    Ben is killing it in Pittsburgh. He has finished last or tied for last place for 3 years in a row. Together with the last place finishes in his last 2 seasons with the Red Sox, he has finished last 5 years in a row. He is as reliable as a Swiss Watch. This year his team is one game out of last place — that is called an outlier year.

    Like I said, the bottom of the order cannot compete today against Cole. LOL!

    The only reason that this team is better than last years team is that we lock down more wins with the back of the bullpen. Last year, that part of the game was atrocious. Jansen and Martin have stabilized that aspect. Other than that, this team is just as bad as last years’ team, maybe worse after losing Eovaldi and Wacha.

    I guess Casas’ sunning, walking barefoot to ground himself and his other meditative mumbo jumbo doesn’t work good against a bad tooth. Did Yaz ever miss a game for a tooth ache? Do you need teeth to hit?

    I don’t think this lineup 5-9 is competitive against Cole. The Yankees lineup is a pile of garbage too, so who knows.

    JD could have played some LF when Turner was DH’ng and Turner could have played 1st when Casas was slumping and some second base when we were rolling out garbage to that position. They could have both been in the lineup for many games and had ample time to rest their old bones. They could have passed on Yoshida and put that money toward pitching.
