  1. Pom needs the DP ball.
  2. He has had a very good record in his career trading away prospects who have underachieved.
  3. Maybe his teeth will start falling out next.
  4. What ar they looking at?
  5. It is the job of a FO to pump up the value of the prospects who they want to move.
  6. What are the betting odds on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Surgery?
  7. I'm a dumbass for dragging Hazel Mae in to this.
  8. I have been called worse. LOL!! Hazel is a little old for Osuna, but in Boston our media babes have been known to date our players and managers so I jumped to conclusions.
  9. We need to jump on Severino quickly.
  10. I think she just reported on the story. The wording was misleading and poor in the lead of the story and I made it worse in the Thread title. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. Any of our top 5 prospects could be pumped and dumped. We may not have a single blue chipper that could land a big fish, but a good GM could package one or more of them maybe together with some major league talent. There will always be a pool of talent coming into the organization through the draft and International draft. The quality will depend on the quality of our scouting etc.
  12. [h=1]Roberto Osuna Arrested, Charged With Assault[/h]By Jeff Todd | May 8, 2018 at 12:29pm CDT Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna was arrested early this morning, per John Lott of The Athletic (subscription link). Osuna has been charged with domestic assault of his girlfriend, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet tweets. Details are scant at this point, so it’s far too soon to assess the situation. The precise nature of the allegations, possible range of legal ramifications, and potential for league punishment are all completely unknown publicly. Osuna has been released from custody and so will theoretically be available to pitch for the Jays, but otherwise his status is not clear. That said, given that this matter reportedly arose in the context of a domestic relationship, it would appear at first glance to fall within the purview of the MLB-MLBPA Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. It is worth reviewing some of the most salient aspects of that agreement, which has been deployed several times since it was implemented in August of 2015. Under that policy, commissioner Rob Manfred has the authority to “place a player accused of” such behavior “on paid Administrative Leave for up to seven days while the allegations are investigated before making a disciplinary decision,” though players also have a mechanism to challenge that treatment “immediately.” That provisional authority was exercised in the middle of the 2016 season with regard to Hector Olivera. Manfred also has the power to oversee the full-scale investigatory and punitive regime set forth in the policy. Any ultimate punishment is subject to arbitration, with a “just cause” standard applied to any determinations made by the commissioner’s office. Olivera was ultimately convicted of a crime and suspended for 82 games. Other cases have involved quite different fact patterns and generally resulted in less significant suspensions. Most recently, for example, Steven Wright was suspended for 15 games. Following another recent investigation, it was determined that Miguel Sano would not receive punishment given the evidence compiled. Criminal charges or convictions are not required for Manfred to issue discipline, though surely that’s weighed in the balance.
  13. Dubon has suffered an injury.
  14. the down-side of being in a window period to win. Seriously, I disagree with you. We will always have some prospects that we can pump and dump for established players.
  15. What "hidden gem" starting pitchers did Theo or Ben find while at the helm for the Sox? If your strategy is to build your pitching staff with "hidden gems", good pitching will be hidden from your rotation. Few top pitchers are developed throughout baseball. The Red Sox develop one about every 15 years. If we want to have a top pitching staff, we need to trade for it or buy it. Thankfully, the Red Sox franchise has the resources to do both.
  16. The New Miami ballpark was built in a bad part of town. Their few fans from Joe Robbie did not make the move to the new stadium. The location of the new ballpark was a very poor decision.
  17. Part of the fun of sports message boards is “I told you so” bragging rights. Sarcasm is part of that. I don’t mind their attempts to pat themselves on the back. What bothers me is the thin skin when they are on the receiving end of sarcasm. It is a 2 way street. They shouldn’t be whiny babies when they are the object of sarcasm.
  18. If he is such a calamity defensively that they can't risk giving him a few starts in place of a duo that can't crack .200, they should just trade him. He has little utility on this Roster. We have 4 OFers plus holt and Nunez to play the OF. Realistically, Swihart is not going to play 2nd or 3rd, and we have 2 first basemen vying for time.
  19. There is been plenty of disappointment expressed on the board about the offense of our catchers.
  20. He is completely lost at the plate.
  21. Devers is on a pace for 35-40 errors.
  22. Agreed. I am not in favor of this.
  23. The umps had a terrible day on Wednesday. There were 4 or 5 challenges that reversed their calls and they were confused on whether a slow bounding ball down the first base line was fair or foul.
  24. Gift Ngoepe https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/05/blue-jays-designate-gift-ngoepe-place-steve-pearce-on-dl.html
