    Attendance will be way down from the norm. They are well below the usual pace and that will slow as they fall further out of the race.

    Like Harry Frazee, these owners have interests that lie elsewhere and they expect that the Red Sox will be a nice stream of income if run economically. Winning isn’t the highest consideration.

    Mookie is a generational talent. He followed in the footsteps of Ruth, Williams, Yaz, Rice and Ortiz. You don’t let guys like that leave. He is still playing great and has become more versatile playing 2B and SS and doing it like a star. Not keeping him was immensely stupid. I don’t care who called that shot. Congratulations to the Red Sox for creating another Babe Ruth situation 100 years later.

    I checked MLB Trade Rumor today and in the top stories column it lists articles John Lackey Rumors and Jon Lester Rumors. Is the MLB Trade Rumor site stuck in a time warp or should I update my iPad?

    JD’s off year stats are better than what we are rolling out this year.

    I don’t hate Dugo at all. He has been one of our better hitters. His power is just average at best. Overall, he has been slightly better than average while a Red Sox. My point is that we are rolling out an anemic lineup. If Dugo is one of your better hitter, your offense isn’t very good.

    JD and his 19 HRs would sure look good in this anemic lineup.

    Careerwise, he is just average.

    They are fielding 1 star batter (Devers), 2 good professional hitters (Turner and Yoshida) and average bat (Dugo) and a bunch of bums. This lineup is not capable of good run production. And we can’t blame it on injuries.

    None. There is no one worth the price of admission on this team. Devers maybe. But not at Fenway prices and Fenway inconvenience and discomfort.
