Top pitching is at a premium, and we have none of it, so we will have to pay market prices.

Leake stinks. We are not in need of back of the rotation guys. We have plenty of them with Kelly, Buchholz and a host of kids like Rubby, Webster and Workman. If they feel the need to get another back of the rotation type, I'd rather that they sign Masterson and package Cespedes with someone else to get a #2.

I was online at 10 am this morning to buy Spring Training tickets. I was shocked at how fast the tickets were selling. I try to get Grandstand tickets, because they are in the shade. Of the 4 games that I tried to purchase, those tickets were available for only 1 game. I ran out of time making my purchase, so I had to repeat the process, and when I did, one of the games was sold out to the point where i couldn't purchase two seats together. This team definitely knows how to make money.

That may be the best offer that we get for him, and I think it would be a fair trade. That rumor seems to have come and gone at this point.

If it takes Bogaerts to land a big time pitcher, and the Red Sox pull the trigger, who do you think would fill the hole at SS. Would it be Hanley who has never been a top fielding SS or would they look elsewhere? Evereth Cabrera is a non-tender. Does he play SS or 2B? What about Drew for a season until Marrero is ready? Right now it looks like Cespedes can net us Leake or Niese. Leake stinks and Nieses's arm is hanging by a thread.

No one likes an awkward hugger. If Lester leaves, the post trade hug could be part of the reason. Look at Henry. It must have been like getting a hug from an over-cooked piece of linguini. It probably made Lester's skin crawl.

The guy is not good. He doesn't know how to go to his left up the middle. His footwork is so poor that he gets nothing on his throws giving runners an extra step. He doesn't know how to charge slow hit grounders turning routine outs into infield hits. He needs to improve a lot just to be standard at SS.

Stats don't show footwork and XB looks like he needs some lessons.

I agree that Xander is far from being good at SS. His footwork is terrible. He needs intensive tutoring to improve. Is Disarcina still in the organization? Maybe he can give XB a crash course. His fielding is why I have been talking about him as trade bait. The organization seemed to have had plans for him at 3rd eventually, but after signing Sandoval that might have changed. Marerro is a guy with a major league glove at SS.

FO would have saved themselves a lot of money if they had negotiated in good faith prior to last Spring Training.

DeGrom is not a veteran. The reports that I have read indicate that the Mets are not interested in moving Wheeler, Harvey, DeGrom or Montero.
