  1. Sure he is in decline. I never said that he wasn't, but he did always give up a lot of Home Runs even in his bet season. And last year, he was still better than Porcello, imo.
  2. Shields always gave up a lot of Home Runs, but was still very successful. Porcello is supposed to be a sinker ball pitcher. His Home Run rate spike is a new development, and he has not been successful with his new approach.
  3. He was much better than Porcello last season. You don't have to go back 3 years. This year Shield has had some problems, but if I had to hand someone the ball, I would rely on Shields track record and hand it to him instead of Porcello, who should be worshiping at the altar of of BC.
  4. Shields has had a much better career than Porcello, and I would still rather hand the ball to him than Porcello.
  5. Even the 1977-78 teams hit slumps with 3 Hall of Famers in the lineup as well as Lynn, Evans, Boomer.
  6. I just realized that Michael Fulmer of the Tigers was acquired from the Mets for 2 months of Cespedes. Fulmer is looking like an ace in the making and he is playing for the league minimum and is under team control. For a full year of Cespedes, we got Porcello for one year and then threw an $82 million extension at him. Yet, people want me to believe that BC got the best return that he could for Cespedes, Lester and Lackey. Puhlease, BC was a fool.
  7. And when the offense slumps, which offenses inevitably do, the team will swoon if th pitching doesn't improve.
  8. I am starting to think that Kelly is the love child of Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz. He is frail --- probably a bleeder too.
  9. Porcello gives up too many Home Runs. Where yesterday's HR pitch was is irrelevant. His HR rate has skyrocketed since we got him.
  10. or that a .205 hitter could hit out of the park.
  11. For the Hockey Playoffs?
  12. SC manages to work "dick" into every post. He is the Howard Stern of TS.
  13. There would be some great nicknames -- Stumpy, Hopalong, Three Fingers and on and on.
  14. He could have been a key component of a significant deal. This injury hurts more than just our every day lineup.
  15. Iortiz could adapt his sports betting algorithm and make a killing. Pardon the pun.
  16. Is it a betting sport?
  17. That is all that i want to get from him --innings and a 4 ERA.
  18. In 2013, we ran like idiots too, but that team was so resilient that they always picked up their team mates after they pulled a rock. I remember one game where Daniel Nava (who waddled like duck) trying to score from third on a foul pop behind home plate. It was one of the biggest base running rocks that i have seen.
  19. For those who doubt themselves they are helpful.
  20. Big pitching matchup tomorrow. I am excited to see it.
  21. It is nice to get a win to start off the road trip -- especially on the west coast.
  22. Terrible. The guy is struggling to throw strikes and the bases are loaded with no one out. How can he swing at the first pitch?
