Just poking you Bells. I know that you have been very critical. As far as what Ben knew and when, we will never know, and I really don't care. The Jays have Donaldson and we don't. Everything else is BS and excuses.
The A's got rid of a guy who is a young star on the upswing for very little. Toronto should name a holiday after their GM/
What is the flavor of the koolaid that you are drinking?
Yep, pretty much all of them carry their water except for DS. They will go after guys after the FO has parted ways with them. Then the gloves are off. Who is the ultimate source of this information-- Sox FO. Nuf sed. Lauber wasn't there for the conversations.
All I know as fact is that the Jays got a stud like Donaldson and we got a human donut to play third. I am not interested in having Congressional hearings as to who knew what and when did they know it-- that is all meaningless spin and excuses.
I don't buy any BS cover story by a Boston writer who is always willing to carry the water for the FO to get access. Behind the scenes, JH is probably livid with Ben, but we will never know.
Porcello took us out of this game early. The players are not in the game right now so they are playing like clowns -- missing popups and forgetting the number of outs.
When he straightens out, he will be a 4.5 ERA guy -- good enough to hold down the 5 hole if he can put up 200 innings. But that is all that he will be. He is in a real tough patch right now.
He is a #4/5 starter. That's all he has ever been and he has been in the bigs for 5 or 6 full seasons as a starter. Lineups like the Jays eat guys like that alive. It is completely unsurprising.
What a joke!! I don't know why people thought he was such an emerging star. The Tigers were aready losing Scherzer and Fister. They would have kept Porcello if he had a big upside considering his youth. It is becoming evident that the Tigers sold high on Porcello, and that we completely overpaid on the extension. He stinks.
