  1. 75 games without a HR? Today is as good as any to listen
  2. Claude Lemieux scored almost 400 regular season goals?? thats how much hockey i watched in the last 15 years and how much i adored the trap that Lemaire and Robinson put together in Jersey but this guy was never a substantial goal scorer, longevity makes up for it I guess. i noticed his career high was 41,not hall of fame material but good #s. I also noticed 3 years he scored more playoff goals than reg season goals. i guess i remember that 86 season more than others, 10 reg season games 1 goal, 10 goals in 20 playoff games and the HABS won it all that season. anyhow The game is much better now with the skaters having a little more room and we no longer have to see soccer like scoring, i dont mind the occasional 1*0 game but a few years back if you were down 2 you knew that you were toast.. Claude Lemieux...379 goals...wouldve bet my life against it.
  3. Vanevery should be our regular right fielder seeing as though Drew ""strained"" his quad or his hammy or his back or his instep or his hand.....again. Has ortiz homered since manny left? Would drew have dived for that ball van every caught without being out for the year. Has there ever been more discussion about Mike Remlinger and Terry Adams than on this thread
  4. The man has disgraced the Yankees, the game of Baseball and his own family. Sure hes going to make 500M playing the game but at what point do you sacrifice being a ballplayer to become a douchebag?
  5. Why must you put cc sabbathia in the list of the best 3 pitchers in baseball? I dont mind incessant ballwashing from time to time but this is just making you look silly. This isnt Milwaukee sonny jim, he gave up 4 the other nite and you called the performance ""dominant""....Ya dominant.... 4earned against a team thats hitting behind washington is dominant? What i witnessed when Inge took his hi outside cheese 475feet foul was a guy who dont have much gas and has been pummeled by the redsox historically, if he cant beat us whats his use to you? Do you sashez around the house with clothes pins on your nipples when he pitches?? Ya i get it now. Johnson in your right hand, 3 fingers of your left stuffed up your ass screaming faaak me you southpawed Nubian God....FFAAAK ME Carlston.... Christ almighty, the guy cant pitch early in the year, cant pitch late in the year and yet you have the unmitigated balls to suggest hes in the top 3 of baseball? cc sabathia isnt the 3rd best pitcher on the f***ing yankees, never mind baseball. When will you learn that salary doesnt dictate talent? Are you watching these games from some asylum that we dont know about or has your vacation to Nicaragua given you a trace of the swine flu?? Anyway I'd like the guy to get out of the 3rd inning of a playoff game with his hat still on before Id classify him as anything but another yankee gag artist with 100 more lbs of blubber. for the record Josh Becketts era in Boston including the playoffs is 4.40 he sucked last October, the october before he won us a title, in 2006 he was the Eric Milton of the American League, in03- 04-05 he was often injured, thats been cured but hes been inconsistant this year and if he cant beat NY or hold them to 4 or under quite frankly I have no use for him. Its about the name on the front of the jersey, not the back that I worship. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, ITS A BANNER f***ING DAY IN THE VALLEY OF THE MIGHTY BLACKSTONE.
  6. Apr 29 971 BOS RED SOX J LESTER -L -135 o9½-105 -1½+120 4:05 PM 972 CLE Guardians F CARMONA -R +125 u9½-115 +1½-140 From Cy young contender to a home underdog goes Fausto Carmona Apr 29 973 NYY YANKEES CHAMBRLAIN-R -140 o9-130 -1½+110 4:05 PM 974 DET TIGERS R PORCELLO-R +130 u9+110 +1½-130 When Joba pitched in Boston we had 14 baserunners in 5.1 ip, perhaps this is why the team that spent the GNP of Bangladesh on 3 players is an underdog this evening A 2.62 whip dont win you too many road games but the yanks are on a roll winners of 1 of their last 5 and I think this redskinned Crown drinker shows up tonight. Im taking the yanks here and Im thinking over 9 in both games.
  7. Jacko gets excited when the yanks have a guy who keeps the ball in the park, you cant really blame him. hes had man love for boogaloo sean chacon, aaron small and briefl affair with al leiter. on a serious note this guy has been pegged to be great but what arms have the yanks produced recently that have had big league success? he should be excited MJ was he hitting the corners?....you redundant prick.... Its actually good to see you excited again
  8. Ever see the play when he fired the ball of lambiers face from 6 feet away? Or the preseason brawl involving Dr J,Caldwell Jones against Larry Bird and 80 yr old Red Auerbach? this was in preseason mind you, who gave a f*** about preseason? Bird did and while he was fighting the Philly bench Red came down from his 20th row seat and grabbed J by the throat,Billy Cunningham wanted no part of Auerbach's insanity so he hid and then a chair came down from the Lodge seats causing pandemonium in which the cops had to seperate both teams, I think thats when ML Carr stomped on Andrew Toney's ankle as he was hitting Rick Roby from behind, forever altering his career... Yes a preseason game. the preseason after Milwaukee swept them in the quarter final., that season they won it all and that night set the tone.
  9. I just saw this in the herald 7. Old School - From reader RL - Best Red Sox Staff Ever - 1912 / 18 team shutouts / 105 complete games / team ERA 2.76 / 1.19 whip Smokey Joe Wood 34-5 Buck O’Brien 20-13 Hugh Bedient 20-9, Charley Hall 15-8 Ray Collins 13-8, 105 complete games? what would this staff cost in todays dollars?
  10. I have a difficult time the day after a pathetic loss and inspite of an 11 game run i still have s*** pains after watching the highlites from last night. In fact i may put my old roy clark and buck owens cd in when i drive out to chicopee later. its that bad
  11. Love the hot goalies when the weather turns warm... Carolina beat Jersey and Martin Brodeur finally appears human in the playoffs. Anaheim too, SanJose did gag but the Ducks earned it and their goalie is blazing, they got that ********** Neidermeyer who always finds his way into the big show. The hawks are good but young The caps are having trouble in net and Pitt has Sidney who is tremendous but in the east Boston appears to be more balanced than the rest and should come thru. In the West its Detroit and everyone else, i think anaheim is their true test. Boston Detroit final and the Wings are just too deep with 4 lines and several defensemen who have the ability to score...My wife and daughter were watching some show with a chick who had a pig face but was wealthy when i came home, this is why i missed 2 game 7s,all of baseball and the celts ot game last night?? HA, i'll start parking my fat ass on the couch at 505 and will secure the remote so i dont have to deal with any further interuptions.
  12. Great effort by Phil Hughes last night, he could be the missing link that they been looking for this century.
  13. Youre not going to win a lot of games when you commit 3 errors, Lugo could be shot legally if we were in Columbia, my mother in law with Dementia and Paranoid Psyzophrenia wouldve caught the ball Lopez lost. hey, 11 in a row and it is what it is to lose to reyes is an insult and a temerity but we move on and play again today. ****ing lugo, my god i hate him....
  14. Of course we are talking about a different era as well Bird came in 79-80 pierce in the mid 90s Players today are bigger stronger and faster but are they better collectively? Id say the NBA of the 80s was its peak as far as interest goes and you had a variety of clubs that won or couldve won...The knicks had 2 hall guys in Bernard King and Ewing, Philly won with Moses Malone Dr J and the Boston Strangler,Andrew Toney Mo Cheeks and the Jones boys...Detroit had the Kelly the puker Tripuca, Adrian Dantley,Isiah,Vinny the microwave and Bill Lambier...Out west the Nuggets scored 130 a game but couldnt keep up with LA but Houston had a couple of pops at us, once with Moses Malone in 81 and again in 86, the spurs had the smoothest scorer on the planet in George Gervin and a couple of bruisers, dallas was decent with Mark Aguirre and others.... anyway It seemed more competetive back in the day
  15. Did you ever see Bird play Yankshater? Nothing against Paul Pierce but ask 100 people who saw them both play, who'd they want to take the last shot of a game and if 99 dont say Bird, Id be shocked.... Bird could shoot better pass better rebound better and would play till he died. Pierce is more athletic and faster and could penetrate better. Bird had a way of making everyone around him better, Pierce didnt win anything till the big boy Garnett arrived. No knock against Paul Pierce, he'll never have to buy a drink in this city as long as he lives but he isnt Larry Bird, only a couple of people in NBA history had Birds talent and none had his will to win.
  16. I dunno, claude lemieux has more playoff goals than non post season goals doesnt he? Scoring is more difficult come April but when Mvps just disappear i wonder about grit, the ability to make things happen under pressure and duress. Im putting you on the spot here Jim Who do you like for real? Boston Detroit Washington Chitown?? From what Ive seen Detroit is a head taller than the rest of the class and Boston is the most balanced team in the east i do expect a Detroit Boston series but man those Wings are legitimately the best crew of talent ive seen put together since perhaps those Canadien teams of the 70s
  17. f*** him, that purple lipped ass muncher leaves his wife in a maternity ward to take up with hooker in Toronto, he starts banging Madonna, which is equivalent to a hot dog in a hallway, announces out of his yankee contract a half hour before the sox win the world series and a cancer survivor got the W. The man is a disgrace, a gagging **** who may not have much left after the Juice is out of his system but the fact is hes better than Cody Ransome and Geronimo Berroa
  18. I get 103.7fm out of westerly ri very well and i know they have other affiliates in springfield but for the life of me i dont understand why AM radio has to suck as bad as it does.
  19. If someone can go back in time to read Jacksons assessment of Kei Igawa before his 1st start then follow the thread to the point where he gets pulled, I assure you that you'll piss your pants laffing. it went something like this ""Igawa has been dominant in his career and has a tricky fastball, a back breaking curve ball and a change that falls off the table, he'll win his big in pinstripes"" then ""f***ing ump is hosing him, why arent we getting the calls"" then finally ""This f***ing guy sucks, where the f*** is Torre, this guy cant get anyone out"" It was hysterical
  20. The West has made hockey fun for me again That wings team is just a treat to watch, they remind me very much of the 70s canadiens. of course with the B's being competetive its no longer miserable to be a home town fan anymore. B's look balanced enuff to win the East but I dont think they can handle Detroit
  21. I can get WFAN better than EEI and i live 27 miles from the state house. with all the modern components of communication these days can someone explain to me why nobody has improved AM radio?
  22. Mike and the maddog....2 f***ing asshat no nothins who have a captive audience of laid off tank top cuca stained boxer short wearing shitbags from Howard Beach to Hoboken...They cant understand this, Suzy must be about to kill herself,Michael Kayes incessant ball washing still provides comic relief here.
  23. I dont understand how they turn it on and off so easily, Thorton is embarrasing. I do think that Detroit gets by Anaheim but would rather be playing Chicago.
  24. Those are the Bukake goggles he got from Arod who stole them from Madonna's apartment days after she blew the entire NBA East all star team.
  25. Of course i am the f***ing genious who had San Jose last night...My God did they lay down.
