  1. No it will be because he sucks but that isnt the point. after watching these guys operate in the press all these years this s*** is entirely predictable.
  2. Ya I would, theyre highest paid player makes 14M,theyve cut payroll 2 yrs in a row so they can reup Roy faster than you can say Parade on the Charles..Its not eating the proverbial s*** sandwich when you get the best arm in the game to go with Beckett and a cast of up and coming youth. I hate to even mention this but Lester already beat the C once, his dad got it and Ive seen that s*** come back time and time again to take young people out in their prime. we are discussing the best arm in baseball so the price will be steep IF they want him.
  3. Oh Id deal Lester straight up for Halliday but wouldnt add in any prospects
  4. The longer Tito works for these guys the better he'll get at greasing the skids for departure and blatant character assasination.
  5. Ya Im serious, I wondered why they became sellers last year with the season so young and I assumed it was monetarial. The Jake used to sell out and the population can certainly support a team, why has Cleveland become the Montreal Expos of the AL? Copperheads are a snake very common in Kentucky and theyre poisonous. I was told by a relative that theyre aggressive and that he needs to keep his lawn cut down like a golfgreen so he can see them coming when the kids are playing in the yard but he also lives in Paducah(sp) and I dont know where that is compared to Covington. MURRAY -- Kentucky is home to 32 different species of snakes, most of which are not venomous. The four that carry poison are all pit vipers: the copperhead, cottonmouth, pigmy rattlesnake and timber rattlesnake. The chance of encountering one of these species is low. But for many people the fear of snakes, a reaction psychologists term ''ophidiophobia,'' remains very real. Pit vipers have a few distinguishing characteristics that make them easily identifiable from Kentucky's non-poisonous snakes. Their eyes have vertically slit pupils (non-venomous snakes eyes have round pupils). Pit vipers also have a ''sensory pit'' ...
  6. Ya but if Halliday goes to Boston and helps us win a title while Toronto is myred in last place with Baltimore JP's ass is on the line and Toronto is a fickle town, they dont show up unless its hockey or the Js are winning...They had 4M in attendence a few years in a row in the 90s when they went back to back but after the strike they never really came out for them..Sox games in Toronto are essentially home games for us now.
  7. My God, a real live Guardians fan from Kentucky? Do you really have to keep your lawn cut like a golf green to make sure the copperheads dont waltz all over your yard? I had a cousin that lived in Paducah(sp) that told me that once. Hi, I am Sean and a long time admirer of the Cleveland sports scene. I wont bore you with memories of David Justice or Edgar Renteria or Kevin Mack or Bernie ""I got such a deal for you"" Kosar but I wanted to let you know that I do admire you guys very much and hope some day that y'all can be blessed as we were in the past few years. What happened to the Tribe? Cleveland is 5xs bigger than Boston and they go and sell off their iron just after taking a 3-1 lead against us in the 07 pennant? Is attendence that low in Cleveland or is it a tv thing? I just dont understand how you can be so close to getting there and then essentially punting on 3rd down from midfield.
  8. I think Joba is going back to the bullpen in October unless 1 of the above mentioned 3 guys is hurt. Phil Hughes has been a steadying influence in the pen and hasnt melted down under pressure yet this year. of course the fun is only beginging and lets face it, the pressure is on in NY to win this year. I wonder how these guys will react to the pressure. Sabby Tex Burnett Coke Hughes, none of these guys have felt the pressure that will be coming down on them come October, maybe they can have a closed door session with Arod to see what he does in between games to relieve the pressure. Perhaps Madonna will be giving out blow jobs as if she were at the NBA AllStar game to help the cause.
  9. Halliday almost guarantees 2 straight trips to Octobers tourney and probably another parade. This guy is the best pitcher in the game, will throw 375 innings for us in the next 1.5 years and can be counted on day in and day out.. I dont see the former Holy""we dont recruit"" Name hoop coach selling this guy inside the division under any circumstances but we've seen funnier things happen.
  10. The Yankees are killing bookmakers all over the f***ing planet this month, thankfully last night they gave a little back..Ny needs some stability in the pen and health down the stretch and they will be very difficult to beat out of the division but in a short series I like Beckett and Lester and our bullpen over their 1-2 and pen combo. If we didnt have Ny on their knees in our head to head battles we'd be sucking hind tit now and either moving money out of town or selling the farm for a quick fix. As it stands Ny is obviously the team to beat and in the National league the World Champs are looking like theyre clicking on all cylinders and will be back again.
  11. All I ever wanted in life was tomorrows newspaper delivered today
  12. 20M per for DiceK when you do the entire package. It still startles me when I see his 08#s, I dont know how a guy can win 18 games while never seeing the 7th inning and having 100 pitches thrown by the 4th inning.
  13. Whats sad is 50- 60% of the payroll being dedicated to Lugo,DiceK, Drew and Ortiz. I dont want to hear about any monetarial concerns preventing this team from making a move on a stud come Friday.
  14. Perhaps one of his cousins got knocked up and hes waiting to hear from State of Louisiana about the pending paternity suit?
  15. Dont underestimate the value of a closer, Keith Foulke circa 2004 made a lot of people forget the closer by committe in 2003 and the Calvin Schiraldi/Bob Stanley duet of 1986 that sent 1000s of women to shelters statewide.. Think NY would have been so successful without Rivera? Or the Phils last year with Lidge?..It goes on and on so I wont bore you. We will need a healthy and effective Paplebon if we hope for October success, this is a fact of life that we should get straight now and I dont see any chance at all of anyone not named Paplebon getting the ball in the 9th with the lead. Next year maybe different and I would also expect the sox to allow him to leave on his own no matter what when this contract is up but for the time being Jon Paps is our closer and we should be grateful we got him.
  16. I wouldnt cash in all my Paplebon chips just yet, the man is closing in THE most difficult division in the game and still has a sub 2 era with 3 blown out of what 27-28 saves? Nick Green didnt lose the game but Christ almighty this is MLB and I expect a lot more from a ss. If he cant throw to 1st with confidence I dont see much use for him, Jed Lowrie isnt winning the job but Green is making it easy for him
  17. JJ was an incredible defensive coach and I love his balls to the wall approach to the game. Skin cancer, Jesus Christ you'd think they would have this beaten by now. Its a disease that all of us who spent 18 hours a day outside should worry about. Having the luxury of growing up on Long Beach in Rockport and spending many winters in Miami I can almost guarantee I will get it some day.My dad had it, 3 uncles had it and my aunt died from it at 47. The Sun is a killer if you dont care for yourself and they say the damage is done early in life.
  18. This is somewhat of a break for NY, at least they know where they stand going into Friday
  19. Saito closed well in LA for a couple of years and Bard has been great but this is paplebons team and last night was a blown chance and a classic f***bag of an inning.
  20. Nick Green says hello, what a f***ing abortion last night, just plain bad baseball from the pitcher to the shortstop, does paplebon feel compelled to give us all s*** pains every time he gets the ball? This aint nessesary and Nick Green really needs to find some other place to f*** up other than in the 9th inning with men on base.
  21. I like Dice BB, very original and quite fitting. Good to see the kids getting along, lots of frustration on board
  22. Could it be that Jeds hitting .073? Thats my point Teddy, the fan base will evaporate faster than you can say ""Au Bon Pain section 18"". Its not like Im starving, I do pretty good financially but I cant justify blowing a mortgage payment to see the Royals on a Tuesday in April when I have a 62inch tv at home that can show how far Torre gets his knuckles into his nostrils. Ok kids Im off for the night, keep the faith, Yankees suck, Buy Union, practice safe sex etc...
  23. Hey, I was in your backyard Sunday...What the f*** is going on with rte 95? Every 10 ramps they have a delay, i stopped to eat in f***ing Bridgeport due to traffic
