  1. By all means present the evidence. Until I see some incontrovertible evidence, it is just a smear.
  2. He is on pace for 5 SBs
  3. In the stands, I would have been very confused by you.
  4. I'll say so what right back to you. What is your point?
  5. You are ignoring the dynamics of the game. He eats innings and has saved the bullpen more than any other starter. That has a cascading effect beyond wins and losses in the games he pitches. Who would have have stepped into Wright's spot -- O'Sullivan? Without Wright, I could definitely see the team being 7 games under .500 in games pitched by his replacement. Do you think that would be a huge stretch?
  6. MJ was there for that second year where they lost in the second round. Rodman and Grant were not.
  7. And he had the ball in crunch time, because Pippen and Rodman put the team in that position. BTW Steve Kerr hit some very big crunch time shots for that team.
  8. You had asked if any of us had predicted that the 2012 would win 69 games. Then you posted a bunch of statistics that were impressive if they had been predictions or projections. That is why I asked whether those were pre-season projections. My answer to your original question is that I did not predict 69 wins for the 2012 team, but my prediction for the 2012 team after the season was over was more accurate than Pythagorean's record of 73 wins.
  9. Were those pre-season projections?
  10. Highest stolen base % on the team.
  11. I always thought Clemens was a jerk, yet I always wanted him on my team. Whether they are jerks doesn't matter to me. I thought Price was a jerk on the Rays, and I love handing him the ball. I am not criticizing you for wanting to like players, but that is not important to me. Likeability, might be a problem for a team's PR department, but it means squat to me. Jim Rice was never very likeable, neither was Ted Williams.
  12. I will be there tomorrow, so hopefully my at the game mojo will help ER.
  13. 1. Ortiz 2. Big Papi 3. Big Papi Ortiz
  14. He was a complete nutcase. He was more counter culture than any athlete that I can remember, but the guys played 100% at all times and his game was completely unselfish. He did all the dirty work to get the ball and stop the other team and then handed it off to the other players to get the glory. I really admired his game. When I watched a Rodman team, I watched Rodman even though he was rarely in the center of the picture. He ran the floor like a point guard and he rebounded like a big center. I never saw a player better anticipate where the ball would go when it was shot.
  15. Without Wright (who has come out of nowhere to be an ace), I agree with Spud, this is a .500 team. Facacta statistical projections do not convince me otherwise. Most of these statistical projections are no better than anyone's guesses.
  16. MJ without a great supporting cast? He played alongside Scottie Pippen a Hall of Famer through his entire run and he had Dennis Rodman another HOFer for 3 of those championships. Rodman won two championships without Jordan, and Isaiah Thomas said that if he had to pick one player to start a team it would be Dennis Rodman. He may have been the best rebounding forward in history. Before MJ had Rodman, he had Horace Grant who was also a great rebounding forward. To say that MJ didn't have a great supporting cast is far from the truth. The year that MJ got eliminated by the Knicks in the semis, he didn't have Grant or Rodman. He needed a high caliber player at that position.
  17. He's likeable? I am not having tea with any of these guys, so likeable never factors into it for me.
  18. A very tough loss.
  19. Idiocy of overusing the shift. LOL!!! A pop up turns into a hit after your stud closer blows away the hitter.
  20. I can't blame Farrell for this loss, but I still think he is a dope.
  21. He was late on the prior fastball, and I don't think he has the best bat speed so I thought he would be vulnerable.
  22. We face Sale and Quintana the next 2 nights.
  23. I didn't think that Abreu could catch up with Kimbrel's fastball. Damn!
  24. What is Rutledge's injury?
  25. Lemarre came up for Castillo. Who did Marrero replace?
