I'm not sure they really despise characters since they have had a lot of them over the years, but no doubt the leash is much shorter. Personally I like that approach because the egos need to be kept in check in this town and if the organization keeps churning out replacements then there's no reason to overpay for someone who's getting paid for past performance. Though I'd say I'd be incredibly disappointed if it happens with Pedroia (or Beckett), though both seem professional enough not to let these things interfere/branch into the mainstream.

More like 33%, but more importantly it's pretty easy to make that statement now compared to say 07-08 when those guys (sans Lugo) played critical roles. And money won't be the reason why a deal doesn't gets done come the deadline

VERY encouraged by the curveball, was sort of afraid it had fallen by the wayside but clearly it's still an extremely good pitch. Again he threw a lot of pitches but he's getting better. 9 hits, though 7 of them were singles
