  1. I agree Slav. This was their year to go all in and we still kinda went middle. And we got outclassed in this series
  2. Cannot leave this season unpunished. Cash can follow him. His deadline moves made sense at the time, but they absolutely flopped when they were needed the most.
  3. This offense sucks
  4. That’s true. Also didn’t take into account losing DJ and Beni, 2 high contact guys
  5. Here’s the deal. I definitely blame Boone for game 1. We had a pen that was ready. We went with our rookie who’s scuffling and a guy just off the IL rather than the bridge we are accustomed to. Game 2 was unavoidable due to the lack of hitting, but we also had some small ball chances and we kept swinging for the fences while also putting a lineup out there that doesn’t make contact. Boone screwed up a lot in the ALDS but the Guardians sucked bad enough not to be able to close us out. You can’t make managerial mistakes vs the Astros, you just can’t
  6. Yeah, but it wasn’t. They made some changes in the off-season aimed at making more contact and for the first 3 months it worked swimmingly. Once mid July rolled around, they started striking out more, trying to hammer bombs, and the offense sputtered. Removing IKF from the lineup doesn’t help contact. Bringing in Higgy for Trevino doesn’t help. Having Donaldson in when you’ve got Peraza on the bench doesn’t help. Boone needs to put a contact oriented team on the field tonight or we will waste Cole’s efforts
  7. Yanks need to make contact. That is it. They cannot continue to K at this rate and win. They are getting some guys on base and then blow it by swinging for the fences. Make contact, get on base and play the small ball you were playing the first 3 months of the year. If they cannot generate runs, they will not win. Waiting for the homer run ball against a team that doesn't give up any is a fool's errand
  8. Cole and Cortes games 3 and 4 in the Bronx makes me have some hope but this offense needs a jolt. I get that their pitching is good, but the approach by the hitters has been awful. Too much swing and miss. I’d like to see Peraza get some run instead of Donaldson, who’s looked like a corpse. Cabrera in the OF is fine, he at least can battle. When you remove IKF from the lineup, you lose one of your only contact guys and it shows. They just don’t have any life out there
  9. Stanton doubled, 2nd and 3rd 1 out. Donaldson K. Carpenter K. Donaldson had two on earlier and K. Multiple times we had guys on early and we couldnt do s***. Donaldson still in the lineup is a travesty
  10. I am not worried about his bat. He came into the POs slumping. He will pull out of it at some point
  11. Maybe, didn't realize that
  12. Boone is really making some head scratching moves. German not being used but Schmidt coming in all the time makes no sense. I like Schmidt, but he’s been scuffling in the POs due to inconsistency of his best pitch (slider). Donaldson is a no power auto out. Cabrera has more upside. Astros clearly did their homework on Carp. As he didn’t have a rehab assignment, he’s rusty and literally isn’t seeing the breaking ball. No point in starting him. The game was 1-1 in the 6th. Your pen is mildly tired but still could go inning by inning. No reason to try and get more innings out of the scuffling kid. Should have gone to Trivino in the 6th and take it inning by inning. Really s***** loss. We had verlander on the ropes and let him off by having nothing after Stanton
  13. Josh Donaldson sucks
  14. Please pull Taillon.
  15. Montgomery who??
  16. Taillon looks terrible
  17. Those additions guarantee you’re a bottom dweller in the division. You’re better off buying a premium player, extending Devers and seeing if you can’t build some core guys from the top end talent in the farm
  18. The ALCS could be a beauty but we are already behind the 8 ball. Taillon is a good middle of the rotation starter, but he now has to start twice instead of once. Also, the ALCS schedule is total ********. Its 2 games, one day off, 5 straight. Thankfully game 3 starter is Cole and if there is anyone I trust on 3 days rest, it is him. Should go.. Game 1 Taillon Game 2 Sevy Game 3 Cole Game 4 Cortes Game 5 Taillon Game 6 Sevy Game 7 Cole on 3 days rest
  19. Cole and Cortes shut them down
  20. I am still literally trying my damnedest to figure out why Boone did not go to Holmes in game 3. "Only in an emergency?". You had the chance to take a 2-1 lead and hand the ball the following day to your ace who has dominated the Guardians.
  21. It's baseball, so anything can happen. Taillon is a good starter who gets entirely demolished every now and then. Civale sucks but that Guardians pen is dynamite. With the Yanks pen really in distress, I am definitely nervous about the game. Then again, the offense should shine through early and hopefully Taillon is on his game and we take the victory
  22. Yankees 2, Boone -2, Guardians 0
  23. And he hit a game winning homer in game 3 that turned the series in the favor of the Yanks. Yanks won in 5
  24. Building a winning team and making meaningful progress towards a title are two separate things. You would probably benefit from another down year in the long run while the Yanks, Jays and Rays are in window. Because Bloom didn't blow it up, the sox did not get the bang for the buck they needed at the deadline in terms of long term prospects capable of making a big impact. There are so many holes for the sox and with Bloom at the helm and Henry running things, I doubt they fill them all with top free agents. You are gonna need some bargain basement guys to work out or some prospects to rocket through. I don't think the 2022 season was especially kind to some of the prospects who you needed to make a jump. Yorke for example, fell back to the guy we all thought he was before his big breakout 2021. For 2022, the only tremendously above average players manning positions are Story and Devers. The other guys are maybe above replacement level, but not above an average regular like Verdugo and Kike (albeit barring a return to his career year of 2021). So you're not starting with a strong foundation to build around. And considering Devers is heading into his final year, you may not have the cornerstone of your lineup when the rest of the guys rise either. It is far easier to flesh out a team when the core is intact than it is to build a core. This is why the Yanks cannot let Judge leave. He is the straw that stirs the drink
