  1. Opening Day seats look good. You have an unimpeded view of the entire infield. That is as good as it gets from the Fenway grandstand seats. For game two, you will have to lean to your right to get good view of HP.
  2. You are dead on about this. We have a pair of 4's and 5's with a possible 2/3.
  3. Ben is usually true to his word. That has been my observation. I am not expecting anything. Hopefully, he works a trade, because I think the rotation is very unimpressive. Maybe he trades Kelly and XB for Hamels. The Phillies need a SS.
  4. This will be your first trip to Fenway? I hope you get good weather (a rarity in Boston in April) and I hope you see them win! If I am in Boston at that time, we will have to arrange to have a drink.
  5. Yep. Anything he gives us would be a bonus.
  6. I bought my tickets this morning. There was no waiting in the virtual waiting room and the selection of tickets was great. That's what happens after you finish last.
  7. That's what the Phillies GM would say.
  8. 2014 is now last season. His 1.74 ERA was 2 seasons ago.
  9. If he fits the locker room so well, make him a coach. The guy can barely limp through 40 games and he hit .180 something last year. Not acceptable.
  10. The off-field differentiating factors for teams are budgets and the scouting and development operations. The suits are pretty fungible. And even if not, I would not be a fan of them or root for them. They have no talent that I admire.
  11. If something is fungible, it can be replaced without a change in performance. Our roller coaster ride in the standings for the last 3 years clearly demonstrates that the onfield talent is not fungible.
  12. There are a few veterans in the minors for teams as insurance. Ross is not Johnny Bench. He is easily upgradeable.
  13. A lot of them will hit more than .196 over 2 seasons. He is a broken down warhorse. It's time to put him out to pasture.
  14. Vasquez is young and eager. Let him catch the bulk of the games. There are plenty of other under 40 catchers that can handle 40 games behind the plate and hit more than Ross's .196 over his 2 seasons with the Red Sox. That will not be a tough find. His only hook was being Lester's personal catcher. Lester is gone. Theo can have Ross too.
  15. A fossil that needs to be buried and visit other fossils.
  16. I have a unique take on lots of topics. Yet, people think they can predict what I will think or tell me what I think. They are usually clueless bastards who arewasting their time. LOL!! Being a suit myself for a business, I have an upclose perspective in forming my opinion that most suits are leaches and overhead. In professional sports, the level of business acumen is lower than you find in major industries as lots of ex-jocks and other sycophantic types fill these positions for sports franchises. A kid with a History degree would never lead a Company in financial industries in any capacity, but there is a spot for him in baseball. I like the guys on the field. The owners are nothing more than a bankroll. I will analyze and evaluate their performance. If they make good moves, I will give them credit. If they make bad moves, I will hammer them. In either case, I have no loyalty to any of them. Unlike onfield talent, the suits are fungible.
  17. I could see that also. It would be a roll of the dice. Miley, Masterson, Porcello and Kelly might put up an almost 800 combined innings and the season will be a success or they might get pumelled and we have another disastrous season. I could see either possibility. I don't see anyone "falling into our lap.". If they want a top pitcher, they will have to pay to get him-- even at mid-season.
  18. No. I don't think so.
  19. I have no loyalty or any particular appreciation for ownership groups or FO personell. I will go to my grave as a Red Sox fan, unless the Taliban purchases them.
  20. It was tongue in cheek.
  21. Porcello, Masterson and Miley will be this generation's Maddox, Smoltz and Glavine. LOL! More likely they will by like the Mets Generation K.
  22. Cespedes became disenchanted when he got traded to the Red Sox after he realized that he wouldn't get to face our pitching. He'll be fine with Detroit, because he will get the opportunity to rake our mediocre pitching.
  23. He stinks. Webster in a low pressure environment could succeed if he can harness his command. His stuff is exceptional-- much better than Rubby's stuff.
  24. I could see him doing that. He also has the heart of a bulldog, but with Miley, Masterson, Porcello and Buchholz plus any other acquisition will there be room for him.
