    And people wonder why our pythag is all f***ed up. When we get down by 6 or more, Girardi tries to get as much as he can out of his starter, then he throws in the scrubs until they burn out. When we lose, we lose big. When we win, we win close

    CC has thrown 6 or more innings in every start and he has been victimized by the "bad inning". He's also struck out a ton of batters. He'll be fine, IMO, as he isn't just a fastball pitcher. He is showing adaptation and I think he'll have a sub 4ERA with 200IP this season. Nova runs so hot and cold that we don't have a choice but to stick with him. When he's on, he's got Cy Young type stuff. When he's off, he's a Juggs machine throwing cockshots. It's almost like he lacks fight. He doesn't seem to have the killer instincts that other starters have. The gusto that the great pitchers have, where if they have nothing, they still guy out 5-6IP without getting s*** on.

    Everyone gets on Ells for his injuries, but all three were s*** luck. If Beltre didn't knee him in the ribs, brignac didn't land on his shoulder, and a ball not find it's way fouled off his foot, he'd have had a clean bill of health his whole career

    I don't know where we found this Solarte kid, but he is a pro. He makes consistent contact, has a good eye and can hit for power. I looked at his MiLB numbers, and he has been good all the way through. Looks like we might have found our long term 2b

    The Marlins have two franchise players on their team. They aren't dealing them until they have to, which is probably after the 2015 season for Stanton and after the 2017 season for Fernandez. Before then, they will have to be overwhelmed. Middlebrooks, Betts and Barnes is not enough. You'd need to give up a franchise level player to get one. If you don't give up Bogaerts, you're looking at 3 of Owens, Bettes, Swihart or Cecchini.

    What are you talking about? Stanton is under control through 2016. The Rays dealt Shields and got Myers with that amount of time left on Shields, and he's a pitcher.
