My brother does a lot of immigration work in NY. The islanders have a hard time getting work or student visas here because once they arrive they tend to stay. We had a Jamaican lady working the phones for us in Negril who was a beauty queen. Vanessa Grayson was her name, a Vogue covergirl and a woman who could stop traffic on the Southeast Expressway with a smile. She ended up going all over Europe to model from Paris to Milan to Prague ,the lady had it all... except a US Visa and immigration wasnt budging back then. I set her up with my brother for help and they found that if you have an exclusive talent, like being a ballplayer or a boxer or some unusual field of talent then visas come easy, shes now in NY working for more per hour than I make in a month. Immigration isnt as hard today as it was say 5-6 years ago, my dad was a Boston player in Irish immigration reform and my brother has carried the torch since his passing..Just in case a young lady on board here is in need of a letter or a phone call I am in a good position to reach out and get it done.

9/15 vs Angels. Dice-K returns.
Mr Crunchy replied to Jasonbay44's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
I dont know how 11ip in march would f*** him up as badly as it did but something was wrong. Rumors of being out of shape, refusing to handle the work load assigned to him by the sox pitching guru's and just plain dead arm syndrome were flying around but we still have no valid explanation as to why he sucked as incredibly as he did. When Penny and Smoltz sucked and Wake was shelved it had to have been tempting to throw him back into the fire but they didnt panic and hopefully now he has a more aggressive attitude going into October, it was his 1st start that i didnt have to channel surf by the 2nd inning. -
9/15 vs Angels. Dice-K returns.
Mr Crunchy replied to Jasonbay44's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
Last night you could hear 10,000,000 Yankee fans mumble ohhhhhh shiiittt after the DiceMan cometh. Great effort and if this works out as planned you gotta hi five the organization for its sheer brilliance in sitting this guy for 3 months and letting him work things out. Anaheim plays good baseball, theyre hotter than a bullsdick in the barnyard and score a lot of runs and looked absolutley lost at the plate last night. this will be huge if hes capable of giving us 6IP with a sub 3 era down the stretch -
Why would these retards get into a pissing contest with this f***ing team? They got everything to lose and nothing to gain and once again its that cock breathed Posada in the middle of the fray... Now that they dont have Don Zimmer to protect them who's going to save the Mabeline twins from getting pummeled? Hopefully Toronto doesnt come out throwing bean balls this evening, we'd hate to see a guy like Texeira have a broken hand over something like this and we'd hate to see one of their pitchers get shanghai'd from behind and slammed to the ground. *******s, simple simon motherf***ers dont have the sense to let sleeping dogs lie.

Fantastic Article on JD Drew (good long read)
Mr Crunchy replied to CalvnHobs6's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
What a nice story but when I read Eddie Murray and Mickey Mantles names on the same page as JD Drew I start gagging bits and pieces of lung and stomach lining. The man has played well since we last discussed his game, lets hope he continues into October as we're going to need as much offense as possible to get it done this year. -
I dont know too much about Harry Potter other than the fact that I feel like spraying the dudes dressed up like wizards as they wait in line with machine gun fire, i swear i saw a dude dressed up like the broad who played aunt clara from bewitched over at the cleveland circle cinema last summer. It is good entertainment for at home viewing, sitting thru a 3 hour movie makes me too anxious these days....In any case that Kelly kid is supposed to be the next phenom coming up and y'all were dead on accurate with Bucholz being an untouchable, hes really come on in the 2nd half and is acting like he understands what it takes to stay with the big boy club. I s*** on Theo a lot, this is my God given right however I applaud the moves he hasnt made as much as I applaud the moves he has made...Alex Gonzales can hit? Billy Wagner aint finished? VMart has been better than expected too....The bad is Smoltz and Penny not being able to pitch in the AL East. I dont blame him for trying these guys out, there wasnt that much invested in them and its obvious they have something in the tank as theyre both pitching fairly well in the NL with Penny being unhittable all of sudden.
-
Fukin petey is 5-0 and is hitting the low 90s again and of course Brad Penny is 3-0 with an era under 2 and Joelle Piniero has 16 wins this year and Smoltz has an era of 3.77 in StLouis. I dont see any of these guys ever making it in the Al, all of them got beaten like a cranky wife after the superbowl while in the American League.

Hes got some real issues in his spine, just hearing him discuss the injury makes me sore. Inflammated nerves, disks out of whack, vertebrae chips, etc...As much as i love the 175-200IP he used to give us I dont see him ever approaching that figure again and lets face it, we'd all have strokes watching wakefield come into the game from the bullpen cause nobody can throw up crooked #s as fast as Wakefield can when hes off. I love the guy but its time to put the glove down and pick up a golf club if he can

Phil Hughes needs to find his way into the rotation in my opinion and Joba needs to get back to setting up Mo.Hughes has been real good and his arrival is one of the premier reasons the yanks have stormed to the best record in the game. hes saved that bullpen along with the always MVP contender Mo Rivera but with AJ Burnett and Joba being unreliable I would spend the next 3 weeks getting Hughes stretched out for longer outings and a maybe a 100 pitch start before the season ends. hes been that good and in a short series you dont want his arm rotting on the bench if their starters get pounded which is a good probablility based on what we know of Sabbathia in October and how the other giabrones have been pitching as of late...

Being of Irish ancestory I freely admit that I think the queen is a man and the Battenberg tribe is living proof that Horse and human copulated, conceived and continue to breed. Have you seen Anne? That broad was an oat eating horse woman if there ever was. Id like to see Phillip get ass raped as Charles watches and the Queen cheers on the raper... Honestly speaking the Brits have taken the loss of the empire better than i thought they would but why has there been civil war in every single nation that was colonized by the English?..Outside Canada where the Quebecois seccesionists have lost their steam every nation England colonized has been lit a fire due to their strategy of dividing and conquering..Afrika, the USA, China, Pakistan/India/Bangladesh, all of these nations have killed 100s of thousands of their own in civil war due to British policy and this doesnt mention the fact that 1/4 of Ireland disappeared from their land back between 1849-1920. The Brits are our cousins, they are our best ally and they are some of the bravest men on earth but if they dislike GWB as the entire world does thats fine but they have to admit that they were the most hated nation on the planet for 400 years until we inherited their role as international policeman.

Gee Dipre got banned? Who wouldve figured this out, i dont like the guy but i hate to see anyone get banned. Even though he was more emotional than a 12 year old girl on the rag whos kitten just got run over by a truck I still hate to see these guys get banned. That being said this guy claimed to be a lawyer yet managed 7500 posts in 9 months and gets pissy with everyone who disagrees with him. hes either under 15 or an emotional basket case. Imagine being his client? This guy has routine anxiety attacks over the most miniscule things and is the most baitable little guy this board has had in my time here. I hate to see people get banned, personally I prefer to ignore them. This guy was perhaps the only guy on this forum that I dislike personally due to his tone, his napoleonic complex and the fact that in his mind he's never been wrong since hes been here and his ""DONT GO THERE DUDE"" attitude as if he owned the f***ing place. If this guys really a lawyer he better change proffessions. but i doubt hes a lawyer, i got 3 of them in my family including my baby brother who i sponsored thru Holy Cross and Tulane, Lawyers come in all shapes and sizes but none of them go into a blind rage when you discuss who the health minister in santo domingo is or perhaps that David Ortiz is finished or Pedro Martinez was on hgh. he hasnt been off this board long enough to be in a courtroom for the length of a trial so I suspect hes full of s***.Im not sure the guy knows anything about baseball either. all his responses were 1 sentence sarcastic attacks or condencending putdowns as if the sport was invented in San Pedro de Macoris for him alone and he was an English proffesor. He'll be back. And hopefully he will be polite and wont act like an old woman with a leaky diaper who ran out of Pepto like my good friend Jackson, who be the way has been a model of good behavior since he was run off a couple years back.. Act civilized even if you aint and this place is decent place to vent. Its impossible to get banned from here unless you act like a bloody **** yet he managed to do just that.

9/13 vs Rays game 2
Mr Crunchy replied to Jasonbay44's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
Beating the ****ing Matt Garza made me smile.... 6 weeks ago i said i wouldve traded lester for halliday straight up if that was on the table. 6 weeks later that was the wrong thing to say and it has nothing to do with Hallidays recent slump but more to do with Lester being a f***ing beast on the mound. He is the best lefty in the game now, f*** cc, f*** johan, f*** em all. Lester is now our #1 and has gotten better each start since his early issues of command have been resolved...ko'ing tampa was essential and now that theyve gottem them out of their hair theyre in great shape to beat texas for the wild card.with AJ Burnett pitching like ass and a traditional October failure like Sabbathia I can see NY going home early again this fall, they are the team to beat but they better hope sabby pitches like hes capable or theyre going to have some real problems against anyone standing at the end of the season, burnett is a jackoff, i figured hed be their best pitcher this year but inspite of his decent start of the season hes been beaten senseless by the sox and his #s have been fading since we hammered him back in July. -
Dodgers Acquire Garland and Thome; Rockies Acquire Contreras
Mr Crunchy replied to Keeper's topic in Other Baseball
More scatine heading to the AAAA league to save the day. I saw Barry""they gave me 100Million"" Zito toss 8 1/3 the other day, Joelle Piniero has an era at 3.00 and John Smoltz looked like he was 30 years old in his last start.. The National League is a f***ing joke, maybe they should consider using asterisks for any record set in the senior circuit due to the incredible difference in talent between the leagues. -
If you dont like Bruschi you must hate America. I generally dont care who plays for Boston sports teams as they come and go for the love of the dollar but this guy was part of the community, negotiated his own deals without an agent and played the game after a vein in his head exploded.
-
Its got to be the heat, in 40 years i think Texas has made the playoffs twice and in many of those years the al west sucked real bad. I think the heat simply breaks down their pitchers and they have had some momumental 2nd half collapses, its too bad, i do like their club a little bit but theyre going nowhere without a #1 and Kevin Millwood isnt a 1.

Gentlemen, Tazawa sucks and has a long way to go just to become MLB horrible. what happened on that Saturday against NY is a nice story but it was a miracle, nothing short of a miracle. Chicago beat him brutally and it is essentially what NY did to him but they just hit ropes right at people while leaving a small battalian of men on base. Quite frankly I would be shocked to ever see him again.

Before we make Kalish a 30Hr hitter I'd like to see him slug a bit higher in AA ball. It would be so huge if he could play his way onto our roster next spring but unless he gets on a bonemeal and dolemite diet his ceiling next year is in Rhode Island. Ellsbury is what he is, a good leadoff hitter and table setter. a guy who should hit .300 the rest of his career and should also win a couple of gold gloves along the way. A perrenial 40sb/105 runs/10 triples/.305 avg a year is expected, a little more power will also come to him as he ages, i dont care about his power #s as long as he continues to set the table and score runs, thats his forte', he shouldnt f*** with whats gotten him here.
-
Kalish is playing in A ball and AA ball and hasnt exactly burnt up the AA pitching. Before we give him the offensive nod over Ellsbury, a man who has hit .300, stolen 55 bases and been an intrical part of this teams 07 w/series as well as a tremendous table setter this year Id like to see Kalish make it out of Portland. In the AL East you best be able to hit 25 Hrs or at least .300 if youre going to start. Kalish has 15hrs this year playing against guys who arent going to make the big show. His power #s have come around nicely but I think Reddick is the better hitter between them 2. Kalish is only 21 too, he has a lot of room to improve his patience as well. Ellsburys #s come in the heat of the battle in the AL East where lefty hitters have a hard time homering to right field and Ells isnt the kind of guy who can go opposite field to use the monster ala Mo Vaughn and Boggs.

Wake is a bargain at 4 Mil, we'd pay 4M to anyone who'd win 11 games in half season. We need him to be effective or at least eat some innings so our pen isnt toasted before October.
-
His slugging, b.a, OBP and OPS #s have fallen since moving up to AA ball. it also seems that hes discovered some power yet has lost some of his patience at the plate in Maine. hes 21 and can run very well, how that .270 batting avg in Portland translates in the big leagues is a mystery..I dont think this guy will be helping us anytime soon unless he cuts down on his Ks and gets a little more patient at the plate..If he makes the club it will be on his speed, defense and occasional power.. Some Hrs will come as he gets older but if he wants the big show hes going to have to hit for a better avg with a little more patience at the plate, i dont see this guy blasting his way into the big leagues, hes got more Ellsbury in him than anything else.
-
DiceK got lit up in Portland this weekend didnt he? His cost is essentially 20M per but hes outperformed wang in 1st 2 years here and isnt an abyssmal failure in October as Wang was. both guys arent a factor this year, dice k may have some bullets in a couple of weeks but based on what hes done this year and the money factor involved the yanks get the edge with wang. If 2 guys arent playing then the team that pays least for its failure comes out on top. Hopefully our guy has something to offer down the stretch but it doesnt look all that good.
-
His # should be retired, hes gone to 5 superbowls and returned to action after having a stroke of all things. He's finished as a player but his playmaking abilities and desire for the game were worthy of a retired #...too bad he cant block, this offensive line is rather offensive so far this summer.
-
Chris Carter has to be the biggest flop on our payroll, a cheap flop but none the less disappointing. We got him for a ham sandwhich and he was supposed to have a decent bat with issues in the field. I have to think that he wouldve seen Boston this summer with all our weaknesses on the left side of the plate, he didnt get a sniff of playing time and instead we went with other options. Ny wants him for whatever reason and thats fine by me, he will be a career minor leaguer and wont be hurting us down the road.
