    I don't care how he is pitching except for the current game, but that doesn't make me ignore what he is-- a #5 guy with a 4.5 ERA.

    I could live with him as a #5 even with his 4.5 ERA. The problem is bottom 3 guys in our rotation put up a 5.5 ERA combined.

    That's like the argument that a pitcher only has one bad inning every game. The guy with some bad games and the guy with a bad inning each game are both bottom of the rotation guys with 4.5 ERAs. Everything else is cherry picking.

    Luis Tiant and Eck weren't bad. And prior to Nettles hurting his shoulder, Bill Lee was a very solid pitcher.

    This year would be the time to move Buch. He has had a lot of problems putting together back to back productive seasons, but we probably can't get much for a couple of months of Buch.
