Good young leftys are worth a ton, this guy was arguably the best lefty in the game last year. I just dont know at this point, there is no swagger on this club and these games count. Nobody will replace Manny in our lifetime, its really that simple but if you're going to lose the best right handed hitter in modern history then Jason Bay isnt a bad replacement,the guy is a pro and hits well under pressure but they got some issues. Quite frankly i dont think they score as much as last year and the problem lies with elsbury. In 2007 he was hitting screaming line drives all over the place, last year after April he was awful. This is the catalyst this is the guy who stole 50 bases and has the potential to steal 75 if he can hit .280. with some patience The league has found his weakspots and has exploited them. If hes going to hit 250 with weak obp then we need to think about another bat and then lose an edge on defense,how long are we prepared to have him leadoff if he isnt getting on base? I have my doubts about this guy after seeing him fail last summer.
