  1. They didn't work him at all.
  2. Oswalt with a 6 2/3 inning effort for the Rangers against the Rockies tonight giving up 1 run while striking out 6 and walking 1.
  3. He will break out on a tear very soon I think.
  4. He's been a bucket of s*** since the first half of last year. He was 1-3 withe a 5.88 ERA in the second half of 2011.
  5. Baseball is always befuddling. The Sox are hot. They are at home with their # 1 on the mound against a bucket of s*** pitcher. It should be a lock. Too many of these types of games forced me to give up betting on baseball.
  6. Another 7 pitch inning.
  7. They are making him look like Gregg Maddox.
  8. Our pitchers have to be leading the league giving up lead off doubles.
  9. We got all giddy the last few days, but we were playing the Cubs and the Marlins-- two horrendous teams.
  10. Your record with GTs has sucked lately.
  11. You would think that he would lie low for a little while.
  12. He has s***. We should be pummeling him.
  13. We are making this pig look like Roy Halladay. Come on already!
  14. The thumb is getting better. He said that it feels the best that it has felt since he hurt it. Playing with it has no doubt slowed up the healing process, but it is healing. This is not life threatening or career threatening. People are way to dramatic about this. Sure he is not performing up to his standards, but that is for now. The team is better off with him out there and he will start producing like Pedroia again as it heals more. This is a ducking ding. It is probably affecting his video gaming more than anything. Do we have to obsess over this like he is made of fine porcelain.
  15. I still prefer a knicked up Pedroia. If we had Scutaro on the roster or Lowrie, I'd DL him to let him heal, but no one else in the organization. I was impressed by Ciraciao in Spring Training, but he is a career scrub, so I can't see making that move..
  16. If he can remember how.
  17. For 2 months, the price always ends up being much lower than people anticipate.
  18. There is no way that his price should be so high. The Phillies didn't pay such a price for Halladay when they got him.
  19. Doubront showed flashes in Spring Training and at the beginning of the season. He has had games where he has struck out batters in bunches and been very hard to make solid contact against. He pitched brilliantly against the yankees in the debacle where they lost the 9 run lead. Bard was at best passable in some starts, never brilliant, not even for an inning or two. They waited until he deteriorated to the point where he can no longer remember how to pitch effectively.
  20. Once they realized that Bard was not going to be a top of the rotation guy, they should have aborted the project and sent him back to his role where he is an elite performer. There were not any flashes of brilliance as a starter. Yes, you expect bumps along the way of the transition, but he never flashed any brilliance. You expect to see some indication of what you expect him to become. There were no flashes, because in my opinion he just doesn't have the ability to be more than a 4th or 5th starter. Those guys are a dime a dozen.
  21. 2010 was a broken foot. The hairline fracture was in a spot where it would be hard to heal without surgery regardless if he played. They let him play because it was not a weight bearing bone. If he could tolerate the pain, he couldn't damage it any worse. It turned out to be too painful to play through. He didn't damage it or aggravate it. It was just too painful to play through. That was a broke bone. This is not and as long as there is not too much discomfort he can play. Everyone treats these guys like they are eggs that need to be perfect. If you are going to play 150+ games a year, you are going to get dinged. This is a ding, not a career ending injury. He'll be putting on a Laser Show within a week. If you DL him, this team will go right in the tank with or without Ciraciao, and it would stay on track until Pedroia came back and got his timing back.
  22. An injured Pedroia is better than Ciriaco also. That's the thing with super stars like Pedroia. There are usually no acceptable replacements for guys like that Most of the replacements when healthy are not as good as the star is when he is hurt. Yes, his numbers are suffering right now, but f*** the numbers. The Red Sox are a better team when he is on the field. The only numbers that matter are wins. Period.
