    in 90 uconn was breaking into the bigtime for the 1st time and if you recall it took a christian laetner jumper with 1 second left to get it done,this was after tate george beat clemson on a similar play the game before. and in 99 when duke was an 8 pt favorite in the national title game uconn manhandled them. duke was never a dog to uconn that i recall and K,inspite of being the darling of the media world for his class act and nice guy image,has been an underachiever in my opinion...Hes a quintessential final 4 favorite year in and year out and has managed 2 national titles, 1 against the jayhawks led by all world mark randall and 4 guys i couldnt pick out of a lineup of chinese bartenders and the other was more deserving against the fab 5 of michigan,a team that had a higher payroll than the celtics that year. I f***ing hate Duke but i do give them credit for graduating their kids and running an honest program. Anyone seen Cherokee Parks lately?

    Every night in the big east is a tournament like setting, its one of the reasons i got pissed off when bc left for the acc,bc could compete in the east pretty much every year but in the acc its always duke and nc with maryland wake and sometimes gtech taking up the also rans but the big east is every team,every gym, every night if you can win 18 while playing in the east you're pretty good. as far as uconn goes,this team is always better in march because they have the best coach in the nation. K is a nice guy and a gentlemen and all that s*** but calhoun owns his ass when it matters gerald henderson is something else but that team looks the same every year,big slow white guys in the inside with adept athletic swingmen and a white point guard who looks like an accountant going to prison when the big games come around,scared f***ing shitless..I see Michelle Paulus is coming off the bench now?...Senior leadership at its finest...

    Ya,more of the Joba rules ******** that gets this kid dl'd every year is exactly what the dr ordered here. either hes a pitcher or hes not. playng games with his role on a month to month basis will eventually send this kid into a shell then add into the equation that he hasnt been paid yet and all of a sudden this year he is loaded with pressure to perform.. he'll be throwing 100 in an april game in detroit when its 32 degrees and raining and then he will feel tightness in his forearm,girardi will come to the mound and then we can here about a 15day trip to the dl and a 3 month rehab in scranton...again they f***ed this guy around year in and year out and he still hasnt shown he can stay on the field all year long,when he gets to pitch with carol burnett he will learn the finer points of what to do with all that time off and how to prepare every 3 years when your contract comes due.

    Ya,when Don Zimmer got fired I got whiplash. Its not really Joe Torre who the majority cares about in the case, i think the public is more interested in Arods woman like obsession with the guy who is always on the back cover of the Avon catalogue my 11 year old daughter gets...Arod is a shining example for Mark Texeira and his decision to come to ny,hes also amongst the reasons that CC wanted to stay out west,50 hr years and an mvp award while being cannon fodder for page 6 and the back page on a daily basis isnt the kind of attention most ball players want in their lives..

    Steve Avery had incentives to start 25 games i think?He was f***ing useless while in boston. on his 25th start and with the sox out of it jimy williams started him to gain him his bonus or it may have kicked in a players option,i forget. Oil Can Boyd on the other hand led the NL in shutouts(4 i believe),led the expos in wins i think and needed 1 start with a week left to gain his option(or bonus)...The expos sat him,f***ed him over and he never pitched again in the majors....Now that boy got f***ed badly.

    Earl Morrall went to the superbowl on 2 teams, lost 1 and got benched before the other. thats sort of a ******** question because qbs dont leave like the other players do. That rams offense was unbelieveable but warner is essentially a nothing when it comes to playing outside in real football weather,in a controlled environment hes great,if he plays in the elements he sucks,plus i never want to see his wife again. both his superbowl games with the rams he was a huge favorite and nearly gagged them both the greatest show on turf had 17 points against the pats and believe they got 23 against the titans? in any case if joe namath is in the hall of fame then i guess this guy deserves consideration but i dont think he gets in unless he wins this one....When you're benched for mark bulger while in your prime you probably arent going to canton.

    if you take that hit out of football you may as well outlaw tackling below the waist...its football for chrissakes,its violent and its viscous and people WILL get carried off the field when the leagues 2 best defenses play each other,its a fact of life. And this is the 2nd time I seen McGahee taken off the field in a championship game,once at the U and now this weekend. Boy did the public come around on the Cards,we had 3 at kickoff and i think it was at 4 on friday

    Hes had essentially 3 good years and a ton of mediocrity in between. im happy for him and i think hes had some of the best games ive ever seen but iasaac bruce and az akhim and marshall faulk and this latest stud,larry fitz(irish ya know) were a nice cast of characters to throw to. im happy for him but no,he dont make it.

    Agreed, this is a much better deal for a player who can hit and field with texeira any day of the week, plus ya gotta like Youks attitude a little bit better, he plays the game like we wished they all played the game and is never satisfied or content with his production. cheap too, great deal for theo and youk wont have to worry about his next meal anytime soon. we got arguably the best lefty in lester,arguably the best closer in paps and arguably the best right handed postseason pitcher in history in beckett...Now lets get Elsbury back into hitting line drives and healthy power guys like ortiz and lowell and we dont have too many worries going into april with the brutal exception of Catcher, which is never an easy hole to fill. Its safe to say that Veritek is gone forever and its also safe to say that Scott Borass has cost Manny and Tek 8 figures a piece

    Wasnt Rex Ryan fired from Cincinatti U? I know he coached there and his dad was a rather colorful character being the only coordinator i have ever seen carried off the field after a superbowl.. but a grown man named Rex reminds me of either a pedophile or a mama's boy...sort of like chip or skip etc... Although Balt has a rookie qb starting I think they can run the ball a little bit,use the tight end and some ball control catching wideouts could take the pressure off...It should be low scoring and I figure Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are good for a td or maybe even 10 pts. They can smell it,theyve been there and done that in similar circumstances.

    Easy is a loose term,finishing 11-5 with no running backs,linebackers eligible for AARP,2 of the front 3 needing surgery and a defensive backfield that is full God awful is good football,add into the mix the emergence of Matt Cassell and we had a pretty good year..11-5 is generally a lock for the playoffs and based on what ive seen this winter the pats wouldve had a pop against anyone. Brett Favre still sucks and the fact that he simply wont go away like the dead Mississippi BullWeevil that he is tells me he needs the audience...Eventually he will be carried off the field in a stretcher if he shows up to play next year and I cant understand why the Jets owner hasnt moved on based on the beatdown his teamates are giving him via the media.. When a douchebag like Thomas Jones rips you its time to move on. maybe his sister needs a new triggerman for her drivebys?

    I believe the fact that Ny threw money at sabby and burnett that nobody even came close to matching as well as signing tex to a 23M per deal is what theyre alluding to. Our gamble on Penny is 1 year NYs gamble on Burnett is 5yrs and hes never won 12 games So who is taking the big chance here? Smoltz is a gamer,he has lost some velocity and im not sure if he can start or close but wouldnt he be sweet meat coming on in the 7th or 8th?... he was the best pitcher on that atlanta team and best make the hall of fame. We are gambling there too but again,1 year.

    I think that BB is the best football mind ever and if you watch the success or lack there of,of the likes of weiss mangina crennel and ya,the tuna too, it reveals a lot more about his talent. Would anyone be surprised if they dump Cassell, lose brady to injury and win a dozen games with Oconnell as Qb next year? No defensive backs Aging linebackers Banged up dline No running backs An O line that lead the league in sacks given up Tight ends that cant catch and an 11-5 record and peaking just as the season ended which sucks because i think the AFC is wide open this year,im leaning toward Baltimore to win the AFC..Ny in the NFC and the Ravens to win it all with Eli Manning on a stretcher before the game ends.
