    Bloom’s judgment has to be called into question regarding the bullpen arms he acquired. These were not additions. They are negatives who have hurt the team. Robles has always been a bum and Davis is a complete nonentity. I’d have preferred to stick it out with Workman. These bums were not an improvement and anyone familiar with Workman and Robles should have known that. The Sox radio guys said this also and flat out stated that Robles shouldn’t be on the team.

    This game shows us nothing. The Rays trotted a pig to the mound and let him get clubbed. Cash wasn’t going To make much of an effort to win this game. It’s a lot better than losing, but I don’t think this signals a stop to the death spiral.

    over that swinging on 3-0 stuff? Isn’t it possible that he just came back to earth. BTW, I can’t stand LaRussa. He really believes that he is a genius and I am glad that the 3 hitter minimum rule was instituted to keep him from dragging out the last 3 innings for 2 hours.

    I’ll not take anyone’s word, including Bloom’s, that reinforcing the team was cost prohibitive. It was the most active Trading Deadline in memory. He could have done something.

    When your team exceeds expectations and finds itself in first place after 100 games, management owes it to that team and the fans to get some reinforcements to give that team a chance. To sit and watch multiple deals by each of the 3 teams chasing us and to do nothing is just unacceptable.

    The error by Renfroe? That added one run. So we would have lost by 3 instead of 4. This was all on Barnes. And Whitlock.

    i was very surprised that Bloom extended Barnes. It just seemed out of character.
