  1. Not so bad? Benintendi lost for the POs DJ lost for the POs Stanton clearly hurt in the POs Montas hurt for the POs Chad Green TJS Michael King broken elbow Loaisiga missed time Chapman was hurt and came back useless Holmes threw out his back and was a shell in the POs Effross TJS
  2. German to slot into the 5 hole. Anything we get from Montas is a bonus
  3. So Yanks got some good news on Lemahieu. No surgery needed, should be 100% come ST. Doesn't meant they can pencil him in as a starter. With the OF market dried up and trades less likely, I think the team will look as follows C- Trevino- hit over his head in the first half, cratered the second but was awesome behind the plate calling, blocking and throwing 1B- Rizzo- assuming his back can stay healthy, the old man can swat for sure 2B- Torres- still a very good regular, alternates massive production with tremendous droughts SS- Peraza/IKF- I think we see IKF out the gate, I think Peraza takes his job. The kid has all 5 tools and is ready. IKF was holding the place for him 3B- Donaldson/Lemahieu- I think this will start out as a true time share. If Donaldson's bat returns, then Lemahieu will be deployed as a super sub. If it doesn't they'll lean on DJ in the POs but limit his time in the field as much as they can LF- Cabrera- Oswaldo displayed amazing defense and after an adjustment period, hit well. Hicks will be there if he stumbles, but Hicks likes to stumble too CF- Bader- I love this kid. Too bad he is only here for a year. We will get GG defense, offense can be hit or miss RF- Judge- All Rise, HOF track career thus far DH- Stanton et al- Stanton needs to be given the Lemahieu treatment. Stanton was a world beater before getting hurt and came back looking hurt. I would rotate guys into this role and cap Stanton at 100 games. We have the depth to cover for him Plan needs to be health for the POs. We killed it last year first three months then guys went down. Need to load manage and ensure to the best you can that your whole offense will be there and not limping come October I would still like to see another middle of the order style bat come in. Because when Judge goes cold, the offense cannot hit
  4. Last year I nailed it This year I’ll nail it again. Sox will be either 4th or 5th in division depending on which team, the Os or Sox, has a 4 leaf clover shoved up their ass. Sox win total best case is low 80s. Worst case, 60-something. This is a poorly constructed team that lost a ton of leadership. Top 2 starters from last year gone in Wacha and Eovaldi. XB and JD gone and now Story down for a significant part of the season. You’re leaning on Crank Yanker as a starting C. Your 1b is a rookie, albeit one with high upside 2b is Kike? Not exactly an iron man SS is currently not on your roster, but will suck 3B Devers is gonna mash, no doubt LF Yoshida- unknown outside of knowing his D will be bad CF- Duran? He sucks RF- Verdugo- solid veteran DH Turner- 38 yr old who can probably still hit a bit That lineup is awful SP1 Sale- will he ever pitch? SP2 Kluber- do you want him to pitch SP3- Pivetta- probably more a 5 SP4- Bello- bright spot, but coming off big innings jump SP5- Paxton- he’s allergic to being healthy SP6- Whitlock- probably better in the pen That rotation has some upside but reality is they’ll struggle to stay healthy and you’ll be seeing a s*** ton of Winckowski and Crawford Pen headed by Jansen with Houck and Martin should be reasonable. Although leaning on late thirties relievers with some injury or health issues isn’t a good choice either. This dog don’t hunt. Some Sox fans can see it. The old pink hat rosy glasses people cannot. I’ll tell you I told you so in August but you’ll be licking your wounds
  5. The Sox are gonna be remarkably bad this year. Bottom feeding team that’ll get guys picked off the carcass at mid year .
  6. He's a 1.2-1.7WAR player. He maxed out at 2.1 last year. He is not an answer
  7. If you weren’t gonna sign Bogey, not getting something for him at the deadline was criminal.
  8. This is an F if you’re trying to field a contender. Everyone can see it. If the goal is to avoid potential albatross contracts, maybe a B?
  9. They’re gonna be sucktastic this year. Is there a big prospect for 2024 draft they’re gunning for?
  10. Internal bracing of UCL. Timeline for position players usually 6+ months. So you won’t see him til the ASB most likely
  11. Ok, so 7th inning of a playoff game against the Yanks, Bauer on the hill, sacks packed, Judge up. You’re gonna hope for the home run?
  12. I don’t deal Casas for Lopez. Lopez is a fine back end of the rotation guy, but he’s not a front liner. And Casas has the upside of a middle of the order bat at a position of need. I’d only deal him for a front line guy like Alcantara. Makes little sense with the Sox at this stage to be looking at these guys if the cost is Casas or Mayer
  13. You lost Wacha and Eovaldi from your rotation and added back Kluber, who isn’t very good. You lost a generational talent at a premier position and replaced him with a DH You lost your DH, who was still good and replaced him with nobody And your team won 78 games last year in a buzzsaw division. Baseball is a funny sport in that the best team wins 60% of the time and some years mediocre teams make runs and go to the POs. But the Sox are built to be doormats again without some heavy additions
  14. I don’t bemoan the women either. If Watson or Bauer didn’t have paydays, they wouldn’t be able to pay them for their trauma. These women made a business decision to better their own situations in the setting of trauma. It’s not up to them to fix the criminal Justice system.
  15. https://www.shouselaw.com/ca/blog/rape-vs-sexual-assault/ Deshaun Watson RAPED over 20 women. Raped them. He got away because he paid them off and the women knew they’d get a bigger payday if they didn’t go after him criminally. Seriously, Bauer is a scum human. But someone will sign him. And you’re lying like a bastard if you say you won’t root for him if he’s wearing a Sox uni. You may not like it, but you’re gonna want him to K the hitter with the sacks packed in Yankee stadium and you know it
  16. You can keep telling yourself this, but it’s not likely you’re better than 22 after losing the guys you lost and not replacing them.
  17. Better question is, if the Sox signed him, would you root for him? The answer is rhetorical, we all know you guys would. The same if he signed for the Yanks. Here’s the deal, this guy is a creep but he didn’t get charged and just completed his suspension. He’s an ace level pitcher who will get his shot with someone while making MLB minimum wage. Deshaun Watson just came back to the highest monetary guarantee in his sport after raping 20+ women. It’s gonna happen and we should all be prepared for it
  18. I think it’s a shot across the bow
  19. Devers signing does not make the Sox better in 23 at all. He was there in 22. He was going to be there in 23 barring a trade. This makes the Sox better in 24 and beyond
  20. The Sox are rebuilding. They’re not really going for it in 23. I still stand by that because Devers is now gonna be around for awhile and may just be entering his prime. This means he should be a force as the Sox enter their window again. It never made sense for them to over extend for Bogey. They’re not in window and by the time the Sox get into window, Bogey may be on the decline
  21. No, it does not. This is a 10 year $315 mil or so extension after the arb year. Honestly, Raffy took a discount and he didn’t put an opt out in there. This is a good deal for the Sox as long as he stays healthy and fit
  22. I’m stunned to be totally honest. I never thought the Sox would pony up that kind of dough for anyone
  23. Reading some opinions on Henry prepping for a sale of the Sox. Anyone else think this is coming or even wanted? Henry is the best owner the Sox have had, but his hiring of bloom and passing on signing big ticket home grown players makes me wonder if they’re onto something.
  24. Lol. Red Sox won less games vs the AL east last year than the yanks have titles. They lost their leader plus their best pitcher and are rapidly heading into a rebuild. They’re poised to sell of their final generational talent before 2023 is through. So quit living in the past and embrace the s*** sandwich your team is today.
