  1. Hey *******s if we lose this game I dont get to start the next gamethread, so f***ing pick it up
  2. So here we go: tommy HUNTER vs. Josh 'f***in' Beckett http://bostonglob.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/url-4.jpeg MOJO of the day: WAR http://pwned.com/userimages/1221974140-duke-nukem-3d-1.jpg Because this isn't just a fan forum...oh no. This is an all out war. You can post here, but be prepared. If you say the season is over, you better be damn sure it is. If you like tables, this is the place for you. If you think Alex Cora sucks then this is place for you. Because this is an all out war zone. You see there are hundreds of Sox fans and only a handful of Yankee fans, but we're coming after you. Gom? He's a dead man. Jacko, dead. NIEDERMAYER!!!... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_64itAtqJIlY/SCqNscwWF5I/AAAAAAAADRM/kkXr8YFxFdg/s400/Bush%2Bgolf%2B%2B5.jpg "We're gonna get those terrorists, now watch this drive"
  3. WE ALL LOVE THE RED SOX DO DO DO DA DO DO
  4. Trade Penny, Saito Smoltz to Pen Bring up Buchholz Anderson, Bowden, Kalish for Halladay 1. Beckett 2. Halladay 3. Lester 4. Buchholz 5. Wakefield MR Okajima MR Delcarmen MR Masterson MR Smoltz MR Ramirez MR Bard CL Papelbon YEA
  5. f*** 'depth' when 3 out of your 5 starters are average (or worse) then those are the types of results you're going to get. Either make a trade for Halladay or put Buchholz in, you know someone with UPSIDE
  6. Is it really a win-win? Sure he keeps one of the best pitchers in baseball, but for what? To finish fourth and allow Halladay to continue to keep aging into his mid-30's? It seems that in order to maximize his value he should trade him immediately or the offseason at the latest.
  7. I thought you were saying his BABIP this season was around .335, I hadn't checked it myself. Either way I'd feel as comfortable saying he stays around .290 then that he drops significantly below that for the rest of this season.
  8. His career BABIP is .331
  9. Don't care, I'd like us to move beyond the Wake caddy days. Worse comes to worse Varitek can do an adequate job.
  10. Well they are having basically the same season And Dipreg .295 is plenty close to .300 to get my point across...
  11. What makes anyone certain that Teahen is even available? He's still under the Royals control through at least next year and is a solid .300/.350/.450 type hitter. Only 27 years old to boot. I can't imagine they let him go cheaply
  12. The problem is you look at a lineup like the one Bosox21 posted and there is not a whole lot you can do. I mean is a Mike Lowell platoon partner really going shift the balance in the division more towards the Sox? No not really. The situation with Lowell really sucks because he's maybe good enough to play but we don't really know. Now an impact bat like Victor Martinez would possibly be a balance shifter but again it's very hard to make that move knowing that Lowell is going to maybe be healthy enough to play.
  13. Some team out there needs pitching. I don't think he'll fetch much and honestly don't really care. We're trying to put out the best team out there.
  14. I agree there really should be no rush at all to sign him for huge money. Not to jump ship during a slump but he looks pretty terrible out there lately. Wait till the end of the year, I can't imagine his price range goes up anymore after peaking in late May.
  15. But when Dice-K comes back we'd have 7 seven guys looking for 5 MLB rotation spots. If the front office believes Buchholz is a potential future ace moving forward (and given their complete reluctance to talk about dealing him and the 94mph fastball + plus curve/change combo, I can't see why not) then really it's not worth waiting around and risking any hitches in his development because we want the 'B+' prospect instead of the 'B' one. Doing anything with Smoltz is tricky to impossible since we basically made a commitment with him. But Penny we should feel no veteran urge to hesitate to move him. I appreciate what he's done and he's held the fort well but Buchholz clearly has far more upside.
  16. This has nothing to do with his performance today, but really it's time to move Penny. No sense in waiting for the trade deadline, just find a team who will offer a decent prospect or bench player and make the deal. Buchholz is the future of this team and there is absolutely no reason to delay this any longer. We have a once in a decade type talent and it's not wise to keep toying around. Sure it was kinda interesting how even after the no-hitter he got sent back down, but now it's two years later and his stuff and new-found poise on the mound show he looks to be a better bet right now and in the future. Even on a day where he didn't really have his best pitch working he still handled the Jays pretty easily.
  17. Kaat's been awesome tonight... And if we trade Buchholz and Bard for Halladay I'll be very upset. Also, bye Penny
