  1. I hope that Shaw earned another game after tonight.
  2. Agreed. Unfortunately, he is our #3 guy for now.
  3. Until recently, we have shown no ability to come from behind.
  4. That is right. On our staff, he is our #3.
  5. I don't care how he is pitching except for the current game, but that doesn't make me ignore what he is-- a #5 guy with a 4.5 ERA.
  6. I could live with him as a #5 even with his 4.5 ERA. The problem is bottom 3 guys in our rotation put up a 5.5 ERA combined.
  7. That's like the argument that a pitcher only has one bad inning every game. The guy with some bad games and the guy with a bad inning each game are both bottom of the rotation guys with 4.5 ERAs. Everything else is cherry picking.
  8. Shaw is giving Napoli a Wally Pipp moment.
  9. LOL!!! They are stubbornly clinging to that terrible 4.5 ERA
  10. Luis Tiant and Eck weren't bad. And prior to Nettles hurting his shoulder, Bill Lee was a very solid pitcher.
  11. Good memory. I had forgotten about Bailey. He was just short of being a big leaguer.
  12. Starters: Posey, Holliday and Cruz Reserves: Kris Bryant Pitchers: Sonny Gray, Shelby Miller
  13. I have Posey, Holliday and Cruz.
  14. Unless Sonny Gray punches out Billy Beane.
  15. They still have a chance, but they need to make changes to compete.
  16. As a team, we get too many guys thrown out on the bases.
  17. I wish one of the cutesy wootsey kid announcers would say "Now batting, Pablo Tub of Goo Sandoval." That would put an end to Junior Announcers Day.
  18. if we finish dead last again, I think there is a very good chance we get a new GM.
  19. Then the price should be a lot higher. I thought this was a contract year for him.
  20. your next to last sentence is the key to why it will not happen.
  21. They need to make moves to get back in this race. If not , the only thing under us in the standings on Fenway's green monster will be the warning track.
  22. This year would be the time to move Buch. He has had a lot of problems putting together back to back productive seasons, but we probably can't get much for a couple of months of Buch.
  23. I don't think they do. If there was a thought of making such a move, we would be hearing that Hanley was working out at first base. They are going to stubbornly stick to this failed LF experiment. He is taking forever just to be serviceable out there, because he has terrible OF instincts. It is like the Bard situation. Everyone could tell that he was flushing down the toilet. Bobby V knew it. The only two that didn't know we're Bard and Ben. Ben stuck stubbornly to the experiment until it was humiliating and embarrassing. I could tell seeing him one day in person in Spring Training that he was going to have major problems. If I could see it (and I have progressive lenses), how could the coaches not see it, or did they see it and hoped for the best.
  24. With improvement from Miley and Porcello, they are still a rotation with about a 4 ERA and that is not good enough to be competitive in today's game. That is why you are in denial. I never said you were delusional. This isn't 2002-2008 where a 4 ERA is middle of the pack. It is below average now. It is not mediocre. It kinda stinks. It would be a huge improvement from what they have been putting up, which has been horrendous. Stink would be a marked improvement, but it would still be stink. You can't compete with a 4+ ERA today.
