  1. buckholtz will be here in september regardless lester tap danced thru fire ever since he walked out on the mound last year he had a 7-21 record but never really dominated anyone his game against the tribe this year was the best game ive seen him pitch since he arrived i love the way he battles and refuses to give in but the guy needs to stop hanging himself with bb's and start attacking the strike zone we didnt trade the wrong guy gabbard had a few a good outings for us but in the grand scheme of things he isnt that good and lesters upside is more promising plus after the battle with cancer the front office wouldve looked very cold putting him on the block and the public relations department wouldve kayboshed any deal involving lester.
  2. 9/1 i believe
  3. renteria softly cried himself to sleep every night he was here theo paid 19,000,000.00 for 1 year of a .270 bat with 35 errors cabrerra was a smooth glove, had lots of speed and occasional power he liked it here and was cheaper than both lugo and renteria we didnt offer him a contract there were some stories and rumors that havent been substantiated anyone with any type of off the wall personality on that club was moved or not tendered a deal with the exception of manny but it wasnt from lack of effort they waived him they had him on the block and they wanted rid of him since they bought the team
  4. he'll get grabbed up this isnt the place for him despite the plethora of dominican mashers before he destroys a potential decent career he MUST AGREE TO A MINOR LEAGUE CONTRACT because he needs the work in the field and he needs the reps at the plate. he wont get the work here hes still a baby because hes waived i beleive he can be demoted but this im not sure of in anycase its over
  5. this will be a real wild finish to the end of september i like detroits pitching the yanks on the other hand a scoring 10 a day minny has the hoss in santana but santana is 11-9 and not as dominant seattle impresses from time to time but they arent that deep in the rotation their pen is good should be a great 8 weeks
  6. funny hoop is a young mans game but the oldest teams are the iron and the youngest teams generally suck im not as psyched as i thought id be the product itself isnt appealing to me like the college game is between the whistles, the chest bumpers who act like heros even when down 20 with 2 to play and the triangle/isolation offense schemes are simply boring these guys will lite it up allen and pierce are tremendous shooters and the big man still has huge #s and agan the other 9 are a complete mystery its infinitley better than what we had so im looking forward to november with a respite from football for a change now the bruins need to pay attention
  7. fkn crisp k's meekly.......bonds is rather pathetic he cant run or field in left anymore his obp is still huge and he can still hit the long ball but without him at dh hes a burden defensively and his complete lack of motion makes him a liability on the base paths more and more teams are just going right at him of course his teamates dont help as their lineup is real soft
  8. bonds didnt get it done on his last ab
  9. the arms and depth of the pen make them the favorites dye wouldve made them prohibitive favorites you dont get a lot of oppurtunity like this in baseball and the man was on the table for the taking
  10. patience big man make him come to you this is why manny is so fkn valuable he backs up the big man UNFUKIN REAL 5-6-3
  11. his dad oughta mind his manners and remember his kid is playing baseball for money and for the yankees for chrissakes this is what insurance policies are for
  12. dont sweat it men he may just have a numb hand for now
  13. call me a pessimist but id prefer manny over moss i hope the kid delivers and sticks it up that umps ass and schilling?? use the glove man,no need to barehand anything till october
  14. meyers never impressed hed come in against the stud lefty and usually walk him ny got him to get papi out i dont know how he fared but after torre pulled him in the 2nd inning of clemens meltdown it was evident his time had come and gone
  15. ya the kids health is a real funny subject we've said all there needs to be said about drew if you think we all are thrilled and defensive about the deal you aint been paying attention and again why not worry about your own back yard l.a. is 2-8 in their last 10 and closer to 4th than 1st not that they matter in the least to anyone outside the nl west but they really dont
  16. his wifes name is sheigh has anyone seen shea hillebrant and sheigh drew in the same room?? is that liz taylor on your arm tommy?? i watched barry zito and his 85mph fast ball stick it up the dodgers ass last evening nice effort shouldnt you be worrying about colorado or sandiego or arizona or some other AAAA club rather than being this obsessed with the best team in baseball?? so drew left los angeles it seems to bother you people in an unhealthy manner. it happens to the best of teams, players leave for more money or better oppurtunity and their fans get upset but generally get over it by the time the allstar game is rolling around. if you want to be upset then you have a good reason to be based on the pitchers i saw last night.... if you looked up ""suck"" in the dictionary you would brett ho ho tomko leading the list Brett Tomko (L 2-9) 5.0 5 3 3 3 1 0 102-63 5.56 Scott Proctor 1.1 1 1 1 2 1 0 27-14 5.40 Joe Beimel 0.2 0 0 0 0 0 0 3-3 4.05 Rudy Seanez 1.0 1 0 0 0 1 0 12-7 4.11 Roberto Hernandez 1.0 0 0 0 0 0 0 9-4 3.52 its difficult for me to reason with some of the people in here about the lack of nl west talent but these names alone make a solid case for ned colletti and any loyal dodger fan to kill himself roberto hernandez brett tomko and rudy seanez IN THE SAME GAME ON THE SAME TEAM?? jesus christ why would you worry about jd drew with these f***ing wankers on your staff??
  17. yanks are the hotttest team in the game at this point the difference in starting pitching will prevent them from catching us but they are certainly in the race and in the wild card hunt too. i bet them yesterday, i parlayed them with the reds....it was easier to watch the reds meltdown when the wager was lost at 2oclock.... that proctor move doesnt make sense, the guy they picked up is a good ballplayer but the yankee pen has been used like a 10.00 bronx whore and with a few 4-5 inning starters on that staff they have no business dealing durable arms if they intend to succeed wheres ramiro mendoza and aaron small when you need them
  18. no im not chacha shes a good friend of mine though chacha just got out of surgery herself and is supposed to be cutting my wife and sons hair at 10am hi g,hope all went well shes over here because its a sox forum and she knows the game a bit she didnt consult with me when she joined or what she posts shes a good lady and a great boston sports fan and ive known her longer than most of you people have been alive i feel comfortable in my own skin and the last time i changed my name was when the sox lost game 3 against the whitesox in 05... not that i need to give you guys an explanation but just the same i dont want carmen miranda to be thought of as my avatar fair enuff folks?? drews 17mo old son has been sick i dont know the degree of illness nor the length of time the baby has been down if the kids been sick all year its a valid excuse for his pathetic efforts this year but it dont explain his frequent time off over his career. we can only wish the baby and family God speed and jd drew to get a streak of meaness across his ass for the strectch run. geri doesnt that metro guy look like ray patriaca jr or hawk lanzetta??
  19. ainge saved his job and took our odds from 50-1 to 7-2 to win the east. he did mortgage the entire future of this team but we are a 50 win team on paper and a legit contender to make the nba finals for real i dont have any reservations about this deal but there are some things to consider garnett is a great ballplayer but has never won allen is a great shooter but has never won in the nba pierce is a great ball player who hasnt won anything in college or the pros these men are now in their 30s and have legged some huge minutes over the years we dont know how they will play together. the big mystery is who we will put around these guys will baby davis be good enuff to make an impact as a power forward in this league?? leon poe had some moments last year that showed hes capable of being a decent role player, how about the point?? who is going to feed these 3 guys who will expect 20 touches a game? too bad billups resigned with detroit, add him into the fold and now we got a legit pop to shoot the sherbert 4 of my friends bought season tix yesterday the last time i went they played philly over the winter and we're down 37-28 with 2 to play in the 1st half my kid fell asleep,my dad was pissed i got him off his chair and the entire crowd looked like the cast from YO RAPS,complete with bling and loud cell phone discussions. it was f***ing disgraceful i think things will be a lot different this year, thank christ they matter again
  20. dye hit more hrs last month than drew hit all year our 1 glaring and most obvious hole is the 5 hitter and specifically clutch hitting in that slot. dye, with manny in front and lowell or youk behind wouldve flourished... i also felt lowell youk pena and jd drew would fill that hole as well so what the f*** do i know... anyways i do know getting gagne made delcarmen somewhat expendable delcarmen will never be a starter or a closer so with his 2.00 era he carries today he may indeed be at the height of his career as a middle guy who can potentially be a set up man. dont get me wrong here. i was born 5 minutes from the kids house,i like delcarmen and i want him to succeed but not at the expense of the redsox october success. our future staff is secure we got 3 starters under 27 locked up long term with a s*** load of minor league talent, some of which will be here in september when we expand to 40 men. we got ancient mike timlin who has pitched very very well since his return we will have tavares coming back to the pen,ya i know he is sketchy but in short stints he can be effective,we got a decent long man in snyder who has a big league curve ball but tends to fade with too much work and then you got 2 leftys to close out the pen in lopez and oj....the bridge to paps and or gagne is built and moving delcarmen wouldnt effect what amounts to be the best bullpen in baseball in my opinion. im not totally depressed over not getting dye for the stretch run but i do think they shouldve pulled the trigger if the price was a mediocre/currently decent middle guy and pena.
  21. the yanks dumped their biggest inning eater out of the pen. is this a sign of surrendering despite being only 7 out of 1st and even closer to a wildcard? ive seen betemit quite a bit this year hes a good ball player but the yanks dont seem starved for offense. did mrs farnsworth demand they move proctor so he can get the ball in meaningful situations?? proctor, despite his obvious mediocrity, did serve a valued purpose for joe torre and now he will have to trust someone else to come in after clemens and mussina fail to reach the 6th
  22. mdc or hansen with wilymo for jermaine dye is too much? we have 3 starters now under 27 and signed for the long haul we have buckholz bowden and this other guy justin masterson in the fold we signed a set up guy who has pitched very well in texas so why is manny delcarmen untouchable?? of all our needs the 5 hitter has been the most glaring hole. mdc is perhaps at the height of his career,a 6th or 7th inning relief pitcher with a 4+ era hansen may never get there at all pena will never get there as long as hes in boston the 5 hitter theo signed for 70million isnt capable of getting it done in that slot and jermaine dye is just that,a legit 5 hitter sure hes hitting .235 but isnt that about 30 points higher than our #5 hitters are performing at now?? i love the gagne move but if i got a pop for jermaine dye for mdc or hansen or pena i do it without looking back, especially if ortiz is banged up and with the never ending saga of jd drews chronic menstrual pains.
  23. my little brother works in the same building as nfl headquarters he too owns a bulldog but he is more inclined to sick the dog on these f***ing PETA **********s who seem to have independant wealth becauase they dont seem to do anything but protest for a living.
  24. i remember earlier in the season when igawa was pitching against boston our good friend jackson was briefing us on the myriad of pitches that igawa would be throwing. lots of movement on the fastball, biting curve,an 11-5 slider etc.... i think the sox got 6?? off him in the 1st few innings and the next line we got out of our man jackson was THIS GUY SUCKS anyways it was funny at the time delarosa is a good pitcher by the way. the yanks are on fire but they just played 4 with kc and we played 4 in cleveland and didnt lose any ground... the way their playing they'll have a shot at the wild card for sure and i suspect before august is over they'll make a legit run at the division
  25. you think they may give him some wiggle room here?? perhaps its going to be a hi profile and very expensive case to prosecute. hes got little options and the witnesses are aligning in mass to hang him the feds may indeed be looking for him to plead out, give him a year to serve and have the knowledge that vick is out of the endorsement game and current athletes will no longer be interested in fighting dogs. or they may run the gammit get the conviction and put his cute smarmy ass in atlanta's federal prison for 5 years with a guy named lamar who strangled his family of 8 with a garden hose because they put his dog to sleep. trial set for late november have they determined if he will see the field at all this year??
