few yrs back and opposing hitters had stated they were fine with it since it meant a better grip and less balls in their earholes.
  12. LOL. I certainly hope not.
  13. Been free for nearly 4 years now, so it's all worth it. But yeah, I don't know how I did it and couldn't do it again.
  14. I still meet with those friends on a yearly basis. But yeah, it's a major life lesson. It gives you drive. Knowing that you're in class from 8-4 nearly every day the first two years, then studying from 5-10 every night and 3 out of every 4 weekends while living on salami and chicken salad, shows character and resilience and a strong GI tract. 3rd yr is hell, but 4th yr was great.
  15. LOL. I was talking about med school. Residency is a good enough salary (came out to about $11 an hour), especially with what my wife was doing. Med school was a ridiculous stretch. But yeah, keep doubting. I don't bother with convincing others anymore. My life is pretty solid right now
  16. He isn't Pedro. Pedro was a tiny man who threw ungodly hard. Lester is a big man who is a f***ing horse. He's a guy you pay up for. That being said, if the sox want to avoid costly payments to older arms, then you let him go. The sox built up a lot of cred this past yr with the title, so they can try to run the kids out there. But they also need to be careful. One or two bridge yrs and the fanbase will be pissed, especially if you let Lester walk and Owens or Ranaudo aren't what theyre being billed as
  17. I remember it well BtR. I was living on $7K a year in med school with my wife making less than minimum wage on a salaried job. I made the best friends of my life during that time.
  18. The first few yrs on your own are both terrifying and exhilarating. Terrifying because you usually are incredibly poor and need to make due on tiny amounts of money. Exhilarating because you are free and if you want to go drinking on a Wednesday night (Natty Ice only the first few yrs) then you can. It's freedom with financial restrictions. You just need to have a plan
  19. Like I've said before, guys take discounts to gain security. My guess is the sox want both a lower AAV and less years. Ain't gonna happen. If Lester hits the open market, he'll start at Tanaka money
  20. One down, 3 more to go. Good win. Pineda was dominant and our pen did their job. Our offense wasn't patient at all, but they scored enough.
  21. You let the kid gain confidence. If he's still raking come mid season, he'll move into a higher slot, most likely #5 for good
  22. Hell of a start! Pineda is back baby! Now let's hope his shoulder is still intact!
