I really don't think anyone proposed moving XB to 3B for Lin. Under discussion is whether we look for a SS instead of a 3B going forward.

But they don't even provide depth options. First of all, they are both terrible. Second, they will never bring up either one of them because of the financial implications which would be so costly that it would behoove them to acquire a real major leaguer.

They really are. Decisions that you consider to be complicated are dealt with everyday by managers with 2 or 3 functioning neurons.

The notion of installing a top defensive SS while moving XB might be the right move that no one is discussing. It might also be the long term solution. It would solidify the defense on the left side of the infield. XB is adequate at SS, but he is not going to make anyone forget Ozzie Smith. The options at 3B are not great or cheap. Maybe he should start looking at SS.

They should justly be released and sent away with their huge checks. We have no need for them and there is zero prospect of utilizing either one in a trade. They are just wasting everyone's time and taking up AAA roster spots for players with futures. Enough already. DD bite the bullet on these huge mistakes of Cherries. Ben really was terrible. He threw around tons of money at useless assets.
