  1. And if we didn't do that we would be fighting Tampa for last place. If we wanted to be a top contender, we needed to add another good reliable starting pitcher.
  2. At the end of the year, those teams are known as good teams -- winners.
  3. He is not the problem. You said it yourself. We are going to win more often than not in games he pitches. He has not pitched to career norms in 3 months of his 7 year contract. Where is the patience that you preach? Price is not this teams problem. Pointing any fingers at him is just misguided silliness.
  4. Yeah, I still eagerly anticipate Price's starts. I feel pretty good about our chances when he takes the bump. When Buchholz or the random #5 takes the ball, I cringe. I am comfortable with our chances with Wright and Porcello pitching. The top 3 are not the problem. The problem is really pretty clear.
  5. The offense got 12 hits and had 16 base runners and scores 7 runs and our pitchers blew us out. That happens too regularly.
  6. Like I said yesterday, we will revive the Rays season like we brought the White Sox to life.
  7. Garbage time is starting very early in recent games.
  8. Did the Red Sox feel compelled to find someone nerdier and more annoying than Rosenthal? Speier should be a food critic, not a sports analyst. I guess JH wanted someone that made him look like a he-man stud.
  9. Price, Wright and Porcello are just fine. The other 40% of the rotation is atrocious and it will sink this team. It is not the whole rotation.
  10. Good point.Even if the guy has the tools, this organization seems incapable of developing pitchers
  11. Clearly too many hopes for this team were tied up with this kid. He is not ready for prime time. He's not the answer for 2016.
  12. Against a team whose offense sucks ass. Goodness gracious!
  13. 5 runs out of the gate. What a joke.
  14. We revived the White Sox season. We will do the same for the Rays. Pitching pitching pitching. That is what is needed. Expecting playoffs from this team without additional pitching is blind optimism.
  15. We were just looking forward to competitive baseball-- a .500 team. In the end that is what they will probably be. I expect that Baltimore or Toronto will put distance between us and them. The other team we might be fighting with for a wild card spot.
  16. Yeah, the solution is to keep rolling Buchholz and pick your #5 turd twice each time through through the rotation and hope for the best. We can continue to watch Buch and the the turd of the week keep taking an ax to games. That sounds like a recipe for fun and success.
  17. Good point. I thought it was the music thread.
  18. They chart pitches and drink. That is about the scope of their duties.
  19. In response to remarks like this throughout the years about pitchers, I answer with a question. What do you call a pitcher that has only one bad inning (3-5 runs) each game? A bad pitcher.
  20. The whining will start any day now about the high cost of acquiring pitching.
  21. In the words of Warner Wolf, "you could have turned off your sets right there."
  22. It is time for Buch to go. It is a no-brainer.
  23. Don't worry we get to play Tampa next. They have lost 10 in a row. We can revive their season like we revived the White Sox.
