  1. The Twins are a terrible team.
  2. Yep, Steven Wright for me too with Shaw as the second most surprising.
  3. ERod has not gotten back to where he was last year. Bogaerts running play was awesome. Maybe managers will start rethinking the overuse of the shift if things like that keep happening.
  4. It is just not control -- there has to be tremendous deception too. I am not sure if it is that they pick up the ball late or there is a lot of movement or both. I have seen many hitters late on his 86 mph fastballs.
  5. There are a few of us who go to Fort Myers. TalkSox needs to get us some hats or tee shirts with a large TalkSox logo so we can identify and find each other. Also, it is good advertising to wear it in front of thousands of fans.
  6. I predict that you will change your avatar before the end of the season.
  7. That is interesting. He had a great run at the beginning of the season.
  8. Disagree. When right, Clay has a swing and miss changeup that is top shelf. I have not seen that recently though.
  9. SF would be a great city if you could walk more than 5 feet in any direction without bumping into a homeless person.
  10. They all struggle with multiple moves at the same time.
  11. When we signed him, very little was known about him. There was little in the way of scouting reports on him. There was very little video of him. He hadn't played for a year and a half. He was a mystery man. We had assumed that the Red Sox had more information on him than was publicly available. Maybe they didn't.
  12. It is ridiculous that the team has to make a trip out to the coast to play a 2 game series against an NL team. I hate interleague.
  13. NL managing is stressing out Farrell. You can see the strain on his face.
  14. I thought that hanley's ball had the distance when he first hit it. And then I was shocked when he dropped it.
  15. I didn't think that Home Run ball had enough.
  16. Too taxing for most AL managers -- they would need to go out on medical leave for Mental Exhaustion.
  17. What about fishing and hunting?
  18. Do people here remember jerry Trupiano? He was Castiglione's radio partner for a few years. He would scream "Way Back! Way Back!" on his Home Run and deep fly ball calls. We had a pitcher for a couple of those years that we got from the A's -- John Wasdin. The organization had very high hopes for him. When he pitched, Trupiano seemed to be shrieking "Way Back!" every inning. It got to the point where the fans nicknamed him "Way Back! Wasdin." Maybe Fred pinned that one on him.
  19. O.B. scared me with his call on that one. It reminded me of Jerry Trupiano's "way back way back" heart attack calls.
  20. That is what Young is paid to do --hit top LHP.
